This pole's kind of lame. It's basically a big iron fishing pole with useless stamina, as you can't fight with poles. Might prove useful if you get attacked while pvp flagged so that you can run away and get out your real weapon but otherwise it's just a half-decent pole for alliance, still not as good as the horde +25 one though.

I like to go to Stranglethorn Vale and beat lowbies to death with my fishing pole while wearing a "Festive Pink Dress" and my Rocket Helmet from my Netherstorm quest....thats fun.

I suppose alliance also wanted a green fishing pole, seeing as horde already has the "Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000" which is actually better for fishing.
(you can get it from a quest containing snapjaws in the hinterlands.)

My question is... since a fishing pole is a weapon... why can't you enchant it with fiery or icy? I want my flaming fishing pole!

Interestingly, this is classed as a pre-TBC item.
It disenchants into pre-TBC mats.

This is probably because its item level is only 60. It would be interesting to calculate if the stamina is calculated in the item budget using the pre-TBC or TBC value.

I am surprised that no one mentioned anything about "Big Iron Fishing Pole" http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6367 that comes with +20 fishing too, and it is very easy to get at lvl 50+ . It requires only lvl 25 to use it but mobs in the area are 40+ so its best to go there at 50+ and you can farm it without getting aggro. All you need to do is grab a few underwater breathing potions and start farming.

Yeah, I think the stamina is there just in case you get ganked on a PvP server and such. IMO this works our best for Druids, since all they really require on their weapons is stats.

If you are a member of the Horde, then there is a fishing pole from pre-BC Azeroth that is better for fishermen than this one. Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 is a fishing rod you get from completing the quest "Snapjaws, Mon!"

Although Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler fishing pole has fewer attack points and no stamina stats like Seth's Graphite, it increases fishing skill points by +25 instead of +20, and is usable at fishing skill 100 instead of 200.

This quest, though, is available to Horde only. So if you're a member of the Alliance, sorry, but you're out of luck.

The only other fishing pole that has more fishing skill points than this one is the Arcanite Fishing Pole which you get from the "Master Angler" quest in Stranglethorn Vale on Sundays between 2-4pm server time and is available to both factions. This particular fishing pole has +35 fishing skill points.

Could this actually be used for a twink warr?I saw the dps of swords and even the lvl 40 epic ones have lower dps than this pole.Also +52stam its rly a lot for a twink (season 2 staff gots same stamina....)Tho he couldnt use some of his skills and they cant get it coz of the q lvl requirement that is 62.

In 3.0.3 I noticed my melee crit going through the roof when I went fishing. With a ret pala spec, in ret gear I swapped out my Hammer of Naruu for this fishing pole and my melee crit went from 28.41% to 34.21%. That is a hell of a lot of crit, and it seems like my fishing skill (including a +100 fishing lure) is accounted as my weapon skill for fishing poles.

375 fishing + 20 bonus + 100 lure = 495

(495 - 350 mace skill) * 0.04% crit per skillpoint = 5.8 %

How wierd isn't that...

Looks like they're taking the 52 stamina and 46.5 DPS off this in patch 3.1.

Post Patch 3.1.0, this is exactly the same as Nat Pagle's extreme angler...dps is 1.5 rather than 46.5 and Stam is gone as well. Except that Nat Pagle's +25 fishing skill was reduced to +20 too.

Darn...I worked hard for that pole :(

For those of you that have deleted this item back in TBC thinking "You will never level fishing" and decide you want it back, I was able to speak to a GM and have it posted to me. I assume this is the same situtation for anyone that has completed the quest and Deleted/Sold the Fishing Pole.

How come Nat's Lucky fishing pole has 25 fishing skill increase and requires 225 fishing skill while this one only gives 20 skill increase and requires only 220?

I am surprised that nobody has said this but graphite is actually a sort of coal used for pencils, and since you get this from a kid it is not surprising if you are fishing with a pencil.

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Удочка can buy from any trader and is a reward from Деликатесный красный луциан (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Крепкая удочка can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Удочка Стаатса reward from Любовь к окуням in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Удочка из темной древесины fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Большая железная удочка low drop from Ловушка на моллюска.

■ Продвинутая рыбалка Ната Пэгла FC-5000 reward from Хрустогрызы, сэр! (Alliance side) and Хрустогрызы, чувак! (Horde side).

■ Графитовая удочка Сета reward from Без рыбалки (Shattrath City).

■ Пандаренская удочка you can get it if you are honored with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Счастливая удочка Ната reward from Нат Пэгл, великий рыболов, Нат Пэгл, великий рыболов for who completed this quest before the quest trainer for Artisan Fishing was removed in 3.1.0

■ Арканитовая удочка reward from world event of Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza for to first player who catch Крапчатая вкуснорыбаx40 and give Риггл Мормыш, completing Главный приз, its is the best pole in game with high fishing skill.

■ Удочка со стразами low drop from Сумка с блестяшками (Fishing Quest Daily in Stormwind and Orgrimmar), even a lvl 10 can obtain this item, and Мешок рыбацких сокровищ (Fishing Quest Daily in Dalaran) you must be lvl 70 and got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also if you catch the Черная акула but you are not the first person who completed it, you gain the bag in Пусть тебе улыбнется удача – в другой раз!.

■ Костяная удочка low drop from Сумка с блестяшками, same work with Удочка со стразами.

■ Счастливая удочка драконов you can get it if you are revered with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Мастерски сделанная калуакская удочка can buy from Сайрук (Dragonblight) or Танайка (Howling Fjord), you must be Exalted with Калу'ак, its the best pole with cool model and unique breathing underwater in game, you must have the expansion Wrath of the Lich King if you want this item.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.

This fishing pole has become quite valuable in the Battlegrounds with this latest patch. All gear including this pole are upgraded to level 590 if you are in a level 90-99 BG. That upgrade boosts the stamina up to 483 for this fishing pole. 483 stamina is more stamina than any other weapon I could find. A stamina only polearm upgrades to only 328 stamina. I have gathered other stamina gear and run the Warsong or Twin Peaks flag with 438K health with the stamina food, flask and buff going as a druid bear. Other players have only around 170K health. I keep getting accused of hacking, and my response is,”Ya hateus cos ya aintus.” I wonder what the horde think?

As a bear (different from a Death Knight) I don’t need a weapon to use any of my attacks. They do very little damage since I have no agility, but it does generate rage that allows me to heal and reduce damage. Also, Ursa Major and Yserra’s Gift both heal me for a percentage of my maximum health. With more than 250% of normal health with all that stamina I get quite a lot of healing from them.
But as a bear nobody can see my fishing pole and that makes me sad. So, I have a rogue that runs the flag with stamina gear and this pole and he has 330K health. I transmog him with Warbear Woolies and Warbear Harness and other items to make me look like I am running it naked with a fishing pole. I do pay a price with a rogue because I can’t gouge (a disorienting attack) or apply crippling poisons. I just have to depend on my speed and high health to get across the battlefield. Now what’s interesting is that even though all gear upgrades to an item level of 590, not all stamina gear gets an equal upgrade and I can’t figure out how it is determined. For instance, this ring (heavy adamantite ring) gives me 246 stamina in the BGs, but Smoky Quartz Ring of Stamina only gives me 184 stamina. Some rings only give 123 stamina and these are stamina rings with stamina only and they all are upgraded to item level 590. So I continually search the AH for stamina gear. I buy it and see if it generates more stamina than my currently equipped gear when I go into the BG. My missing pieces are my bracers and cloak, but I will keep searching and buying hoping to hit 450 K health.
Go get this pole and have fun in the BGs with it.

I have Seth's graphite fishing pole. I have a fishing lvl of 616. I am a lvl 100 toon. I have plenty of space on my skill board. Why can't I fish with it?

For the past 2 days, (since the 15th) this item gave 310 stam when equipped in the fishing tool slot (516 stam in korrak's) My level 20 had over 6k hp because of this item, they have since hotfixed it (literally while I was playing) to no longer give any stam at all, making the item just a normal +fishing skill fishing pole.

Requires 1 Outland Fishing only.

Can be obtained in less than 5 minutes.
