This trinket will proc off of HOTs (renew in my case) and can crit off of HOTs. Bandaging will also proc it along with Glyph of Power Word: Shield and Blessed Healing (the Priest T10 2pc set bonus, so far a pretty disappointing spell). This trinket will NOT proc Divine Aegis if it crits ,
nor will it proc off of damage induced healing such as Vampiric Embrace or Devouring Plague

May be a an incredible trinket for druids if it can proc off of Wild Growth, No word right now on what the internal cooldown is on this if it even has one but assuming its likely a 45 second cool down it could still be a nice and very impressive raid healers trinket. Plus the 179 Sp on it is nothing to sneeze at!
Edit: Echoes of Light
http://ptr.wowhead.com/?spell=71610
The spell that procs has a very impressive 30% Proc chance making this a definite must have for any druid healers out there lucky enough to see it drop.

Correct. It is a smart heal with a relatively high proc chance (~30%) and a 45-second ICD. Note that these numbers are still subject to change.
It is confirmed on the PTR to proc from HOT ticks as well as direct heals. Fantastic trinket for any healer, but resto druids are likely to see the most procs from it.
Комментарий от
24587
Effects like these always have an ICD. Yes each time you cast a spell there's a chance it'll proc.. However it can't proc if it's on CD. Just like all the weapons with "chance on hit" -- by your logic it would be "Chance on every hit" which is incorrect

OK, I got this trinket tonight
Althor's Abacus
and proceeded to test it out. I used it on the
Deathbringer Saurfang
fight and here are the recount numbers etc. (as a holy priest healing the raid):
* 49 procs equaled 3.5% of my total healing done.
*Overall over-healing done from this trinket was a mere 2.3% (Gotta love SMART CAST technology!)
* 31 procs were normal hits, 18 were crits (my crit % raid buffed is 33.81% but I'm not sure if the trinket crits according to your personal crit rating or not and my spell power was 3,641)
*Max normal hit was 6,940 with an average of 5,624
* Max crit hit was 10,517 with an average of 7,810
* This trinket like many, resets the internal cooldown (45 seconds) when you equip it (or even move it from one trinket slot to the other)
* This trinket can proc on the target you are healing including the caster (you) (IE: your greater heal healed Maximus for 20K the trinket can proc heal him at the same time even if there are other people near you... as long as they have more health than Maximus even if you are Maximus IE: the caster)
* This trinket will proc off of HOTs (renew in my case) and can crit off of HOTs.
Bandaging
will also proc it along with
Glyph of Power Word: Shield
and
Blessed Healing
(the Priest T10 2pc set bonus, so far a pretty disappointing spell). This trinket will NOT proc
Divine Aegis
if it crits , nor will it proc off of damage induced healing such as
Vampiric Embrace
or
Devouring Plague
.
* The proc is called
Echoes of Light
and it does get recorded as your healing done in
Recount
* This trinket is really awesome for arena! It averaged 7.9% of overall healing done after 10 3v3 arena matches at the 2200 match making level, and the proc has saved my life on at least one occasion so far)

This is most likely an homage to Rand Al'Thor, the main character in Robert Jordans' Wheel of Time epic fantasy series. Robert Jordan passed away fairly recently prior to finishing the series. A very nice way of Blizzard tipping their hat in recognition of Robert Jordans' influence in the Fantasy genre, be it book or games.
p.s. The series is now being finished by Brandon Sanderson, who is doing a very fine job of it.

Interesting thing for Shaman is when i cast ghost wolf i get a 33% chance to proc the item everytime i regen health as a wolf (not using the glyph that regens extra health).
This makes the trinket very powerful in pvp for shamans as usually shifting to GW is due to being put under pressure so the 7k heal (10k crit heals) can come in very handy in those moments. Especially if you are runnning double dps and large heals are rare to pull off.
Комментарий от

I dare to claim that it would be a good warlock trinket for raiding as well. I consider it to be one of the top 5 highest DPS trinkets in the game that isn't overloaded with +hit (which is important to to me since it seems like the rest of my gear is).
And as long as it is proccing, it really doesn't make a difference whether it's in the hands of a healer in your raid or a warlock in your raid- the ultimate healing effect will be about the same... unless you have a raid healer that does absolutely nothing until there's a raid-wide AoE, in which case the odds of the trinket overhealing are slightly reduced, but that's a pretty ridiculous scenario. Moreover, giving it to the warlock allows the healer that would have used it for the additional healing effect to instead use a trinket with regen.

Some things I've noticed while healing with and testing this trinket:
The casting animation for Echoes of Light is like a Priest's Circle of Healing.
If soloing, Echoes of Light will heal the caster if nobody else is in party and within range. It will overheal if your health is near or at full.
It will proc with effective heals. As a Priest, that includes Renew, Prayer of Healing, Circle of Healing, Holy Nova, Penance, Flash Heal, Greater Heal, Binding Heal, Divine Hymn.
Casting
unglyphed
Power Word: Shield, for example, won't proc it, and Mending won't until the target takes damage and Mend itself procs. If you do have
Glyph of Power Word: Shield
, however, this trinket can proc when casting Shield.
The Priest T10 2 set bonus (
Blessed Healing
) HoT will also cause Echoes of Light to proc.
And it will proc while mounted, without dismounting the healer.

This is a very interesting straight-throughput trinket. For a holy paladin, it appears to proc off the following:
Judgement of Light
Sacred Shield HoT
Beacon heals (there's a small delay between original heal and Beacon heal, so if you watch carefully you can confirm that it's from the Beacon heal and not the original heal)
possibly Holy Light glyph, but hard to distinguish if the proc is from the HL itself or the glyph heal
...and of course, our three main heals, Small, Medium and Large (that's to say Flash of Light, Holy Shock, Holy Light).
You'd think it'd be a waste as overhealing, and might prefer a regen trinket, but if you're set on MP5 look at it this way. This thing can crit for over 10K. That's a free crit Holy Shock/instant crit Flash of Light. It procs fairly often. And it often goes to a member low on health, so it's smart. In a way, the free heals save mana while the spellpower contributes to your throughput.
With the MP5 loaded gear in ICC, I think of this as a very smart throughput trinket choice.

As a Discipline priest usually 50% on raid 50% on tank, this is really helpful as it will proc off of the glyphed PW:S heal.
It can proc off of all hots, and I see crits at 9.7k usually. It IS affected by the 3% + healing bonus Grace which stacks to 9%, and I see crits over 10k due to it.
It's an amazing trinket for pure thoroughput and if you're not in pain for mana or regen, definitely one to (try!) and get your hands on.
As said before, it does not proc Divine Aegis, and does not proc off of dps induced heals. It's a smart heal, and does have about 30% overhealing for me for my recorded information.
It's all n all, very nice, it heals about as much as a crit flash (when it does not crit) or a reg G-Heal when it crits. For the newer content, a smart heal like this can make the difference.

Well, since no one asked, anyone know if it procs off of Beacon heals? I'd assume so, since it is considered a "heal" and it doesn't specify with what types of heals. If it does, this would be amazing to heal the melee with, considering melee take a lot of incidental damage.

Комментарий от

I got this on my Shadow Priest last week. I noticed a few people posting here that is doesn't proc on VE - LIES (either they don't know what to look for, or they are healers trying to discourage DPS heal proc specs from rolling on it). It procs pretty much immediately on any healing effect if it is off ICD (45 seconds). Thus its proc effect is just as viable for that spec as any healer. It also procs for Warlocks that heal off damage (Destro, Aff). Noting the Spellpower is the same as the 264 badge trinket I'd wager this was actually supposed to be the DPS equivalent to Purified Lunar Dust (which has a definate healer proc on it that helps their ability to heal throughout the fight). The fact is the proc on this trinket is really a very minor thing in raid terms - a random heal every 45 seconds. Its like a Battlemasters trinket in that, Arenas it would be fairly good thing to have, in raids there are much better proc effects on other trinkets.
All that said, any healing class or DPS class that procs healing (Spriest, Aff/Dest Lock) may want this for the Spellpower dump that it is. But calling it a healing trinket is is a stretch, almost any other healing trinket has a more effective proc in raid terms.

Saurfang: 4.5% (woot)
Rotface: 4.5% (nice also)
Festergut: 1.3% (even worse than Trauma proc)
Average: 3.1%
It's not a pure awesomeness, nor it isn't bad, + 179 passive SP means it is currently the best holy priest throughput trinket out there right before Illustration of the Dragon Soul and Pandorra's Plea (sad, but true). If you are not running out of mana, get this trinket.

I admire that you have a unique fantasy world to twist and bend to your liking, however upon reading both the links you provided I had to leave your silly thoughts behind. GC in no way shape or form says its it not after Rand, in fact what he does say actually leaves you to believe it IS named after Rand because he is responding to people talking about the book and its main character Rand al'Thor. someone makes a reference to the fact rand isn't a healer and here is what GC says.
Also, you are not even named in the article that you are claiming names you as the person they named it after.
GG enjoy your lies, maybe a few people bought them.

I don't think it was mentioned before, but this trinket is awesome on the Valithria Dreamwalker fight because the healing is affected by the healing buff you get from going into the green portals. I had crits as high as 26k while under the healing buff (equipped on my resto shaman). Unfortunately, because I'm spamming Healing Wave on the boss for most of the fight rather than chain heals (having less spells "land") it doesn't proc as much as on some other fights.

By far one of the best trinket's available to raid healers. I got it last night and was doing a heroic this morning and noticed a few things about this trinket.
First off, the healing range which it claims appears that it may actually go lower than "advertised". I saw it proc once for about 3.5k.
Second, it crits. I noticed a 10k proc from it which landed at a very good time.
Possibly a BiS for raid-healing druids in the ICC tiers, I know I'm not going to be replacing it until I get the heroic version of it.

So I'm fairly new to formal theorycrafting, please correct me if there's something I mess up, but this is what I figure about this trinket.
The mean average heal on this tinket is perfectly 6000, it is capable of critting for 1.5x the heal putting the mean average crit at 9k. These numbers, as with all level 80 heal procs I have seen, are unaffected by bonus spellpower/healing.
On an average ICC10/25 geared healer (I specifically heal on a shaman) I think 35% crit is a safe number for the purpose of this math. I expect this would be a bit lower for a druid, a bit higher for a Paladin but we can't please everyone.
In a perfect world (something like Blood Queen) where there is no overhealing and you're rolling out heals pretty constantly, proccing this thing every time the ICD is up (every 45 seconds) you could expect 8 procs in a 6 minute fight. 35% (2.8) of them crit.
Amounting to a very averaged total of 56400 healing done over 6 minutes (~156.66_hps)
On a fight like blood queen most of our healers are doing 7-9khps so we'll say 8k, and none of them are using this trinket.
The proc from this trinket would make up about 2% of that healing.
Some people would argue that since it's a "smart" heal it will reach out and save raid members who otherwise might not get a heal in time, instantly healing the people who need it the most and making a cushion for regular healing but this is incorrect because on a raid healer this will proc almost once every 45 seconds due to it's high proc rate, it won't wait for when someone's low or even for there to be anyone to heal, it won't proc necessarily when healing is more difficult, making it's effectiveness as a fallback next to nothing. The scenario when this "smart heal" will "make the difference" is a one in a million cooincidence where the 45sec ICD lines up perfectly with one raid memeber's time of need.
It's a decent proc, and the high spell power makes this an attractive trinket for shaman and druid raid healers especially shamans enjoying their T10 4set but it's not amazing. What saves the day more frequently are activated CDs that a smart healer can sync with the stress of the fight.

And here's some stats for the remainder of the time (this is Saurfang + 2 Valkyr + trash to Valithria including Miniboss)
Procs: 23
Hit: 6090 Average, 7705 Max, count 15

Well, i am not really sure how good this trinket really is.
For sure the pure amount of spellpower is defintely useful.
But what about the proc? since it has an internal cd of 45 sec and a good chance to proc you can assume it procs almost every 45 sec. But with the high amount of healing, you have "flying around" in raids right now, it probably just produces overheal for another healer in most cases? i doubt, the proc is a lifesaver in many situations. So i just considder it good for pushing the meters. But thats exactly not, what makes a good healer.
I personally prefere trinkets with some passive mana regeneration stats and would for example rate Purified Lunar Dust higher than this one. Even if you usually dont have any mana issues a solid mana reg is never bad. But i cant imagine many situations, where a smart instant heal every ~45 sec is worth that much.
So what remains for this item is the pure spellpower in my opinion. So the desicion is: pure spellpower vs. maybe a bit less spellpower + an
usefull
effect (mana reg?)

The downside is u cannot get it to proc unless ur pet has taken damage since overhealing doesnt get the job done. Altho its really nice to keep ur pet up in arena.
So the sp is nice but the heal is difficult to use as a lock.

Maybe this is just me, but every time it drops for my Priest, and mind you I'm doing the top heals during the entire raid. It seems the lowest and crappiest healer wins this damn thing. I can never get a break and win it, Blizz must really dislike me :(.

Is that proc to druid regrowth spell?

I don't think that anyone has said it but for holy priests Lightwell HoT can proc this (also, more redundant info: Lightwell HoT can make this proc no matter if the HoT is on your or on someone else (I just created one in Dalaran and it procced when the HoT healed a random person (not in my group/raid) who used it).
So yay, rejoice. Lightwell is useful for something after all. \o

Just curious if this thing will proc off of Mend Pet...I solo a lot and if my guild is nice enough to let me have it it would be a great addition if so (After everyone who actually needs it gets it).

I am seeing an abundance of posts about druid healers and how beneficial this trinket is for that class of healers. What I need to point out is that this trinket is an exceptional piece for Druids, Priests, Shaman, or Paladins. The point is this particular piece has helped all of our healing classes not specifically one class only. This being said, enjoy raiding!

Read so many comments here on wowhead and elsewhere as well. Can someone confirm whether this proc is a smart heal or not (read prefers healing those who need it). Can't seem to get a solid answer.
