выловил эту удочку в ашенвале, пока качал фишинг. Вместе с ней выловилось еще около семи стаков рыбы, из чего делаю вывод, что шанс меньше 0,5%.
Если конкретно - рыбачил в Ясеневом Лесу, на координатах 93.73

Начал ловить удочку в Красногорье на крайнем помостике по координатам 25.9 - 47.0. Сделал 317 забросов, после чего решил отдохнуть.

Затем ради разнообразия я решил отправиться в Ашенваль (Ясеневый Лес) на координаты 35.0 - 65.1, где сделал 124 заброса.

На 124-ом забросе выловил удочку, причём был весьма шокирован этим, так как ловил в расслабленном состоянии, даже не надеясь на то, что выловлю её так рано.

В итоге я сделал 441 заброс, после чего стал счастливым обладателем желанной удочки. Из этого я могу сделать вывод, что мне очень повезло, что я выловил её так рано. Я изначально рассчитывал на 3000+ забросов и часы безрадостного фарма, но в кои-то веке мне повезло.

Всё, что я могу посоветовать тем, кто решил выловить эту удочку: делайте передышки. Старайтесь найти себе другие дела в игре или в жизни, на которые можно будет отвлечься после определённого промежутка времени, потраченного на ловлю. Вообще этот способ эффективен для многих типов фарма (ну, кроме фарма маунтов в инстах и рейдах, обновляющихся только через значительное колличество времени).

Также советую менять локации, где вы ловите удочку. Благо здесь, на Вовхеде, перечислен их полный перечень. "Разнообразие - вот что придаёт вкус жизни!"

P.S. На всю ловлю я потратил весь день с 12 часов утра до 9 часов вечера, при этом делал как большие передышки в несколько часов, так и небольшой отдых в 15 минут.

Выловил.
Ясеневый лес (35.02 ; 66.35).
Понадобилось примерно 450 забросов.
Начал качать рыбалку, потом решил попытать удачу и продолжил рыбачить тут.
На 270-ом навыке рыбной ловли выпала удочка.
Делал большие перерывы несколько раз.

I fished until my bags were full 20x16x4 = 1280+ casts at the spot close to the 2 broken pillars in Ashenvale on the southfury river. I fished up 2 greens, which I destroyed, minus a few healing potions and the offhand catfishes. This pole is elusive. I will try again at a different location tonight.

Paying 100g for it on Firetree. Stourm / Galatian / Mancer / Bootleg. Hit me up.

I fished this up randomly in Redridge a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't trying to get it (in fact, didn't even know about it), but from the sounds of things it might be fairly rare.

Don't be taken in by the people saying it dropped on the 10th cast. This is an extremely rare drop. Farming it does not offer enough collateral benefit to be worthwhile. The best one can do is increase the likelyhood of a drop by fishing in the appropriate zones when necessary.

Please correct me if I am mistaken about the drop rates for this item.

Returning to the game after a few months' break, I fished up two of these in a row. Thinking they were a very common new drop or something, I was surprised by how rare they supposedly are.

Wowhead lies, they have a different model, with a surprisingly dark, woodish texture. Uploading a shot...

To put this into perspective, I've been fishing in Ashenvale at the south lake for about 2 1/2 hours now (Yes, I'm multitasking doing other things too ;)). I've caught nearly 300 fish (I honestly stopped counting at 280), and this thing still hasn't dropped, so yes, the drop rate is really low.

So low in fact, that I'm about to hit 225 as I type this. When I started I was around 143 ;)

I fished mine up tonight from the lake around the Ruins of Stardust in Ashenvale Forest. I had cast about 40-50 times and caught it on the last cast before my lure ran out and had a double take moment since I had caught it with my Strong Fishing Pole. Guess fishing while I waited for my friend was worthwhile!

For anyone who is doubting the rarity of this item, -349 Catfish, 213 Mudsnappers, 2 healing potions, 1 mana potion, 1 pair of boots, a cloak, a 19lb catfish, 20 sagefish, and 3 waterproof trunks... no pole. unless u get it out of sheer luck, u could certainly get a better pole an easier way. Farming it is for serious collectors only.

Update! Does anyone know if this is still even in game? SERIOUSLY! over the last three monthes, I have spent 60 hours, total, fishing in Arathi highlands. Ive caught nearly 14,000 items. Statistically, I should have at least 3 of them by now! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Удочка can buy from any trader and is a reward from Деликатесный красный луциан (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Крепкая удочка can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Удочка Стаатса reward from Любовь к окуням in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Удочка из темной древесины fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Большая железная удочка low drop from Ловушка на моллюска.

■ Продвинутая рыбалка Ната Пэгла FC-5000 reward from Хрустогрызы, сэр! (Alliance side) and Хрустогрызы, чувак! (Horde side).

■ Графитовая удочка Сета reward from Без рыбалки (Shattrath City).

■ Пандаренская удочка you can get it if you are honored with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.

■ Удочка семейства Блумп is no longer available in game because the Груббер Блумп disappear on events of cataclysm, so Удочка Стаатса and the Джонатан Стаатс replaced them.

Itens on PTR of Warlords of Draenor expansion:

■Яростная удочка Horde equivalent, but now it will sold in Frostfire Ridge on Garrison of Horde.

■[Эфемерная удочка has the high fishing skill on the game, however its temporarily in "online time" doenst depend of "character time played", fished from the waters of draenor, even a level low can adquire this item.

To give an overview of actual chance to drop, adding all recorded catches and actual poles caught, the current average drop rate would be around 1:6611. If you fish in say Redridge with a higher drop rate it is still around 1:3500 chance.

Consider that next time you pull one up 10th cast :) And if you aim to fish on up, be prepared for a long haul.

Ive caught approximately 850 fish in Ashenvale over a 2 day period and Iam still fishing for it.

Ok, so I can confirm that this does still drop as of patch 6.0.2. I caught mine on 10/19/14 at Lake Everstill, in Redridge Mountains. Coordinates are 25.36, 44.96.

I have fished for this pole for a long time, but during this session:

-307 Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
-191 Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
-2 Raw Sagefish (from a pool)
-2 Stranglekelp (from a pool)
-1 17 Pound Catfish
-1 19 Pound Catfish
-1 Darkwood Fishing Pole
(I have many more attempts than this in total! So you may get yours sooner, but most likely it will take many more attempts than this sample.)

As I said, I have been fishing for this pole for a long time. The purpose of this post is to perhaps help players out who have been searching for it as well. Also, to confirm that this does still drop as of 6.0.2. I hope you find this information useful and good luck on your search!

Got it today (06 Nov 14). When I looked at the places where the pole has been fished up, I could count on two hands the number of times I did any open water casts in all those areas combined, which means this is as clean a handful of stats as I can throw at you. After reading the comments below, I put all my armor in the bank, got out the fishin' outfit, went to Lake Everstill and settled in for a long stretch. Three days later, I succeeded. Fellow fishermen, my haul:

2,005 x Raw Bristlewhisker Catfish
1,037 x Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper
2 x Bloated Catfish
7 x 17 Pound Catfish
4 x 19 Pound Catfish
3 x 22 Pound Catfish
1 x 26 Pound Catfish (this was fish #2,248)
1 x 32 Pound Catfish (fish #1,951) and it netted me One That Didn't Get Away
2 x Healing Potion
7 x Mana Potion
1 x Fortified Gauntlets (of the Bear)

1 x Schematic: EZ-Thro Dynamite
1 x Precision Bow

And of course, 1 x Darkwood Fishing Pole

Some random observations:

1. Starting somewhere in-between 10 pm and 11 pm, the instances of casts resulting in the bobber not moving, or moving and then displaying "No fish are hooked" rises significantly and stays that way until late morning.

2. When did Everstill Lake become such a popular hang-out for Night Elf druids?

3. About twice an hour, for a brief second or two, a purple backpack would appear on my character's back. As soon as Wowhead approves the screenshot I'll link it. I'd love it if someone could tell me if that had to do with the act of fishing, or with my outfit, or with Redridge Mountains somehow. Mostly I want to know if I can make that a permanent part of my fishing outfit.

What on earth am I going to do with 3,000+ fish? Anyone need catfish? Anyone at all?

I went to Ashenvale because I remembered that someone wrote, there is bigger chance in more forested areas than in less. I don't believe much in that theory, it will be probably just RNG. But for me, decision to go for Ashenvale was good.

I just fished one up in Duskwood, Loc: The Darkened Bank (87,13). This is very close to the bridge to Redridge Mountains. Had no idea this pole even existed, just a need to level my fishing & cooking up before moving on to STV. Also, best place that I ever fished for Bristle Whisker Catfish! 44 catfish, 15 mud snapper, a bloated catfish that had swallowed a moss agate, a mana potion & the Darkwood Fishing Pole. I'm a very happy fisher!

I see there hasn't been a comment update for a couple years. I figured I should post so that people are aware. I fished this pole up FINALLY this past week. I used a tried and true area the lake at The Ruins of Stardust in Ashenvale 34, 65. Stood on the boulder and fished and fished. I've fished for this pole on and off for many years. Few hours here, few hours there its drop chance is so low I never actually think I'm going to fish it up. I was shocked when I heard a knocking sound into my bags and looked down to see it sitting in there lol. This completed my collection I now have every obtainable Horde fishing pole in the game, until Shadowlands releases anyways. I enjoy the look of this one. Its just a normal fishing rod, but has a reskinned unique coloring on it, with a darkened wood with bronze reel accents. Its actually quite pleasant.

I took it down to STV today for the fishing tourney (I'll try and submit a pic) (tourney which I won again today!) I grabbed an eternium fishing line (I have all the big prizes already) to throw on the pole to give it an additional +5 (I'm doing this for all my poles) and stayed down there to fish up Dezian Queenfish to get more line for my other poles as well (caught 2, its been a good fishing day)

I am attempting to acquire the Darkwood Fishing Pole in 9.1.5 and thought the results may be useful to anyone else doing the same, so I'm posting here.

Got one today while fishing for 32 pound catfish
I was fishing in Astranaar in Ashenvale right behind the fly master.
It took around 10k tries to get... really rare to say at least.

Caught today at 7:46am CST on Friday, April 8th at 56.32, 55.24 in the boat on the small lake south of Tarren Mill, Hillsbrad Foothills.

I never thought my comment would be here added to those who caught it, but it happened today at the very start of this session, on the 65th cast. I've spent many hours/days at this same spot fishing for it (love the scenery and easy to get to) and highly recommend it if you're going after the pole too.

The “holy grail” antique item for collectors. Usually zero are posted on any U.S realms. The amount of raw farming this takes to get, may as well be a world drop in rarity. Id set a gold value at 2-5mil. I would of easily paid this amount if I did not have to transfer to a different realm to purchase.

One of the best fishing poles in the game imo, and one of the hardest to get ahold of. Rarely seen on the AH too, though I managed to spot one for sale on my realm. It is a pricey thing to buy.
