To clarify, Unique Equipped (3) means that you can only wear gear with 3 of these gems at a single time.
You can make as many as you like but only have 3 at a time on your person.
Compared to
Runed Cardinal Ruby
this will provide 9 more spell power per gem which is worth an extra 27 if you use all 3 for this in your dps gear.

These are great for Caster DPS classes using the Chaotic Skyflare Diamond. Stick them in your blue sockets to get the socket bonus and meet the meta requirements without sacrificing any spellpower to purple gems.

Sorry to belabor the point, but is that to say you still have to have blue sockets in your gear in order to use the prismatic gems to activate a meta, say the skyflare diamond, or could you have gear with all red and yellow sockets, then use the prismatic ones to activate it?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to level JC to be able to make the Runed Dragon's Eye and then drop JC? I am considering this just for the extra spell power. The big thing I am curious about is if you can make extras and have them in your bank and equip them in different gear after you have dropped the proffesion.

This item is getting nerfed (or has been already, I'm not entirely sure) to make it fit into any socket, but not give the socket bonus. So basically, if an item has a red socket slot that gives +10 Hit Rating, and you slap in a Dragon's Eye, it won't give the socket bonus of the +10 Hit Rating. I suppose it's only fair as non JCs can't use it. But I guess it would still be a large upgrade from a
if you dont need the socket bonus the item provides. Still, a nerf is a nerf. Just keep in mind that you won't get the socket bonuses anymore with Dragon Eyes when you come to socket your gear.

No longer are counted as a "prismatic" gem. Counts ONLY as a red gem now.

BS gets 2 extra sockets ... with 2 runed cardinal rubies, thats another 46 spellpower for them.
Leatherworkers get to use 76 spellpower to wrists instead of 30 spellpower to wrists, thats another 46 spellpower for them.
So yeah, Jewelcrafters get 2 more spellpower than 3 of the other crafting professions. That 2 extra spellpower is clearly very very unbalanced and makes it so that everyone who is a blacksmith, leatherworker, or enchanter should drop their profession and level jewelcrafting to get that 2 extra spellpower. I'm totally dropping my profession so that I can get a less than 1/1000th boost to my spellpower. (note: I'm being sarcastic)
