I've got a question as to how the proc works.

"Equip: Your offensive spells have a chance on hit to increase your spell power by 285 for 10 sec."

I figure at the time of casting a spell, this is the time when this ring can proc? I ask this because I know some things proc when the spell hits, some can even proc from a tick, like the tailoring cloak enchant which can proc from dot and hot ticks.

Basically asking if this does indeed only proc when a cast ends, instant or with a timer.

I'd like to add that I was able to have this effect proc after casting Curse of the Elements, which is not an actual damaging spell. I suppose by "offensive spells", they literally mean everything that isn't a helpful spell. In other words, if you can cast it on a hostile NPC or player, it has a chance to proc.

i foresee a bug patch soon for these rings. i play a shadow/disc priest and ive noticed that things like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47271] and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40685] tend to activate when i cast penance for dmg. ive also had dps trinkets activate from oddly enough, power word shield, example being http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47213]. y this happens idk but it does

Proc's buff name is: Frostforged Sage

In case you use PowerAuras or some other aura monitoring addon.

I'm doubting the "10% proc chance". It seems to proc at the beginning of every fight, during my first or second spell. And I mean EVERY time.

Endless destruction! Burn, freeze, torment with arcane, wither flesh, drain every thing, firing yours lasor, electrocuting, errmm....holying - the possibilities are as endless as destruction is.

I had to say it, sorry. And one more thing, didn't I forget any means of magical destruction?

Edit: Thanks, dpedroia15bosox, I forgot holy. Well, as a sorcerer, I hate paladins anyway - WoW inquisition is nowhere near the Spanish one.

Upgrading from the Revered version, Ashen Band of Unmatched Destruction, you get:

7 Stamina
7 Intellect
1 Hit Rating
1 Haste Rating
1 Yellow Socket with a +5 SP Socket Bonus

(Spell power and proc remain the same between the two rings)

If you deleted your Ashen Band, Ormus the Penitent will restore it for you for free. Simply choose "I appear to have lost my ring" after interacting with the NPC.

I do not think the proc from this ring will work in Cata Timewalking dungeons. Skada shows a 16.4% uptime with a buff of just 1 spell power.
*Edit Further tests show the buff at 42 spell power and the uptime between 16% and 18%. Even with the low uptime the socket still makes this a decent choice for Cataclysm Timewalking.
