Wow, this is a DPS casters wet dream. *drools* =P~~~ This is the new best in slot for every caster DPS and pairing it with
Heroic DFO
is just a massive amount of haste.
I wish normal and Heroic trinkets still didnt share an Item ID, because wearing both would be insane.

I think that if you can get your hands on a H DFO you probably have a good amount of ICC gear, and pairing H DFO with this would be a haste overload. i.e. H Phylactery and this will probably be the BiS unless of course you have no DoTs

~287 SP if it procs after the 45sec ICD has finished.
(15/45)
Very close to HC DFO, with the haste put into perspective I'd say they're probably equal.

Does the trinket proc if a DK has it equipped while being in Lichborn and casting a Death Coil on himself.
Is that considered a damaging spell if it's used to heal himself?
Well you're not answering my question. I'm just wondering how the spell mechanics work.
I think you should read a bit more about your class. DKs do NOT use spellpower, period. All DK spells are boosted by attack power. Honestly, if you don't know at least that much, the chances of your getting into a
heroic
25 man Ruby Sanctum raid is not good, which is where this trinket drops.
Please see this topic for why you're being a nub:

Oh joy. More haste. Moonkins everywhere are facepalming.
Edit. 4.0 hit and my wraths are no longer GCD capped. WHAT WHAT WHAT? Trinket now appropriate for all casters. :)

It winds up being slightly more spellpower than hDFO, assuming the same proc chance, as 861 * 15 > 1210 * 20 / 2 (12915 > 12100). Admittedly, it's only better by 815 spellpowerseconds (translates into 18.1 sp over 45 seconds). The difference lessens as the time between procs increases, but luckily CTS has the answer to that! It has roughly 8% more haste than hDFO, which means more procs if everything else is the same. So long story short, it's a bit better than hDFO, but only by about 7 item levels.
On a side note, DFO's longer proc time means it's more likely that it will be interrupted by some boss mechanic. 33% more likely, in fact, and to boot only the last 6ish seconds of hDFO's proc are stronger than CTS, so it's more likely that you'll lose the bit that makes DFO competative with CTS. Food for thought.
Edit: redid the math. Original math was faulty, as it assumed hDFO's average stacks while procced was 5, not 5.5. The real SPs difference is 395 in hDFO's
favor
, equating to ~8.78 SP. So really, it comes down to which is most useful to your class and if you're going to be interrupted during your proc. I'll see if I can do a breakdown for shadow priests (the caster dps I dabble with) at some point, though having both would not be a bad thing for shadow priests...
