These would be so much better if they looked like the shaman tier shoulders (sans the visual effect) than the hunter's tier.

Chances are you'll be using the shoulder slot for a tier piece, most likely 10, as a hunter. You want to keep your tier 9 and tier 10 2-piece boni and this is a bad choice for the one off-set item you can wear. Don't be tempted to break the 2-set with these even if you're using tier 9 straight from the vendor. The 2-set tier 9 bonus really is powerful.
