Since we won't be seeing this in game for quite some time to come, anybody have any guesses as to the ICD associated with the proc? I'm guessing one minute (two at most). One minute with a 20s duration seems a tad OP though...
Guess we won't really know until testing comes out.

As I posted for the heroic version, the true ICD of most trinkets in Icecrown is three times the duration, so 60 seconds in this case. It will likely have a low chance to proc though, so the average proc rate might be 75 seconds. If that's correct, this trinket would have an average of 244.8 SP. Definitely superior to Muradin's Spyglass.

It has a 30% chance to proc
Siphoned Power
. You can tell from
here
.
The internal cooldown has yet to be determined, although 45 seconds seems likely, as that is what most other trinkets has.

Well, i dont think arcane mages will want this as it procs off of periodic damage. Which i dont think arcane missles or barrage count. I could be wrong tho
You're correct. It does not proc off Arcane Missles nor Barrage. Neither spell has a debuff dealing periodic damage associated with it. Only spells that apply an actual debuff to the mob which then deals periodic ticks will trigger the proc on this trinket.
It would be decent for a fire mage since the proc rate is so high (30%), but I'm afraid an arcane mage would get very little use out of this, since they'd have to break their optimal rotation in order to activate this. Arcane mages would be better off with the following:
Reign of the Dead
Scale of Fates
Embrace of the Spider
Muradin's Spyglass
Talisman of Resurgence
Dislodged Foreign Object

Oh boy, this looks tasty for demolocks. 1k sp for me and 100sp for every other caster. I guess this also puts even more value on haste (which is practically as valuable as SP to me atm) to make the most of those 20secs.
Oh boy!

This has an ICD of 90 seconds, proc rate is good 5-10s in a raid setting after ICD is up.

basiclly it doesnt benefit classes/specs with a various dots more than those with only a single dot..
Maybe you should read up on procs, before you talk. =/
More DoTs = higher chance to proc when the ICD is finished = more uptime.
it DOES benefit multi-DoT classes more than single-DoT classes.

Got this today and after some testing at the training dummies it seems to be 100s internal cooldown. Had 9 dot's rolling on three different targets and had the buff 00:05-00:25, 01:45-02:05, 03:25-03:45 and 05:05-05:25.
Given this, the sp value (in the very best scenario) is (20/100)*918=
183,6
and after the patch (20/100)*1074=
214,8
Edit: Time numbers are +- 1-2s, used the built in /timer and used no fancy logs

Warlocks, why is there a 10 second delay from ICD off and proc?
Just out of curiosity how many dots and how frequent are the ticks for a Lock geared at this kind of level of content?
Cheers

On Live realms as of 3.3.3 this trinket's proc now gives 1074 spellpower instead of the listed 918.

You're also factoring in that each fight is a fight that you'll be constantly DPSing one target, all the time...so leave out Gunship, Valithria, Sindragosa, and LK.
...and Marrowgar (especially in heroic with spikes up throughout, including during Bone Storm) and Deathwhisper (adds *might* be ignorable in normal, but they're even more of an issue on heroic) and Saurfang (adds have TONS more hp on heroic, you can't ignore them even as a dot class) and Putricide (adds again) and Princes (lots of target switching on normal and heroic)...
The point is, the gimmicky mechanics that make NMIC so good in many situations completely fall apart on most ICC bosses, especially on hard modes. The Phylactery is a much better choice for that reason. Also, nearly all dots can crit now, and crit rolls, so the 3.3% base crit from Phylactery is nothing to sneeze at.
And in my opinion, for warlocks at least, balancing a starting rotation with NMIC proc and 4t10 bonus, along with everything else that's going on with ICC bosses (especially heroic modes) just isn't worth it for *most* ICC fights.
Thus, Phylactery is up there with
Dislodged Foreign Object
for bis, and both of those, along with
Muradin's Spyglass
(especially the
264 version
) easily outpace NMIC.

Or would u rank heroic spyglass and DFO ahead of it?

How about a Holy or Disc preist using one of these? They could watch the CD and throw both dots on a boss just before its off or after its off CD just before something nasty hits the raid. Becuase they would only be useing dots to activate the trinket, they would have complete control over when it procs. With a relatively high proc chance (30%), this might actually be worthwhile, possibly even BIS for throughput.
Currently, Healers have exactly ONE pure throughput trinket above ilevel 219, and that is Althor's Abacus. For those of us, and for those fights where mana is not an issue, a second througput trinket would be perfect, rather then wasting a slot on unnecessary MP5, int, or spr. Actually dpsing (casting spells like smite) for a throughput trinket isn't a very good option , but the cost of one or two dots (instant cast) to proc it is almost negligible.

With this inc 5% buff, there will be some fights where the huge 100sec internal cool down now facilitates 1 less proc, due to fights getting shorter, this includes the average times to proc by the different dot classes, napkin math.
SP's 5- secs.
Locks 5 secs.
Fire mages 10- secs.
Others 10+ secs.
I based this on a glance at wols for a few different classes.
IE I saw a possible time to proc of 20secs for Ele shaman!
And in terms of ICC, the more buffs we get the smaller amount of procs you can expect.
Promises so much, delivers a little less.

Since it procs off DoTs, wouldn't it technically work for Frost Mages as well? Seeing as how Frostfire bolt is part of their rotation whenever Brain Freeze is up.
And inb4 "Why would a mage be raiding as Frost?" As long as the person is enjoying him or herself, and is getting the job done, it shouldn't matter. :p

A lich phylactery contains a lich's soul. As long as a Lich's phylactery remains intact and undamaged, the lich will eventually regenerate its body and return to life.
So anytime a Lich can just pop up in your pocket?
Комментарий от
Aspic
It is terrible for arcane mages (lose a ton of damage to get effect up and crit isn't a great stat anyway) but it is
great
for fire mages. They'll have three dots up at all times: living bomb ticks, pyro ticks, and an ignite. Additionally crit trades even (roughly) with SP and haste for fire mages.

This is prob wrong, just something i did rly fast in the head>.>
Would this possibly be the calculations? Seeing you proc "instantly" once the ICD is down(everything later is just loss)
the Sp provided/ICD*duration= the passive amount
1074/100*20=214,8=215 passive SP.
By just confing the ICD(100) to the ICD it has for certains classes on should determine what the passive SP is?
This is pure speculation, don't flame me!:(

correct comment about mages and this trinket.it's true that arcane mage does not get much benefit from this, while this trinket is almost the best one for a fire mage, since most of it's spell add a dot(periodic dmg) on the target.and also talents like ignite go really nice with this trinket,to cut it short it's not recommended for arcane mages and it's specially a vital trinket for a fire mage.
