Игрокам Альянса приходится довольствоваться удочками похуже: Большая железная удочка (в Азероте), Графитовая удочка Сета (в Запределье).

Even if your fishing skill is at 1, and you think you'll never fish, do not vendor this. When you hit 70 and realize you want to take up fishing, you'll have it and have that much more of an edge when it comes to skilling it up from 1. I wouldn't call the Big Iron Fishing Pole "The Alliance Equivalent", since Horde can get it too.
In point of fact, there is no Alliance equivalent to the Nat Pagle fishing pole.

So apparently rogues can use this. I was just looking at Ippon's character page and he had it equipped. Does that mean he could go around SSing with a 2h on a rogue :O

If you get hold of this DO NOT SELL IT! Even if you hate fishing when you get it, sticking with it is a good idea, since you might wanna fish later on.

I know I did: I DE'd this beauty, and am now stuck with a measly +20 fishing pole. I repeat, do not sell it, eventually you will regret it!

The great thing about Death Knights is that NONE of the quests before level 55 have been completed. So you can just fly to the Hinterlands and complete the quest :D

Pat Nagle was a game dev. It seems he was one of the guys who made quests.

I figured Pat seemed like a more normal name so i googled it and turned this up. It's already mentioned on other sites.

Looking at this item in the PTR site, I noticed the fishing skill bonus was reduced from +25 to +20 (current - Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000. PTR version - Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000). Considering the new quest reward Nat's Lucky Fishing Pole from Nat Pagle, Angel Extreme increases fishing skill by 25, its no big deal, but in my case and possibly others where a Spun Truesilver Fishing Line or (in my case) a High Test Eternium Fishing Line was attached to this rod, its a bit disappointing as its a -5 skill reduction, unless you are fortunate enough to have another truesilver/eternium line sitting in your bank.

My question is, would it be safe to assume its my bad luck and loss, or is it possible to consider a chance of being "reimbursed" with a new truesilver or eternium line to attach to the new rod, similar to how it was possible to have this fishing rod sent to you by a generous GM, after having vendored it due to lack of interest in fishing at the time, or simply not realizing its quality/value.

1) NOT Disenchantable (and I recall disenchanting one on my lock ages ago, so Im fairly sure this is a recent change)
2) Sells to vendors for 7 copper .... yes, seven ... down from 2g85s80c.

This is one of those changes, there are a few in every patch, where you are left scratching your head about the process Blizzard went through to determine that a rebalance was needed.

"OK, so we need to tune the Ulduar bosses, design the Argent tourney from scratch, let's figure out the best mechanics for dual spec . . . oh yeah, and we DEFINITELY need to chop 5 skillpoints off the Nat Pagle pole, take away damage from all fishing poles, and make them worthless for vendoring or d/e. That last part is crucial if people are going to keep playing this game."

You keep this item on a faction transfer. Went from Blood Elf to Draenei and kept this fishing pole. Good thing too, as I disenchanted the Shattrath pole because this one was better at the time.

It really is helpful to check prior posts; this has been available as a quest reward for both factions for some time now as stated in an early post, despite many people thinking otherwise in subsequent posts.
The stats on this may have been nerfed, but the DPS is til actually better than on my current two handed weapon (a rare 2H weapon/mining pick from Deadmines).
It makes life a lot easier when I am attacked during a spot of fishing, because I don't need to change weapons!

Several of my toons got it below level 25. It is valuable as the best available two handed weapon I have had up to about level 35. Assuming you can use a two handed staff. The most annoying thing at these levels is, you can not enchant or otherwise upgrade it as a weapon.

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Удочка can buy from any trader and is a reward from Деликатесный красный луциан (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Крепкая удочка can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Удочка Стаатса reward from Любовь к окуням in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Удочка из темной древесины fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Большая железная удочка low drop from Ловушка на моллюска.

■ Продвинутая рыбалка Ната Пэгла FC-5000 reward from Хрустогрызы, сэр! (Alliance side) and Хрустогрызы, чувак! (Horde side).

■ Графитовая удочка Сета reward from Без рыбалки (Shattrath City).

■ Пандаренская удочка you can get it if you are honored with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Счастливая удочка Ната reward from Нат Пэгл, великий рыболов, Нат Пэгл, великий рыболов for people already completed this quest before the quest trainer for Artisan Fishing was removed in 3.1.0

■ Арканитовая удочка reward from world event of Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza for to first player who catch Крапчатая вкуснорыбаx40 and give Риггл Мормыш, completing Главный приз, its is the best pole in game with high fishing skill.

■ Удочка со стразами low drop from Сумка с блестяшками (Fishing Quest Daily in Stormwind and Orgrimmar), even a lvl 10 can obtain this item, and Мешок рыбацких сокровищ (Fishing Quest Daily in Dalaran) you must be lvl 70 and got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also if you catch the Черная акула but you are not the first person who completed it, you gain the bag in Пусть тебе улыбнется удача – в другой раз!.

■ Костяная удочка low drop from Сумка с блестяшками, same work with Удочка со стразами.

■ Счастливая удочка драконов you can get it if you are revered with Рыболовы, require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Мастерски сделанная калуакская удочка can buy from Сайрук (Dragonblight) or Танайка (Howling Fjord), you must be Exalted with Калу'ак, its the best pole with cool model and unique breathing underwater in game, you must have the expansion Wrath of the Lich King if you want this item.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.

■ Удочка семейства Блумп is no longer available in game because the Груббер Блумп disappear on events of cataclysm, so Удочка Стаатса and the Джонатан Стаатс replaced them.

Itens on PTR of Warlords of Draenor expansion:

■Дренейская удочка its a item sold by Nat Pagle from Garrison of Alliance in Shadowmoon Valley, you must unlock him in order to purchase it, counting with the lure it will increase 40 fishing skill.

■Яростная удочка Horde equivalent, but now it will sold in Frostfire Ridge on Garrison of Horde.

■[Эфемерная удочка has the high fishing skill on the game, however its temporarily in "online time" doenst depend of "character time played", fished from the waters of draenor, even a level low can adquire this item.

Best 2hander for 29 twinks although it only has a 3.00 speed it has more dps than Кобальтовый крушитель and is way easier to obtain. After killing mobs for a bit my friend said that Продвинутая рыбалка Ната Пэгла FC-5000 was more effective than Кобальтовый крушитель, but he doesn't know if you can enchant it with crusader. (I think you can't enchant fishing poles so if anybody finds out feel free to post here). would love to get this and own people with my fishing pole.

Does anyone else have issues with turning around when you cast? i always end up facing the wrong way when i cast then have to turn around to cast again.

Just a heads-up for BFA, with boosted characters in mind.

The new professions system separates each expansion, so 'Fishing' is Vanilla fishing progression, then there's 'Outland' fishing progression, then 'Northrend' fishing etc.

As a result, although this pole is great, you can't use it until you have Vanilla Fishing at 100.

I've been playing WoW for a while, and really didn't have the new system in mind when I boosted a toon, got the pole, and then did a /headdesk because it didn't affect my fishing skill at all in Kul Tiras, which was the whole point. *Sigh* Nvm, the Hinterlands are ok to visit.

If I'm honest, I'm not sure how the +skill fishing items work now in terms of fish results/rares/pets/mounts etc - not that I really understood it anyway!
