This drops off 25-man Lord Jaraxxus, and procs off any non-damaging spell, including buffs like Inner Fire and Power Word: Shield.

Gives 128mp5 when the buff is fully stacked, and will not drop off unless you don't cast for 10 seconds.

The buff is called Energized.

The Alliance version is Solace of the Defeated

*Penance causes 4 stacks even when it's used as a damage spell.

Just picked this on up for my resto-shaman. It procs 5 stacks upon setting out 4 totems at once (1 stack for the summon-spell and 1 for each individual totem), meaning it's easy to get the full benefit from the start and on.

However, it does not proc more than one stack on Chain-Heal, nor does it proc at all off Ancestral Awakening or Earthliving.

Will this get nerfed or something, because right now it seems to be incredibely overpowered. Compare to Sif's Remembrance, 19 levels lower, 110 SP and 65 average MP5 in the best case (probably around 50 in reality).
128 "passive" mp5 on a trinket that already gives a lot of spellpower seems too good to be true.

there is awierd pug with this trincket whem im casting lightining bolt shiled it proc but when icast water shield its dosnt proc. did any shaman try that.

i wonder if it'll see a nerf as well. it's honestly like going back to 3.0 as a disc priest. you can't really run out of mana with equivalent gear in the rest of your slots. i use it and sif's, when they proc together i'm at shaman mp5 levels as a disc priest, all from basically two pieces of gear, plus they're giving me over 200 spell power.

Essentially it just makes each spell cost 32 less mana. 36 less for the heroic version ... or 68 less if you equip both

I am a resto shaman and I had the normal version earlier and picked up the heroic one today, and the most juicy part is that they proc simultaneously (8 + 8 stacks). Now thats ALOT of mp5 right there... Wouldn't be surprised to see it nerfed in the future.

For resto shaman, this trinket will not proc off of earthliving weapon, but it DOES proc off of Ancestral Fortitude. I highly recommend you resto shamans out there to spec into Ancestral Fortitude if you have not yet.

For my purposes, this is the first direct upgrade to Soul Preserver as a Holy Priest. That's right, I said it, a blue. That blue from reg CoS has served me far better than 90% of the purples I have picked up just to have.

Solace has twice the spellpower and enough constant MP5 to surpass the potential MP5 provided by Soul Preserver's proc. What I lose is one of the many ways I can cheat the 5-second rule, but what I gain is a far greater mana regen potential. I'm gunning for this and its Heroic counterpart. Because I like my trinkets to provide insane MP5; really, I can get spellpower from far more places for far less effort. Which also makes the spellpower on this a nice bonus in addition to its key effect.

An interesting note for Holy Paladins, casting Beacon of Light causes this trinket to auto-refresh every second for the duration of the buff.

Edit: This has been fixed as of Patch 3.3.0.

For a resto shaman, you get one additional stack for every critical heals you make. I guess its because of Ancestral Awakening (or Ancestral Healing). Also, Tidal Force will make the trinket proc 4 times by itself when you cast it. And as some people above have already mentioned, the "Call of ..." spells will make the trinket proc 5 times at once if you have set the spell to set down 4 totems. Totemic Recall gives you 1 stack.
Water Walking and Water breaking gives 1 stack each.

The trinket will NOT proc if you get an Earthliving proc or if you cast Water/Lightning Shield.

personally, i dont think ANY healer should need 2 of these. i play a disc priest and have just the reg version of this thing and without the pally wis buff, no shammy mana spring, no flask of pure mojo, im hitting atleast 800mp5 with this thing topped out. i generate so much mana, i can chain cast greater heal forever instead of flash heal if i wanted to. i so rarely use my shadowfiend in a raid, its actually kinda sad to watch the other great healers in my guild go OOM and im still topped off at the end of the fight

Exactly what part of "Just because this trinket can be procced by a Shadow Priest running Vampiric Embrace does NOT mean it's a good dps trinket" do you NOT understand?

Show me documentation from a worthy source that says mp5 is good for a Shadow Priest to stack, and perhaps we'll take you seriously. (Hint: It's not out there.) 'Til then, if you can't come across a better trinket that benefits you more than the 150 sp equip bonus, by all means equip your Solace of the Fallen while we all "lol hard" at your failure to obtain ANYTHING better for your spec.

Yeah, this trinket is by far a healer-only one. Hit = DPS, Mp5 = healers, Spirit = FFA Minus Shaman / Pali, strictly.
Solace of the Fallen is a best in slot if I'm not mistaken, which in the least it certainly can't be said for DPS.

Blizzard patched it and Serendipty/Holy Concentration no longer add stacks. However, Circle of Healing and Holy Nova now add stacks equal to the number of targets they hit! So one CoH in a raid = 6 stacks!

As a Paladin, I noticed it procs from blessings, too. So just rebless everyone before the pull, and *poof*, instant mp5. :)

I picked this up yesterday, and I noticed that when I pop Bloodlust at the beginning of a fight I immediately get the 8 stacks. Can anyone confirm?

**edit* When you cast it, it's like one cast per person and pet, so it's easy to get the stacks in raids.

Still a GREAT healing trinket until you can get your hands on any 359 epic healing trinket or Tear of Blood from last boss in Stonecore. If you're a JC you'll be replacing this quicker though.

Still a very good trinket into Cataclysm, especially the heroic version. I only replaced it with Core of Ripeness.
