Also been running ZA every day for this helm.. 20+ Daakara kills and this helm hasn't dropped. It's not explicit RNG, it's considered a "low" drop rate from Daakara when you're looking this item up in the official Blizzard item repository. Whereas most other Daakara drops are listed of "medium" drop rates. I don't understand why they torture caster shamans when i've seen the leather and melee mail helm drop almost daily!

I know exactly how you feel... Personally I'm up to 49 runs of ZA on my shaman and still no drop. I've done the maths (no garuntees they're right, I suck at math), and with 49 runs and the reported drop rate of 6% I come out with:

0.94^49 * 100 = 4.8% chance of not seeing 1 drop...

Tl;dr, RNG sucks.

EDIT: 50th run finally dropped!

0.94 * 50 *100 = 4.5% chance, i feel for all the shammies still wanting this, but it DOES drop!

I know I hate it when this happens to other folks and not I, but I was fortunate enough to pick this helm up on my first Zul'Aman run. Sorry you guys are having bad luck! Keep running and it'll drop.

On a more fascinating note, one of Thrall's on-click reponses in Warcraft 3 is eerily worthy of recognition in regards to this headpiece. If you had played Warcraft 3, you'll know what I'm talking about.

same as with jtunis, first time in zul'aman and it dropped, i was actually hoping for the mace but was happy that i didnt have to farm for this thing...now the mace is another story for me though..

I don't know how many of you folks played Warcraft 3, but if you did, this helmet's name should be ringing a distant bell.

Damn RNG gods must hate me, I have killed this boss 19 times now on my caster shammy, and have yet to get the helm.

Guys just to be honest the droprate is way to low running this on my shammy for weeks never dropped only once half year ago on my other shammy from other realm blizzard has made this a real low droprate i'm already full geared and still nothing. Why do they hurt us as shammy?

with groups being so hard to get and hold together for the trolls it would be nearly impossible highly improbable for most people outside of a decent guild from doing these reliably

While not an official "set" these form part of the "Zul'Aman Purple" mail set.

Together, the set (minus boots) looks like this. The full list of matching items are:
