Вообще с выходом аддона думал себе такое приобрести. Вот только потом прикинул, что есть много кастерских колечек по-лучше: Перстень проявленной боли, Пропавшая драгоценность, Титановое кольцо чародейского удара, Кольцо растекающейся магии. А с открытием нового рейдового подземелья Ульдуар, в патче 3.1, оно сместится ещё на N позиций вниз.
Итог - 10 очков достижений, телепорт в Даларан с часовым кулдауном и кольцо с не самыми лучшими для рейдинга характеристиками. = бесполезная трата денег. Имхо, конечно.)

UPD: Ан нет, таки предусмотрели разработчики выход из описанного выше положения :) По предварительной информации купленные кольца после патча 3.1 будут улучшаться за 1000г до таких. Ближе к патчу ещё отредактирую :)

Что делает макрос?
Первым нажатием вы надеваете кольцо
Вторым используете его
Третьим одеваете старое кольцо
Если кольцо на кд оно не будет надето

PS При желании макрос можно переделать и под другие предметы, например для Затерянный во времени артефакт или Сапоги Пиратской бухты для этого нужно поменять ID предмета и используемый слот

Есть модификации PortGear и TeleportCloak, которые автоматически после использования телепортирующего кольца, амулета, плаща или ещё чего-либо, надевают предыдущую вещь. Иначе, вы посреди важного боя внезапно обнаружите, что забыли переодеться и вместо актуальной вещи на вас надето вот это.

PortGear чаще обновляется (поскольку Blizzard добавляет в игру всё новые и новые предметы) и умеет учитывать надетые наборы вещей (например, если надет рыболовный сет, то она не будет снимать сапоги Пиратской бухты, дающие бонус к навыку рыбной ловли).

well, obviously you can fly in northrend, so it won't be impossible to get to dalaran after all :P

secondly, 8k for that ring is ok... it doesn't require any rep or anything like that to gain, and trust me, there will be better rings...

though imho - I don't like the "spell power" definition... healers&casters will roll on the same items.... :\

Yes, critical strike rating, haste rating and hit rating will all affect spells and melee abilities in wrath, while spell damage and healing are going to be combined to one stat, healers won't see any difference in their healing, just a smaller number on their character sheet.

This ring is a beauty and with all the potential for gold making in wrath, it shouldn't be to hard to obtain either.

Talento you are right. This doesn't take into account of course +hit due to talents, but the new items are made in such a way that healers don't have to switch all of their gear to dps or solo. Some items items are just plus healing (i think), but since crit/hit/haste are the same for melee/caster now and spell damage is spell power (same for healing/dps), it makes it easier for a character to respec and be useful now. Should make the game a lot more enjoyable for certain classes like shamans, druids, and priests (anything that can switch roles basically).

Some items items are just plus healing (i think)

Nope there are no longer any +healing items in game they have all been converted. The coefficient is around 1.8 to 2.0. So an item with +100 healing now has around +53 spellpower in WotLK.

This does also mean a boost to +healing items +dmg, as of course an existing 100 +healing item currently gives just +33 dmg now, will be boosted to +53 in WotLK. ie: nice big boost to +spell dmg from your existing healing items.

The aim is for classes that heal and dps that currently carry around a dps set and a healing set will be able to only require one set that will do both dps and healing. Downside is that you now share looting with other classes that previously didn't roll on +healing items.

EVERY new "requires lvl 80" epic so far discovered in the beta is a MINIMUM of iLvl 200. This is in keeping with where the Greens and blues are.

Lvl 68 TBC green = iLvl 114, lvl 68 WotLK green = iLvl 134
Lvl 69 TBC green = iLvl 117, lvl 69 WotLK green = iLvl 138
Lvl 70 TBC green = iLvl 120, lvl 70 WotLK green = iLvl 142

ie: the step between levels was 3 in BC (120-117=3) and is now 4 in WotLK (142-138=4), in vanilla wow the step was 1 level. This is why there is such a big jump in iLvls in BC the step up was changed from 1 to 3. The "jump" to WotLK is far far less from 3 to 4 ie: not a huge step up at all but enough to make you want replace all of your Sunwell kit with starter greens/blues by lvl 80.

lvl 71 WotLK green = iLvl 144
lvl 72 WotLK green = iLvl 148
....
lvl 79 WotLK green = iLvl 178
lvl 80 WotLK green = iLvl 182

The notable thing is that in vanilla wow the iLvl of a starter green at 60 was 65 as you said, but you then compared it to a iLvl 92 Epic completely ignoring the stats difference between a green and an Epic of the same iLvl. ie: a green at iLvl 80 has a lot worse stats than an Epic of iLvl 80.

The key factor in jump from vanilla to BC was the change from 1 step per level to 3 AND the fact that a lvl 60 BC green has an iLvl of 90.

ie: we get green itemLevel from player level with the following formulas

vanilla = level +5, BC = 3 * (level - 60) + 90 and WotLK = 4 * (level -70) + 142

At lvl 60 this gives : vanilla 65, BC 90, WotLK 102
At lvl 70 this gives : vanilla 75, BC 120, WotLK 142
At lvl 80 this gives : vanilla 85, BC 150, WotLK 182.

Step up at lvl 70 from vanilla to BC was (90/60) = 1.5 or 50% better gear.
Step up at lvl 70 from vanilla to BC was (120/75) = 1.6 or 60% better gear.
Step up at lvl 70 from BC to WotLK is (142/120) = 1.183 or 18.3% better gear.
Step up at lvl 80 from BC to WotLK is (182/150) = 1.213 or 21.3% better gear.

So you can see the jump from BC to WotLK is no where near as steep as the jump from vanilla to BC.

Kirin Tor reputation lowers the cost of this ring right now. Hopefully this stays in effect. When I made it to level 80, I was friendly with the Kirin Tor and bought one for 8075g.

The stats on it are a large upgrade over things that drop in level 80 instances (Occulus, Utgarde Pinnacle). There are no raids released yet, so I can not vouch for how useful it will be into the future.

Perhaps not so necessary at first. Though later on, you'd need to gather at a single place for marks or crafts before raids. And you'll probably want to get a bit of grinding done for Foods, Pots, Oils, etc. then too. Having this teleport will definately make things easier in that respect. The deeper you get into the raid content, the more you'll want this. By then I suppose you'll have gained more rep with Kirin Tor, so it'll be easier to decide to purchase this.

People with low-lvl friends or multiple accounts will also benefit from this item. They can easily switch back and forth between the high and low lvl areas.

Warlocks that have to grind Shards before Arena/BG will have an easier time when they don't have only their Hearthstone to teleport them once an hour to a place where they can grind them.

It's not only one extra slot in your bags, but you can have your HS binded anywhere and this ring will always get you to Dalaran. This ring doesn't share the same CD with HS either, like said before, so this is incredibly good to be honest for any other class but mage.

Here is a comparison for some similar rings, for those that are wondering whether or not this is a good investment.

Many will say "yes, it is a good investment" because:
- Free port to a major city (where there are other ports too). Saves you a hearth.
- If your guild does DKP, you can save that too if a similar ring drops.
- Can last throughout the current content.

But on the downside:
- It's pricey
- It will be replaced eventually, it's just a matter of time.

And remember, the price does go down as your reputation with Kirin Tor increases. Currently at revered, it's about 7200g for me.

They are both pre-raid rings.

According to MaxDPS.com, this is #2 caster ring (vs. lvl 80), 2nd only to from 25man Kel'Thuzad.

Raiding you need +Hit but if you are near the hit cap (368 for most mages), then spell power is more important. Haste generally pays off more than crit but I tell my mages that you should have at least 300 CR.

Just to clarify some of the above comments about this ring and Mages (who of course don't need the bonus Dalaran hearth) -

This ring is not a very good deal compared to Titanium Spellshock Ring. Raiding frostfire means a point of haste or crit contributes about 80% of the dps that a point of spell power does, with crit generally being a slightly better stat than haste. This depends on how much of each stat you already have, but for napkin math, 1 haste/crit can be safely compared to 0.8 SP.

Socketed with 19 SP, the Titanium Spellshock Ring gives 73 damage and 49 crit, a difference of

+14 damage
+13 crit
- 28 haste

In conclusion, this ring is actually worse for the typical frostfire raiding mage than the cheaper, crafted alternative.

Unless you really have gold to burn, why not combo Band of Guile or Annhylde's Ring with the Spellshock until you can get a Naxx upgrade?

For a mage FFB build the Signet still higher dps than either of those (>10%). The only better Naxx upgrade is from heroic Kel'Thuzad. Therefore, since you have 2 fingers, Signet and Spellshock is the best combination for most mages. Not to mention that you can purchase and wear them the day you hit 80.

Signet of the Malevolent from Gothik is better, unless you've gotten really lucky with hit gear and no longer need it.

1% crit provides more dps than 1% haste, but you also need more crit rating to get that 1% than you do haste. These two factors balance out pretty effectively; haste rating and crit rating contribute very similar amount of total dps for most mages.

This seems like a great item to buy when the next expansion releases for getting to Northrend on the rare occasion.

But as it stands this ring or it's siblings are not that impressive so long as you run any heroics or 10 man Naxxramas attempts. Rings from those locations and higher are fairly readily available. Heck, according to wowhead there are 25 epic ilevel 200 rings in the game at present. If you can't find equivalent items that have much lower opportunity cost than your luck really sucks.

I'm not sure about that
as a full spec frost mage i have lots of talents that give me tons of extra crit rating(on frozen targets and that makes me act like any of my targets are frozen)
the more haste i get, the more spells i do in a shorter amount of time the more chance i get that extra crit

first thing i did was to cap my hit rating now im working on getting more and more haste
i also noticed that most battles in raids and instances expect you to move a lot, so getting my frost bolt from 2.5second cast to a 2 second cast is a HUGE deal for me.
maybe it will be a bit less dps on a dummy or a stand and spam damage battle, but on more complex battle i found it very useful

This has no 30 second "on equip" cooldown like virtually every other piece of equipment with a Use effect. You can just equip it and cast the teleport after the equip GCD.

In both 18.53.0 Fireball builds and 0.53.18 Frostfire builds, this is the second best ring in the game, just behind Signet of Manifested Pain (off of Kel'Thuzad 25). I've read countless comments above rattling off how they believe Spellshock ring is better because "Frostfire favors crit more than haste."

Yes, comparitively, 1 spell power and 1 crit are better than 1 haste for Frostfire, but in both Fireball and Frostfire builds, there is a DPS increase for stacking haste. Until you reach that point, haste is better than crit.

You can download Rawr and run the numbers yourself and you will find every single time that this ring is better than Spellshock ring. If you don't want to bother downloading Rawr, read the link below:

Some numbers though:

From this 0.53.18 set, Signet of the Kirin Tor is contributing 184.02 DPS. Titanium Spellshock Ring with a 19 damage gem in it gives 177.98 DPS. For an 18.53.0 set, Kirin Tor gives 186.49 DPS. Spellshock gives 176.52 DPS.

Those numbers are from 'best of the best' sets. This ring is highly optimized and I have no doubt Blizzard intended it to best second best in game. Think about it, the only ring better than it is from Kel'Thuzad and that ring is ilevel 226.

What you say is true, but this ring is 6 or 7 times more expensive than Spellshock ring for a gain of 6 or 8 DPS. And that's in the optimal gear sets; most mages would see an increase of 4 or 5 dps from that upgrade. Not a great return on investment. It's worth noting should you respec arcane, it drops to 5th or 6th best and is comparable to the heroic haste rings in DPS value.

Let me put it another way - this ring is 2nd best for FFB and FB spec, but is definitely in the same class as the spellshock ring and Band of Channeled magic.

Followup on bebbe's numbers: Casting this ring's Use effect 85,000 times would take ~~9 years 8 months and 11 days~~ 4 years 10 month and 5 days*.
This means that if a Mage bought the ring on 1st of January 2010 at 00:00, they cannot "pay it off" until ~~12 September 2019 at 16:00~~ 6th of November 2014 at 20:00*.

*Assuming it's used each and every half hour without regard for player circumstances or server downtime.

To account for the cooldown change from 60 to 30 minutes.

@Cyra, all items (excluding this one, and perhaps some other item) bought from vendors can be resold to vendors for 25% of the price of the item (presumably at neutral. I sold Vindicator's Brand to a vendor for approximately 50g.

Like I said though, this rule apprently does not apply to this ring, for whatever reason.

It might take a while to get the cash for it (not to mention all the potentially better uses for over 6k gold), but it's worth getting if you can afford it.
It's a solid DPS ring (maybe for healers too, but the other caster ring from the same vendor might be a better choice for them) that'll last you a good time. Even after being replaced, it'll still have a place in your inventory for quick Dalaran access (assuming you're not a Mage); with a free port to Dalaran every hour, you're free to set your Hearthstone to a better location (questing zone, favored farming region, a place close to a Dungeon you frequently go to, etc.), and it makes for a good back-to-Northrend fix if you're caught in Outlands or (Old) Azeroth with your hearthstone on CD.

You may replace it as the stats will not change unless you pay for the upgardes which will bring it up to item level 251. Even then if you get a 264 ring to replace it you can still equip it for the port, just keep it in your bags like your hearth stone.

I actually just bought one of these today. Before I figured that it would be only mildly useful since I had a 310% speed mount, but after Cataclysm hit with no really fast way to get from Orgrimmar to Northrend without a mage, I relented and bought a ring. Not to mention it's easier to pay 6800g for it when gold has no value like it does now.

Now I only have 25k gold left. Hooray for useful items from last expansion!

Another good thing with this ring still in Cataclysm, is that since they put a portal back to Stormwind/Orgrimmar in Dalaran, you can set your HS anywhere and still have those handy level 85 portals close...sure, 30 minutes instead of 15, but we got by just fine with 30 minute HC cd before guild perks :p.

For alliance, the best hearthstone location by far is the Dwarven District. It is close to the AH/Bank, plus it is right behind the new Cataclysm portals and also very close to the badges vendors and the reforging area, as well as jewelcrafting and cooking dailies. Basically Stormwind is the place to be.

Unfortunately Stormwind lag, for those on busy servers, make it almost impossible to do anything productive, from using the AH, receiving mail, even trying using your mount, with huge delays at peak times.

The solution is to bind your hearthstone in Dalaran, which has an AH, a portal to DS, and a portal to SW for when you need to visit SW.

A slight problem might be that the Dalaran portal to SW takes you to the mage tower which is a pain to get out of.

An improved solution might be to buy this ring (ring of the kirin tor) and set your hearth stone to the Dwarven District. Make Dalaran your real home, use the ring of the kirin tor to get back there whenever you need, and use the HS whenever you have business in SW.

But this will set you back 7225-8075 gold (depends on kirin tor rep).

There is however a most amazing and BRILLIANT solution.

1. Set your HS to Dalaran. Make Dalaran your home.
2. ! Buy Potions of Deepholme ! No cooldown, INSTANT teleport to Deepholme. From there fly to the SW portal which is 50 yards away. This gets you smack bang into the SW portals island, not the stupid mage tower.

Potions cost 4.5 gold each, a small price to pay for cooldown free, almost instant travel to SW.
