WotLK daily fishing quest reward.

In patch 3.1 Marcia Chase in Dalaran starts daily fishing quests that reward a Bag of Fishing Treasures. This bag has a chance to contain a Stormjewel. As of patch 3.1, the only epic WotLK gems are these Stormjewels, Kharmaa's Grace and the jewelcrafting-only gems. The Stormjewels are not Bind on Pickup, so they can be sold or traded. An epic Stormjewel provides a +4 statistic improvement over its rare counterpart (+6 for the stamina version).

Bold Stormjewel - +20 Strength
Delicate Stormjewel - +20 Agility
Runed Stormjewel - +23 Spell Power +20 Intellect

Yellow
Brilliant Stormjewel - +20 Intellect
Rigid Stormjewel - +20 Hit Rating

Blue
Solid Stormjewel - +30 Stamina
Sparkling Stormjewel - +20 Spirit

In Patch 3.2, regular epic gems have been introduced and the limitation of 1 Stormjewel per gear set has been removed.

I sold a Runed Stormjewel in the AH for 2k, but like others I don't expect the prices to hold for too long. Alakazam is showing them around 950.

I too got one of these the other day, sold it for 1900g. The date sold was 04/19/2009.

I didnt need to use it in my gear just yet, so I figured sell while the price is still really high. Too bad it's not going to last. :(

BTW, I love that it says "Unique Equipped: Stormjewel (1)" and then at the bottom it says "'Matches a Red Socket. Can only socket one Stormjewel"', for those who dont know what Unique means. :(

The tooltip isn't the clearest... One Stormjewel per piece of gear, or one stormjewel equipped, period?

Don't expect these inflated prices to last for much longer: with a maximum of 1 per gear set and a marginal stat increase over the rare counterpart, the market will soon be saturated.

Prices remain inflated. These can be bought between 400-700g and resold 700-1000g as of mid June.

With 3.2 we'll be able to prospect epic gems from Titanium Ore. Since there is no word that the Stormjewels are having thier stats increased (Dragon Eyes will have thier stats buffed) expect these gems to maintain a +2 stat advantage over the soon-to-be availible epic gems.

Although the tooltip says you may only socket one stormjewel it is incorrect, you can now use more than one since it has the same stats at the new epic gems, I spoke to a GM last night who confirmed it, though I didn't screenshot it :<

A pleasant surprise in my bag of fishing treasures. As a Boomkin it will definitely come in use for me next gear upgrade.
