Ордынцам же стоит смотреть в сторону квестовой удочки: Экстремальная рыбалка FC-5000 Ната Пэгла - на +25 навыка

Для новичков альянса. Если у Вас нет друга- спонсора, эта удочка вполне реальный шанс заработать себе на первую лошадку. Часа два фарма клеток на 33-34 уровне, получаем две удочки. Тащим их на аукцион, где богатые дядьки хайлевелы отдают до ста голда за такую удочку. Продаём, и покупаем своего первого коня! Быстрее таких денег заработать на низком уровне очень сложно, если вообще возможно. Удачи:)

Триальщики! Обратите внимание что удочка подходит только персонажам уровня 25+. Хотя при попытке одеть данный итем, выпадает сообщение: "Чтобы использовать этот предмет, нужно достичь уровня 20".

These have about a 1 in 100 chance of being inside the shellfish traps underwater. It's pretty easy to farm one. Just get a water breathing buff or item and swim in a circle opening traps. It took me about 30 minutes to get one. If you are alliance on a PVP server, I'd suggest farming these in off hours when horde are less likely to be in the area.

Don't farm these to sell, you'll waste a lot of time. Just get yours and move on, cause there's probably about 10 horde druids trying to farm these.

Attempted to farm one of these for over 2 hours. There were also HORDE farming in the area. we kinda made a round robin looking. and got NONE. If you have a lot of time or if your gaining exp by killing the mobs in this area then by all means try to farm one. BUT otherwise you might be better off buying on AH. I would say 1-200 chance but then again I opened 200 and got none.

Once you are lvl 44 you can obtain a better fishing rod. The quest is attainable at 44 but requires you kill 15 mobs between lvls 48-50. However these mobs are non-aggro turtles, it should be a breeze to party with someone for a few minutes, kill the turtles, and go collect your nice fishing rod. Not nearly as time-consuming as opening a bazillion shellfish traps.

How unfortunate. I myself have picked up so many of these by grinding shellfish that I suppose it would have been be wise to sell them at the shared AH. Last time I found one of this I have to leave it behind because my bags where full and i didn't want to waste time. Btw, horde gets payed for the shellfish...

I had read horror stories about people spending hours trying to farm for this fishing pole. I think it is much easier to farm the gold and just buy it off the AH. I bought mine for only 5g, so almost no time was investing in attaining this item.

Check your AH and consider farming gold to buy it rather than searching shellfish traps.

Man is this a pain to get. I spent at least 2 hours looking for this to no avail. The only bright spot was that, being horde, I was able to make about 5 gold with the shellfish i got from the traps. Still no fishing pole though.

I got 4 of thses 1 after another between the hours of 6:30-7:00 Am
Took me four days of coming and going because of other hordes or allies in area wiping out traps before i could get to them. Take potions or items that will help with air breathing and/or swimming.
Without you will need to stop at the fissure in between each trap.
To get (horde only ) mounts this will take alot of time its about 3-6g and hour without air or swim spells.

Unfortunately, this spot has become a speedbot magnet. The last three times I've gone there (on two different realms, no less), there's been a player with a speed bot racing between traps, farming them all up. It's always been a hunter, too.

It took me about an hour and approx 100 shellfish. I figured out a pattern to search the shellfish trap with out using any potions or swimming to the surface. Start at the Bubbly Fissure located at 19,81 (We will call this bubly #1). Basically run a circuit to trap #1 19,82 then to Trap #2 19,82 (yes, fairly close to each other), then back to Bubbly #1. Next goto Trap #3 located 20,79 then to bubly #2 19,78. Once your full on air swim to trap #4 19,77 and back to Bubbly #2 for a fill up. Then do the longest swim to trap #5 21,80 and then back to orignall Bubbly #1. That's it, just repeat the circuit and eventually you will get the fishing rod. Notice 1/4 of the traps you open will release a lvl 33-34 lobster you have to kill. If you not high enough lvl you may run out of air fighting these so be carefull.

I had to create an account just to tell you how lucky I am.

A lot of the posts are saying that this one is a rare find so I went to Desolace while I was doing Nat Pagle's Artisan Fishing quest to see if it's as hard to find as they say. I got one after the tenth trap. I thought it weird at first, seeing as it didn't even take me ten minutes to get this. So I tried another trap right after and I got another one. o_0

I'm of the opinion that Blizz improved the drop rate for this. Either that or I was just lucky. >.<

I farmed on my 66 druid for about 2 hours before it dropped. I found a nice rhythm and made about 7 or 8 full circles before it appeared. I was >this< close to giving up, too!

I got mine in a little over an hour. It can get frustrating, but it will eventually show up, and it's definitely worth it, as to buy it at AH will cost you at least 20g.

Actually, there is a Horde quest, Catch of the Day, which requires you to bring two Bloodbelly Fish to Nataka Longhorn, an NPC at Ghostwalker Post. In order to receive the fish, you need to do the Fish in a Bucket quest for Jin'ar Zillen in Shadowprey, and that in turn requires you to bring him 5 Shellfish. So it doesn't necessarily mean that people are farming for the fishing rod when they open these shellfish cages. I wasn't, for instance: mine dropped while I was completing the quest.

Since this is the only fishing rod of this quality available to the alliance, it is worth grinding for, however, it takes a long time. Farmed this for a good two hours.

With 132 Shellfish in in my bags and 2 hours of my life gone forever, the rod finally dropped. This is an important pole for Alliance fishers so yes it's worth farming, but do yourself a favor and check the AH before you begin this potentially epic endeavor.

Lvl 70 Dwarf Hunter, doin the Nat Pagle quest for Fishing 300, figured I'd loot while the pet fights. It's on my way to the Desolace fish anyway. So, I pop a Nagrand Cherry (underwater breathing) and head for a trap. Surprised that they don't show as treasure, I went up, right click, and got the pole. 1st try.

Got mine on the very first cage, I was pretty stoked.

Added: After I got the pole on my first try I wanted to get another pole for my brother so I began opening more. Finally found the 2nd fishing pole after about 100 cages and got 2 greens, a few grey items, and countless shellfish.

1) On Balegund as of this post 210 shellfish traps opened and I've never seen this fishing pole.
2) Why not just go to the forest and smack the gnoll that drops it? (haven't tried given the drop rate, but on a nonpvp server I'd think this would be cake
3) Maybe you have to be lvl 70, but at 46 I do *not* get 50s every time I turn in the shellfish, I just get the fish he says he's going to give you....
4) The shellfish traps spawn lvl 27-32ish (?) agro mobs so don't think you're going to swim out there with a breath potion at lvl 1 and make a killing. (Tough if you can even get there unguarded at lvl 1 maybe you could farm there haha)

Been at it for 2 hours, not a single rod dropped. Does not look like the drop rate has been upped, it's just the luck of the draw.

Too bad these things go for ludicrous prices in the AH (at least on Alliance side, on my server)

Some tips on farming this item

1) Swim in a big circle so that you hit all of the traps.

2) Make sure that you loot them every time, even the trash. They don't change their items once you've clicked them, so leaving the trash there is a waste of time.

3) As mentioned above, some kind of water breathing buff is a useful, if not strictly necessary.

4) If you're a herbalist, this quest is much more lucrative and less tedious. There's lots of Stranglekelp in the region. I farmed out about 40g worth of materials in a half-hour. Expect this price to rise with WotLK

It helps to be a little bit higher level than the zone, so the lobster monsters don't give you any trouble.

This pole seems extremely rare on my server. I checked its price with Auctioneer after getting it, and the price is over 1000g! Either very few people want to bother farming it, or there's a flood of lazy fishers with LOTS of money to burn.

It has never taken me more than 15 minutes or long enough to get the 10 quest shellfish to get the pole. I have done it with four toons. Just did it again today, it took me exactly 11 minutes. Just make sure you take an underwater breathing potion. I am going to try and get a second today. I do not know if having one in your bag will affect the odds of a second. Will post on it later.

Follow up: Level 35 Paladin. 30 Minute underwater breathing potion:

40 Shellfish
6 Greens
2 Fishing poles - As I mentioned, the first came at the 11 minute mark. The second at the 30, as I was going back to the village after the potion ran out. Last cage.

I was wondering if this had got rarer (it was going for a few hundred gold on the AH and it was taking me a while to get). Eventually I got it after finding 86 shell fish so it seems that the rate is accurate.

Yeah, I would say it all comes down to the roll -as usual. I remember it took me between 2 1/2 and 3 hours one time when I was getting one for my alt. I had a lot of time on my hands that day and was farming while working at the same time. So I stopped here and there for quick phone calls.

Anyways, several days later a guildie wanted one too, so I figured we can swim in opposite directions to cut the possible drop-time in half. Was handy to have a shaman to cast underwater breathing. So we hopped on Ventrilo so I could explain to him that the cages were laid out like an oval track course. That I would swim clock-wise and he would go counter.

He still had difficulty understanding, so I decided to have him follow me, so he can learn which way to swim and get familiar with where the cages were underwater. Never opening up a SINGLE one during the demonstration. So, we then went back to the "starting line" and were ready to begin after a good 15 to 20 minute explanation.

BOOM ! The very FIRST cage I looted, then Pole dropped. Bauhaha ! What makes it even more ironic is my wifey further up this thread also got her's a few week prior on her first drop as well.

Using gatherer helps as well(you can keep track of each spot). I have gotten this pole prolly 6 times now for diff people and it has taken anywhere from 5 minutes to around 2 hours. Last time I got it was today. I finished in bout 20 minutes and having 42 shellfish. other times I have finished with 200+ the one nice thing about this is that it is not soulbound so you can use it for a new fisherman and once you get higher and get the Seth's pole or the arcanite one you can send this one to an alt.

I gotten this fishing pole on my 3rd try. ( 5/24/2010 ) It was very easy to get. But then I did as a level 80 :) But this fishing pole is well worth the time if you don't have the rep needed for the wotlk one, And starting out fishing. And it goes for 110g, on my server

Just did this again. I got five in less that 20 traps. One of them had a mob that dropped Ironweaver. Check out screenshot.

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Удочка can buy from any trader and is a reward from Деликатесный красный луциан (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Крепкая удочка can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Удочка Стаатса reward from Любовь к окуням in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Удочка из темной древесины fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Большая железная удочка low drop from Ловушка на моллюска.

■ Продвинутая рыбалка Ната Пэгла FC-5000 reward from Хрустогрызы, сэр! (Alliance side) and Хрустогрызы, чувак! (Horde side).

■ Удочка со стразами low drop from Сумка с блестяшками (Fishing Quest Daily in Stormwind and Orgrimmar), even a lvl 10 can obtain this item, and Мешок рыбацких сокровищ (Fishing Quest Daily in Dalaran) you must be lvl 70 and got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also if you catch the Черная акула but you are not the first person who completed it, you gain the bag in Пусть тебе улыбнется удача – в другой раз!.

■ Костяная удочка low drop from Сумка с блестяшками, same work with Удочка со стразами.

■ Счастливая удочка драконов you can get it if you are revered with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Мастерски сделанная калуакская удочка can buy from Сайрук (Dragonblight) or Танайка (Howling Fjord), you must be Exalted with Калу'ак, its the best pole with cool model and unique breathing underwater in game, you must have the expansion Wrath of the Lich King if you want this item.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.

■ Удочка семейства Блумп is no longer available in game because the Груббер Блумп disappear on events of cataclysm, so Удочка Стаатса and the Джонатан Стаатс replaced them.

Itens on PTR of Warlords of Draenor expansion:

■Дренейская удочка its a item sold by Nat Pagle from Garrison of Alliance in Shadowmoon Valley, you must unlock him in order to purchase it, counting with the lure it will increase 40 fishing skill.

■Яростная удочка Horde equivalent, but now it will sold in Frostfire Ridge on Garrison of Horde.

■[Эфемерная удочка has the high fishing skill on the game, however its temporarily in "online time" doenst depend of "character time played", fished from the waters of draenor, even a level low can adquire this item.

If people are still interested in getting this particular fishing pole, then I just want to mention that the Noggenfogger Elixirs are quite useful. The elixirs don't have a unique stack size (compared to the Potion of Water Breathing) but you have to be at least level 35.

Just got 3 of these within 10 traps. Im guessing the drop rate has increased tremendously as of the last patch or so. Price for these should drop off alot if the rate has been increased.

I went to Desolace to get a pole for an alt. I could see the shellfish traps but I could not select or open them. I went to Shadowprey Village and picked up the Fish in a Bucket quest, but still could not select or open the traps.

For those of you having trouble looting the traps you have to have the quest Fish in a Bucket to loot the traps, BUT as you open the traps do not loot the shellfish. Once you have the 5 shellfish it will not let you loot the traps anymore and you would have to abandon the quest and pick it up again.

Just for some clarity, you can currently only get this pole if you're on a Horde alt and are able to pick up the Fish in a Bucket quest at Shadowprey Village.

The traps are non-interactable without the active quest in your log. If you complete and turn in the quest, you won't be able to get the pole on that alt, so don't do it! What I did was keep opening until I got the five Shellfish, then dropped the quest. Re-acquired the quest and tried again. Took me three times doing this to get the pole.

I tried the advice of simply not looting the Shellfish, but the trap remained sparkling and never disappeared, therefore it would never reset until someone else came along and took the fish.

I don't know when this change to the traps was made, but I was able to farm up this pole for an alt just fine during Cataclysm without having any quest in my log, Horde or Alliance. It appears others were able to farm the cages just fine without the quest previously in MoP, so this change must be somewhat recent, intended behavior or not.

Today (5/12/2014) I picked up the quest and when I got the first shellfish I deleted it. It removed the quest from my log.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I just got the Big Iron Fishing Pole from the Shellfish Trap. I did have to accept the quest Fish in a Bucket from Jinar'Zillen. Every time I got 5 fish for the quest, I destroyed them, and the picked up the quest again. Did this about 5 or 6 times, finally finding my pole inside one of the Shellfish Traps. I should also note I was playing a Horde character to get the quest. Before having the quest, I could not interact with any of the traps.

Looks like you can fish these up in Draenor now, just caught one in Gloomshade Grove in Shadowmoon Valley.

I think things have changed now in how you can get this pole. With the advent of Warlords, and the previous posting, looks like the new home for the Big Iron Pole is with the big Iron Horde in Draenor. I ran this quest (fish in a bucket) all afternoon through two football games and all I have to show for it are six pair of skanky trash boots, one trash bow, one trash club, and ONE green. Everything else that came out of the traps were the shellfish for the quest and the Drysnaps that spawn. My guess is that since the pole is IRON that's what Blizz did with it. I've done this quest many times so I could sell this particular pole on the AH and with the amount of time I spent on this quest today I should have 20 to 30 poles to show for it. I got ZILCH! Makes me sad :( I'd be interested in knowing if Blizz changed the stats as well or if they're still the same. If anyone has any more new info on this pole I'd appreciate a posting...as I'm sure many other players would as well. Thanks.

The drop rate for this pole when fishing in Draenor has been nerfed big time. I haven't gotten one of these since the first few months of WoD going live.

I decided to try to get a couple of so poles for alts the old fashioned way, via the Bucket quest in Shadowprey Village. Several hours later and multiple alts, not a single pole was gained.

Might have been bad RNG, but I'm wondering if the pole was removed from the traps loot table since it now can be rarely fished up in Draenor.

It's easier to get then finishing in Draenor. There is a quest in Desolace at Shadowprey Village, a troll village on the west coast of Desolace. A troll on the dock named Jinar' Zillen has the quest called (Fish in a Barrel). You can keep trying till you get a Big Iron Fishing Pole, you just have to abandon the quest and get it again after you've collected the 5 (Bloodbelly Fish), because you can't open the traps once you've collected the fish. (Do not turn in the quest when completed, just abandon it, and pick it up again).
I got mine on the first trap, I accepted quest (Fish in a Barrel), swam down to closest trap south side of the dock and blamo. Then I abandoned the quest after getting the 5 fish, and picked it up again. When I picked up the quest the 3rd time I got a 2nd Big Iron Fishing Pole, from the same trap, the one closest to south side of dock. (Coincidence?) Maybe.
Spent 10-15 minutes tops.

The Ловушка на моллюска that drop the Большая железная удочка used to be lootable all the time. Now, you have to be on the quest Рыбка в ведерке which means that now, only Horde can farm these traps. Don't turn the quest in if you want to keep farming these. You will have to drop the quest when it is ready to turn in and reacquire it, you no longer have visible quest fish to toss.

However, both factions can now fish up the Big Iron Fishing Pole in Draenor.

The Big Iron Fishing Pole doesn't bind, so it can be purchased and sold in the auction house.

As of 12/8/2016 This pole still comes from the quest in Desolace. I did the quest three times and it drop from the cage. I would consider shift clicking on the cages. Then swim to other cages you have not opened yet. Then when you think you covered the area loot or just drop the quest. Then start again. On a side note I stop after two times and on my flight path I saw washed up shore pools in Desolace. Fished them to see what would drop. No luck. Coming back to start the quest again and on my second cage I got it.

In the past I've done this over the years. Its hard one to farm. Good luck to you all. I do have a screenshot. Yet I'm not very good at doing that sort of thing anymore.

As of this writing, the Big Iron Fishing Pole is no longer available in Desolace shellfish traps as a farm-able object. Indeed, the shellfish traps no longer open. I cannot confirm whether the quest to obtain shellfish from these traps is still viable. I thought to obtain one for a new toon.

If you are farming this open the cages with shift held down and don't loot the quest item, otherwise after 5 fish you have to abandon the quest an pick it up again. The old way of opening the traps has been thwarted because you can't interact with the traps after you have your 5 fish. Also do this on a 70+ character as there are mobs around who will attack you.

A character with water breathing or potions for underwater breathing will also help.

For those wishing for a more 'planned' route, here are the location of the cages.

Note: This requires the addon TomTom. Use the app Twitch to download and install it.

Due to limitations of the macros, the location list is split into two macros. The '/cway' at the end of the second macro tells TomTom to go to the next closest point.

The pole drops from the trap NOT from the occasional lobster that pops. Alliance players: The Shellfish can be safely tossed No vendor value. (They're used for a Horde quest.)

Occasionally TomTom won't go to the next point, even though it's showing 0 yards. Right click the TomTom arrow and select Remove Waypoint.

Horde players: you will have to accept the quest Fish In a Bucket before you can loot the Shellfish Traps. No clue if the traps are lootable if you have already completed the quest. Alliance players: The traps are lootable without having a quest. Yea!

The pole has a 5% drop rate. If you believe that, with 20 traps listed above you should get your pole in two runs (40 traps). Yeah, right...

It took me 67 traps before I got the pole, so I think the "5%" rate is quite a lot too high.

As a Horde character, having to drop and re-acquire the Quest is a real pain, so I was doing this "2-boxing" using a druid grouped with another character level 30+ -- I shared the quest to the other character then whenever it "completed" I abandoned it and shared it back from the other character. Using the Jamba Quest addon I could automatically accept the quest, saving a little time.

Yes, it can still be looted from shellfish traps by a Horde character with the quest 'Fish In A Bucket'. Just keep dropping the quest and picking it back up. Don't give up!
