Син'До, если бы вы знали, "кормятся" именно фэлом, вбирая его из Фэл-Кристаллов, завезенных в Сильвермун. И еще, для справки, фэл - форма арканы. Это Квель'Дорай не фэлом питаются, а стараются пользоваться куда более безопасными формами арканы, как например - Лунные колодцы Кал'Дорай и т.п.
Презренные - это те, кто жрет магию горстями, и не важно какой она формы. А пережравшие фэла - это рогатые Син'До в Терассе Магистров, например.

С сиреневыми камнями лича, скажем по +20 к силе/+20 к агиле (а меч не привязан к классу своими статами, сталобыть его спокойно может взять и хантер и агила будет более чем уместна), да с личевским чантом на +110 к AP... Убероружие для 70х!

В общем, получив этот меч на 70 - можно просто не думать, что одевать до самых шмоток Катаклизма. Просто не думать, потому что незачем.

По этому мечу и вообще всему эндгейм-шмотку БК хорошо заметно, насколько Ката оторвалась от предыдущих традиций игры. Всё-таки при переходе Ванилла-БК и БК-Лич игроки, одетые в рейдовый топ-шмот могли спокойно не переодеваться первые уровней 5 точно. С вот этим мечом, я так думаю, вполне можно было пойти и в личе-геры и даже в первые рейды. Чего никак не скажешь о Кате. Ах, ну да, там же эти 5 уровней - это уже потолок.

Выбил своему вару на 70,поставил сокеты 20 к силе,берсерк,и....одел его на арену - и если кто то путается,что одеть - копию меча или этот на арену,то я думаю вы сами угадаете что выбрать - сделали 10 винов подряд )

No, 3.4 is not too fast.

In terms of end game pve 2h Swords/Axes/Maces are basically going to be itemized with 3 class/specs in mind: Ret Paladins, MS warriors (Blood Frenzy bots), and Hunters.

Given the lack of agility and the much better and much more readily accessible Shivering Felspine, it's clear this isn't a hunter weapon.

With the haste on the weapon itself, this is essentially a 3.34 speed weapon with the highest top end in the game. From the standpoint of a Blood Frenzy warrior, 3/5 flurry brings the speed down to 2.83, which is good for the standard dps rotation of 4x slam, 2x ms, 1x ww.

Normal rotation would look like this (assuming the average .1 second lag time on slam & 100% flurry up time)

0.0 - White attack
0.6 - Slam (Swing reset)
1.6 - Mortal Strike
3.43 - White Attack
4.03 - Slam (Swing reset)
5.03 - Whirlwind
6.86 - White Attack
7.46 - Slam (Swing reset)
7.6 - Mortal Strike off cooldown
8.46 - Mortal Strike
10.29 - White Attack
10.89 - Slam (Swing reset)
11.89 - Open GCD
13.12 - White Attack
13.60 - Mortal Strike off cooldown
13.72 - Slam (Swing Reset)
14.72 -Mortal Strike...

Given this rotation and lag time it still leaves .33 seconds of open GCD after each special attack which is nice for extra lag/reaction time. Some of this could also be readily filled with the haste rating on the very nice Onslaught Boots and Belt, as well as some of the other Sunwell armor pieces (it would take ~250 haste rating on gear in order to fully compensate, a number that is impractical to reach for given other gearing requirements).

All in all, even considering the quicker speed to the weapon, it's still well within acceptable limits for a Blood Frenzy warrior. It's unfortunate that these circumstances brings the weapon under 3 seconds thus interfering with the cooldown on Windfury, but that is also assuming 100% flurry uptime which may not neccessarily be the case.

On the flip side, quicker auto attacks means more chances to proc sword spec. It's also worth mentioning that as gear upgrades are attained, and more haste rating becomes available, some arms warriors may switch over to a slamless dps rotation utilizing a DST.

A ret paladin going from Shivering Felspine to Apolyon, the Soul-Render will gain;

35+dps ~regardless of faction. Both SoB and SoC will gain that much from swapping these weapons out according to spreadsheets. Making this hands down an amazing retribution paladin weapon.

Oddly enough the speed on this weapon screws around with warriors, esspeically ones using a cats edge. The upgrade from cats edge to Apolyon is very, very small for them. These posts are suggesting for a slower speed, as some warriors can even see the S4 weapon out dpsing this baby for their spec and rotation.

Smart guilds with the way the sword is at the moment will hand this to their retribution paladin, then their warriors. It is just not enough of an upgrade for a warrior to give it over the ret paladin.

Forgive me, but if the top end damage of the weapon is the same as the other swords (in fact it's higher, as far as I know its the highest top end damage weapon in the game) then the damage it deals on an attack like mortal strike will be the same, therefore the speed doesn't matter. It's a better weapon than say the Brutal Gladiator's sword because it would do similar damage in strikes, but you'd strike with white damage more often.

It would be better if it was slower, yes, but it is still a superior weapon damage-wise because you wouldn't lose any damage because of its speed. Think of it as a 3.6 speed weapon with a little more haste.

If you socket this with 3 +10 Strength gems thats 30 strength equalling 60 attack power.
I'm not sure if strength adds to other stats too, but it would definatley be nice to see some more on this sword rather than a ghastly 100+ AP.

Sword currently appears not to take a glow from enchants (i.e. no lightning effect from Mongoose). Whether this is intented or a bug, I don't know.

This is an excellent choice for fury warrior looking ahead to utilize it with the WotLK talent 'Titan's Grip'. The 3.4 speed and 2.03% haste will serve the talent well!

this exactly what I want to say: titan's grip. I am lvl 45 atm so not even my wet dreams can conceive a blade like this one, but Sul'thraze I can see around the corner... and it got me thinking. so I wanted to see what is the best 2handed sword in the game till now. this sword feels like it's made for titan's grip fury warrs! it will sure make whirlwind alot more fun! :))

Also, with many balance fixes, or with the present mechanics... this one might/should be changed to Unique due to the fact that many top end dps 1Hers are Unique...

Just thought I'd point out that the windfury totem effect doesn't have the 3 second internal cooldown; that is only for shaman's windfury weapon buff. There is no cooldown on the windfury totem effect.

This is a hunter weapon and a ret paladin weapon because they will both use it in there main raiding set warriors however you will never see one using a two hander before they get titans grip.

This may be nice to dual wield come WOTLK. If the speed is a bit too fast, make it an offhand, and throw a Cataclysm's Edge MH. Or use two since they're not unique, and the damage output would still be great, assuming you have a lot of +hit (which everyone should anyway).
At the very least, Apolyon will be a great stat placeholder for TG warriors, and it's far from being a bad weapon.

Saw an arms warrior with TG duel wielding these in AB. At first glance, I thought it was yet another warrior with warglaives. I was wrong. 2 swipes is all it took. My poor mage didn't have a chance :(

TG is fury.... But yet, dual wielding these with savagery on both and 3 +10 str sockets in each, all in all will give you: 252 ap + 2x 70 ap + 6x 10 str= 516 AP... 148.7 dps in both hands, 64 haste and 84 crit rating. I just say OMG

I think that this sword is rather comparable ( only because of the sockets, that is ) to lvl 80 blues and I am definitely getting this on my Paladin. I guess just because dual-spec is coming soon, and I really love raiding Sunwell Plateau. I mean, this and Thori'dal are pretty much the only reasons to raid the place, aside from some trinkets.

And if nothing, it has a value akin to the good old T6 sets. They're simply gorgeous.

I think this would be a great thing to use for DK 2-h tankin at 80. My DK is currently dw spec'd for easier d cap, but my offspec is gonna be a 2h spec with a lot of stam and he's a JC

so the sword has 75 stam normally,
three JC sockets, so that 123 stam there,
and the socket bonus of 9 stam

that makes 207 stam!

but... you may have a little bit of a threat problem due to its low at power and end dmg cause its a 70 epic, and equivilent to an 80 green in dmg.

Call me crazy, but i think this might be able to create a very powerful weapon.

If you're a hunter, lets say and you almost never melee, but hit a lot of range, using this with 3x http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40114 or if you're a Jewlcrafter http://www.wowhead.com/?item=36766 could create a 246 Attack Power weapon or 330 with Jewlcrafter's gems. although the Jewlcrafters gems could easily fill another slot in armor or otherwise.

This weapon is easily the best 2her at level 70. It has the highest DPS and highest top end damage of any weapon until level 78 item level 187 rares from non heroic 5 mans.

This sword (well, the model anyway) is wielded by Кольтира Ткач Смерти in a few of his phases. He uses a different weapon in the death knight starting area, but as far as I remember he uses this everywhere else.

Considering that this item has no lore attached to it I'm going to make something up.

Apolyon, the Soul-Render is fashioned from Adamantite and Fel-Steel, and tempered with the blood of Kil'jaeden himself. The ultimate fel weapon, Apolyon's fabrication was to act as a weapon to rend the soul of the mortal and assimilate them into the Scourge.

Apolyon is discovered on Kil'jaeden's body upon his defeat with unexpected characteristics of its original creators. The journey through the Sunwell has purified the blade, its Fel power fully intact yet non-addictive or harmful to it's mortal wielder.
