На мой взгляд этот щит хуже чем щиты из ИВК 10 (с Анубарака) и ИВК 25 с Нордскольских чудовищ.
Из-за отсутствия сокета. Но этот щит куда лучше щитов из ИК10/25.
Так что если Вы в свое время пропустили ИВК - это ваш выбор.

щит действительно не очень но из-за легкости получения (всего 3 босс в ЦЛК) становится самым доступным после щита из залов

The image for this shield is amazing. The stats are as well. As a strictly "PuG" Tanker (Raid Dps) I've not come across items that have remotely come close to this one. The mixture of Parry and Block value should truly help when I hit Icecrown and there's the Dodge-Eater.

Besides, you can never go wrong with Block Value. As a Warrior Tank, I tend to Block a LOT to begin with. Extra damage I'm not taking makes me happy.

Equip: Increases your shield block rating by 37 (2.26% @ L80).

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, It's block rating, not BV. As you stack more and more block rating, the percentage of attacks you block have a higher chance. As you stack more block value, each block you do mitigates larger amounts of damage.

Thank goodness they fixed the orientation on the shield. For the longest time in shots of it from the ptr when worn it was flipped.

Didnt seem much of an UG from the 10 ToC Shield imo so passed it to the other tank when it dropped.
A bit of parry and defense upgrade
but b. value for b rating? meh.
and a bit of stam drop as well with the toc's blue socket and 6 stam bonus
Open for suggestions on if i should eventually pick it up, but for now it doesnt seem to big of an upgrade

I think it's supposed to resemble a Frost Wyrm, which also would explain the "frosty breath animation."

As others have stated, this is about on pair with the shield from Anub'Arak(normal 10-man). While Block Rating doesn't seem like such an useful stat, being able to block even a small amount of damage is nice, and the higher chance the better.

Note; this not saying that Block Rating is superior to Block Value

EDIT: Changed information to specify I was talking about the normal mode of Anub'Arak

First things first: Chill of the Throne (a flat -20% to dodge) does not effect the relative values of avoidance or mitigation stats at all. It simply means that all tanks will have less raw avoidance and the fights in Icecrown can be tuned accordingly, and should not change the way we gear.

As a paladin, I admit to being somewhat underwhelmed by this shield. The block rating would have been better spent on avoidance, stamina, or mitigation. The excess of block rating and the deficit of block value in comparison to the ToC shields mean this shield is not ideal for boss tanking OR for trash tanking. Avoidance gains are nominal in comparison to the ToC shields, as well. The loss of stamina compared to the ToC/ToGC10 and ToGC25 shields is difficult to stomach. The armor from ilevel budget is where this shield excels, but the tank stats could have been better distributed.

A good shield for current content? Definitely. A great shield? No, not really. Think twice before grabbing this as an upgrade to a 232 or 245 shield.

Finally I have upgraded to this from Wall of Terror which I used all thru nax, uld, and toc due to prot being my offspec and few shield drops.

I GAINED:
26 Sta
17 Str
597 Armor
6 Block (0.37%)
16 Block value
45 Parry (0.91%)

I LOST:
24 Dodge (0.61%)
A better looking shield

I prefer large shields much more for looks, this shield I dont think looks very cool at all on my undead warrior but it will have to do. It is pretty much a straight upgrade from ANY 232 shield, I find it somewhat humerous the level that people go to exagerate how this shield is not an upgrade from 232 shields when it clearly is an upgrade for every 232 shield. The important thing when looking a shield is the armor that it gives, I dont think a hundreth of a percent of dodge loss/gain or a few stam is in anyway signifcant, the true bennifit of a shield is only one stat ARMOR..

Every week I run ICC10 with my guild, and every week I hope this baby drops since I'm still using the 219 shield from Halls of Reflection and getting Neverending Winter would be a HUGE upgrade for me. I have yet to see it :(

Also known as "Neverdropping Winter". 27 lootship victories on 10-man (6 of them on heroic) since Icecrown Citadel relase and I've never seen this shield drop in either version. I'm starting to think all the tanks in 232 gear running around with this got it someplace else.

I just want to add that warriors have it a bit different thanks to Critical block and Shield Block

lets say you can block 2k damage when you block, thanks to Critical Block, you could stop 4k instead. So you would be stopping more than 1-2k, assuming you are geared well for tanking. However, when you use the ability Shield Block, your BV is doubled. Meaning, the 2k damage would stop when you blocked is now 4k. Now when Critical Block happens, you stop 8k thanks to this.

This is huge damage reduction, and a 20k hit is reduced to 12k, or if Critical Block doesn't work on the block thanks to its 60% chance, it will still stop 4k and you will take 16k damage. So 12k or 16k hit is what you would be getting hit with. In other words, a 40% damage reduction or 20% damage reduction. This is alot of damage reduction. This is why most warriors are hitting Shield Block in boss fights or even when they pull mobs.

Now, block rating will give you a higher chance to block 2-4k damage. Not much, but it is still good. If you some how managed to get enough BV to stop 4k per hit(not sure if this can be done) and have Critical Block stop 8k without Shield Block even being used. So, it cant be said it is useless, but parry rating will stop 100% of the damage. If you had a choice between them and the amount adds up to give you the same percent chance, you should take the parry rating.

Safe to say, since this shield has both parry and block rating, it is a very good tanking shield. Mainly for people going in to tanking ICC.

Everyone who's on the lookout for this babe, consider getting Wrathful Gladiator's Shield Wall. You gain 61 Stamina and 251 Armor, while losing some avoidance and a bit of threat. Can be picked up for 70 honor (which is an absolute bargain) and the arena rating required doesn't apply any more. You can buy it even though its red.
