I wonder if this would be considered an upgrade for a Holy Pally. Hit rating aside, here is what each item gains in terms of healing stats if you are currently using Mariel's Sorrow.

Seethe......vs.........Mariel's Sorrow

+ 52 Haste............+ 23 MP5
+ 6 Intellect...........+ 31 Crit
+ 63 Spell Power

I would have to say gaining the stats from Seethe would definitely be an upgrade over some crit and MP5. As there are no other healing weapons currently available in the new 5 man heroics for a holy pally to use, I would look for this as an upgrade.

I (arcane mage) Just rolled need on this badboy about an hour ago, thankfully the holy pally healing the group knew this was indeed "1st option goes to caster dps" I would have blown a gasket if he had got it. Anyway, this really looks cool!

Guess I'm not the only holy pally that considered snagging this sword.
It's hard to get gear for your offspec, especially with loot from new dungeons that countless people will want.
As people have said, the hit sends this over to casters before healers, but for pallys with holy as an offspec like myself, this is a good upgrade from most things people will still be using, like the H Nexus mace, or the Titansteel craftable.

Did no one here raid Black Temple?

This is in reference to the spell cast by Essence of Anger, part of the Reliquary of Souls, who Devourer of Souls shares a model with. It was the spell that most commonly destroyed mages, making the fact that it's a caster sword even more funny.

This dropped yesterday for my Arcane mage, I got pretty excited until our holy pally needed it... /cry. Please to any Holy pally reading this, it is a dps casters weapon, since when did you NEED hit for healing? Does it have any MP5? Any spirit?... Don't deprive your mages

This is easily one of the best holy pally weapons around if you don't have access to a raid or Quel'delar. It may have Hit, but you're not going to find anything better in normal Heroics either. Complainers need to just deal with it. Not everything is itemized perfectly!

Got this on my mage today. Not too fond of the skin on it but thought +63 spell power enchant would help -- but the glow effect is not showing for the enchant? Was it intended that way? It hardly has a glow of it's own, if any. Why blizz, why? Very dissappointed.

I find it funny to see here how many paladins are spitting at Mp5, when it is our best regen stat after int, and has been superior to crit for a long while now. Feel free to downrate me, but I had to say it.

Regarding holy paladins, to echo the above, hit isn't necessarily wasted for a paladin. I've missed a judgement which consequently did not proc the haste buff from Judgements of the Pure which negatively impacted healing to not have the buff. Thus: This is not a bad upgrade for non-raiding Holy Paladins (or Holy Paladins that are gearing up for raiding), so Holy Paladins shouldn't skip over this just because it has hit for the above reason.

Pre-raid Heroic Weapons as follows:

Healers:
Priest (Discipline or Holy) - Surgeon's Needle + Shriveled Heart of course. (If hit capped then go with this for Shadow Priest)

DPS:
Affliction Warlocks - Seethe + Shriveled Heart (If hit capped then go with this for all Mage specs & the other two specs for Warlocks)
All Mage specs, Shadow Priest & the other two specs for Warlocks - Engraved Gargoyle Femur (If not hit capped)

Well, uh. Hi everyone!

On a more serious note, I've used this word as a name for a looooong time across a number of boards/games/etc. In WoW, even, it was the name of my vanilla mage until DKs came out, where I gave it to my DK. Since Transmog has come out, she now uses Seethe as her DW transmog weapon.
