Хотел бы оказать помощь тем, кто покупает саронит для этого замечательного топора.
Я играю на сервере Азурегос, там средняя цена Древнейшего саронита равна ~650г. Иногда в чате появляются продавцы по 600г, это уж как повезёт.
Если вам лениво тратить так много голда, можете подождать, ведь всего месяц назад саронит стоил больше 1к голда.
Итак, к делу. Обьяснять способ фарма голда для каждой профессии я не буду, поэтому вот вам в помощь замечательный сайт http://www.tarouwowguides.com/. Простейшее знание англ. языка позволит вам довольно быстро получить нужное количество золота. Рекомендую вам не копить конкретную сумму, скажем 20к, а сразу покупать саронит как только получите достаточно золота. НЕ покупайте на аукционе, только с рук.

Профессия, с помощью которой я фармлю золото - Майнинг. Лучшая зона это Оло. Там очень часто попадается титановая руда. На сайте, который я указал выше, всё подробно рассказывается.

Вот, собственно, и всё. Удачи вам в фарме, и не унывайте! Неделя-другая, и вы обязательно получите этот топор.
P.S. Сам накопил уже 18 штук саронита за 4-5 дней. Если у вас есть весь нужный шмот, который покупается за баджи льда - покупайте саронит ещё и на баджи. Если нет, сначала купите всё что вам нужно за эмблемки, а потом тратте их на саронит.

Грань Тьмы для левой руки, Грань Тьмы для одной руки. Насколько я помню это оружие использует один из боссов в Рубиновом Святилище.

Usually a guild would give some support to someone working on Shadow's Edge by saving a few that drop or buying them using guild funds. Having extra 80 alts really helps.
On my server the value of the 25 Saronite is 80,000g, so people may buy gold, work harder at running the AH, or hope there guild bank has stuff in it.

The itemization on this axe is amazing - from the perspective of a warrior, it has ArPen and Crit (and if you are an Orc, you even get some Expertise to boot), the perfect socket color, wonderfully slow speed, and an equal strength/stamina spread. It probably doesn't get much better than this outside heroic mode ICC25.

Considering this, it is probably worth saving up to get this even if you never plan to progress towards Shadowmourne. A month or two down the road, Primordial Saronite will be dropping below 1000g a pop, and if you start saving/moneymaking now, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to afford it.

Yes, you can use this in arena.

No armor or weapons has ever been restricted from being equipped in arena. Items with on use is another story, and has nothing to do with Shadowmourne.

I think this weapon is worth farming all that saronite.As a death knight myself i already started doing it as i have many alts it will be no problem getting the saronite in 2-3 months from emblem vendor.

Great weapon for all specs. Unholy Death Knights and Ret pallies might want to get Bryntroll, the Bone Arbiter instead(if you aren't going for Shadowmourne) but for Blood Death Knights and Warriors, this will probably be BiS until Heroic for it being so greatly itemized for them.

I love when warriors tell ret pallies and dks wut they should use...first of all why would a ret pally desire the bone arbiter over the shadowmourne or the shadows edge for that matter...the only bonus is the faster attack speed which would enable the tics to get up faster but all your instant attack dmg and seal dmg will hit a lot less harder because of that faster attack speed. Secondly there are no other additional attributes on the bone arbiter that scale w/ our attacks to increase our dmg. All Dps have healers to heal them in battle so that proc is pretty much useless to anyone except a dk tank.

Everyone says that Arm pen is pretty much the weakest stat for ret pallies and even unholy dks for that matter but i totally disagree with that. Its true that Arm pen doesnt impact any of the seal dmg that the pallys dish out but it effects all the melee, crusader strike, and divine storm attacks. With the new T10 2 set bonus the amount of divine storm attacks is going to be nearly doubled. And if you know how to dps w/ the pally your going to have very little cooldown time w/ your rotation to increase your overall dps which a good portion of it will consume physical dmg. Also w/ every point of haste i am putting into my toon i am increasing the effectiveness of arm pen b/c i am increasing the overall total physical dmg i am doing throughout the fight. For unholy Dks now scourge strike does phys dmg so arm pen has become much more useful for them.

Just Because a stat isnt the most desired doesnt make it not useful in increasing dps and that particular stat's effectiveness is based on your entire gear's itemization. I out dps ret pallies that are 300 and 400 points higher on gear score b/c my skill, knowledge of toon and fight, and my gear's itemization (not score).

Most of what i've been hearing put Bryntroll's proc as doing more damage then Divine Storm throughout a fight. Not to mention how lousy of a stat Arpen is for ret.
Also, for all we know Bryntroll is the Armageddon of ICC, there might very well be a Betrayer of Humanity level weapon later in the instance.

TL:DR people with money/who want a legendary will get this, anyone who doesn't will be rolling with the normal or heroic bryntroll when it's accessible.

I picked up mine last night, it's already proving to be a great weapon. The Acidic Bloods from Festergut and Rotface always drop as long as there is a raid member with the quest. So, really there's no reason to "wait" on the Primordials unless funds are an issue. Interestingly the followup quest is flying by, the adds summoned by the various trash in the second wing all count, as well as the opposite faction NPCs before the gunship, and all of the NPCs on the gunship. I fully anticipate getting this knocked out around the time next wing opens up, then I can work on Unholy and Blood quests, and be prepared for the Frost one as soon as Sindragosa's wing opens.

what i would do if i was a warrior i would get the spec that lets you hold a 2h in 1h and get shadows edge and shadowmourne then you'll then have the two strongest weapons in WoW :) but my main is a dk and my alt is a lock :( well when my charas are 80 and have there tier im will get that armor you can pass to alts

Since the hotfix on Bryntroll , shadow's edge is slightly better.
As well as with the 2p bonus, it should give higher dps for rets

Just as a warning - if u go for Shadow's Edge, DO NOT HAVE BONE ARBITER IN OFF HAND. proccs too rarely to be worth it. Off hand wepon just wants to have best raw stats u can get

Finally a weapon where Blizzard doesn't throw us a curve ball that has a blue socket. They should know by now that mostly everyone uses Bold Cardinal Ruby or Fractured Cardinal Ruby

While I do agree with you for the most part. Their is actually a good reason to get it soon. Because the next quest has you killing 1000 scourge in icc. So the sooner the better for that part. But as I said no point in spending tons of money to get it now when probably around jan 12th or so the primordials will drop in price drastically.

the one thing many ppl seem to be missing is that though bryntroll is close to this.. now that we can kill the lich king we can get shadowmourne which is waaaaaaaaaayyy better than any other wep IMO
but I do understand that they made their comments beforehand and at the time they were viable.. that or you cant actually kill him for whatever reason

From what I'm seeing as far as theorycrafting goes, Heroic Bryntroll is nearly on-par with Shadowmourne for Retribution Paladins, even after the nerf to Bryntroll.

As a DK blood tank, I find this and the actual Legendary to be Best-in-Slot for EH and threat. If the primordial are easy to come by and you have a solid guild that regularly clears through plague wing, by all means - pick it up!

I've had mine for a few weeks now and it is a awsome wepon in it's own right let alone the fact it will eventually turn into the Shadowmourne. For me being a Blood DK dps I have found this wepon offers me everything I need and has allowed me to focous on other items while other people fight over the other 2H weps in ICC.

Note* I spent the best part of 30,000 gold on the saronites on EU Kul'Tiras in April to get this wep!

Got it yesterday and as a Human Ret Pally coming from Кель'Делар, Могущество верных lost on expertise (slightly... d*mn stupid racials) and some haste but raw power of the axe compensates that lost (2x20Str gems and +140AP vs undeads is nothing bad... maybe upgradeable but... as starters is not bad at all - other enchant is on the way when I get the 10 crystals).

If you check the Cataclysm version of this weapon, you'll see the ArP will be replaced with haste and some of the Str will be passed to Sta.

As of Patch 4.0.1 the hardest part of obtaining Shadow's Edge is getting all 25 Primordial Saronites - they now cost 266 Justice Points so it would take 6,650 JPs to buy all 25. If you haven't gotten Shadow's Edge already, it's probably not worth it now unless you have a lot of time and/or cash on your hands.

What the hell is with all the fail as posts telling people to go for Bryntrol? No Bryntrol was never good. You should've have been going for heroic (or even normal) Citadel Enforcer's Claymore and Ramaladni's Blade of Culling over that piece of crap axe.

And your BIS as an arms or fury warrior before you were able to get this, heroic 25 or LK weapons was CRYPTMAKER.

I wouldn't rage so much over this but not only is this post full of comments outright recommending Bryntrol, but people were actually giving positive ratings to those posts.

Shadow's Edge can no long be used for transmogrification. Why? Because, it is apart of a legendary quest line, there for it falls under the same rules as legendary weapons. I was very hopeful that I could finally use one of my most unique items I've ever owned again, but alas, this weapon will still be collecting dust in my bank vault.

For those that was planning to transmogrify this in The Hour of Twilight Patch 4.3.0, i have bad news. This is not Transmogrifyable just like Ashbringer/Corrupted Ashbringer and any Legendary weapon, lvl 60 pvp gear Including Knight-Captain and High Warlord. If you got those in Vanilla and have the feat of strength for the 60 PvP "Ranks" you can transmogrify them, Any weapon you get in quest chain that you have for a period of time until you complete the quest is not transmogrifyable. For example Shadow's Edge in the Shadowmourne quest chain.

NOTE : They have now changed it, Is now Transmogrify-able.

While you can't mog your weap to look like it. There's is still some hope for you, if you're a warrior that is.

By using Символ мастера боя, and having this weapon in your backpack.
You can have your weapon look like it. Nice way to bypass the "cannot be transmogrify" rule.

Tried this as soon as i got my axe last week and didn't know i could do it. :)

(update: As mentioned be others here. This no longer works. Well at least I and others had fun while it lasted.)

My DK still has it in the bank, so it's in his and my Warrior's Appearance collection. However, my Guild Master has Shadowmourne, and Shadow's Edge is not in his collection. Anyone know if there's a way to add it other than doing the quest again on another character?

If you accidentally vendor/sell/delete Shadow's Edge (like I did while farming the shards lol) talk with the quest giver, Highlord Darion Mograine, in the ICC instance, and he can forge you another one. This probably was true back in the day, but still works as of Shadowlands pre-patch, 9.0.1

In case you sold / deleted your Грань Тьмы and Highlord Darion Mograine does not give you a replacement try to use item restore.

Was the only thing that worked for me and since item restore worked I obviously did sell it.. No clue why he wouldn't offer a new one as he is supposed to.

Another way to get Shadow's Edge if you sold it and cannot restore it through item restoration is to use the Party sync feature. I partied with a character who had not done any of the quests and simply completed the first couple of quests again so I could ask Mograine to restore it.
