Excellent guide, be useful for me as I'm working through levelling three alts currently, voted 5/5.

Don't forget to try and get your hands on Эликсир древнего знания from Timeless Isle rares!, excellent for skipping large parts of Outland or Northrend or wherever you may choose if you wish, remember it is an elixir not a flask so it finishes upon death, best use is to fill your quest log, complete all, drink elixir, turn all in, repeat.

In your death knight section you mention that you can't get to a mailbox until you leave Archerus. There is actually a mailbox in the DK starting zone, not that it matters because you have to finish the quest chain no matter what your level is.

Good guide; should give quite a few players some additional info.

My own notes, as an altaholic:
*In regards to specific queueing - only do it if you're at risk of leaving that dungeon behind (that is, keep an eye on its level range, and if you get to within 1 or 2 levels of going past it, specifically queue it). In all the alts I've levelled, I've never failed to eventually get a dungeon by only doing random queues.
*If you're levelling a dps-only class, having a near-level friend (or toon on a second account) to boost you into LFD (by the second toon queueing as heals or tank) is very handy. Particularly if your toon can take a few hits while you wait for a new tank to queue in - which should be the case if you're using heirlooms.
*Getting justice for heirlooms and heirloom upgrades is easier than ever at the end of MoP; do at *least* Scholo daily, then there are 4 other 4 boss dungeons you can also selectively queue. Scholo is ridiculously efficient though; 600 JP for about 10-15 minutes of facerolling.
*Regardless of how many toons you are running concurrently, don't buy more than one of any heirloom piece. It's just not worth it. It's very easy to cross-faction mail after a levelling session - just keep a text file handy with the mail-to name (ie. Bobthetoon-TwistingNether) so you can copy and paste after a session.
*Once you get 280% flying, pet dailies and fishing/cooking dailies become a pretty good way of getting efficient xp. None of them get more difficult as you level, but their xp does scale to your level. I personally use them for the 85-90 grind, as I *hate* levelling in MoP zones while undergeared. It should be noted that pet dailies are only efficient if you can faceroll them. If you can't, I wouldn't bother with the ones that you can't steamroll. A mod like PetBattleTeams is invaluable, as for the BC+ trainers you can preset teams designed to whomp them, rather than having to manually switch teams before every tamer.
*If you're an altaholic rather than someone who's just deciding to level a new toon or two, streamline your character creation process. Personally, I've gotten mine down to an art. I'll load in, go to interface, turn on auto loot and turn off buff consolidation. Via the addons menu, I'll turn autoturnin off, load my default profile for Recount, my default profile for Omen, and my default profile for TitanPanel. Via my minimap (care of MinimapButtonFrame) I load my default XPerl profile, and my default Bartender profile. Finally, I reposition my WoWPro window and TomTom, and create a "whisper" window for my chat. I could not imagine how insufferable it'd be to have to do that manually each time I made a new toon!
*If you dual box, I find boosting your levelee through dungeons with a max level toon to start becoming efficient at around the end of BC/start of Wrath. I haven't tested the efficiency for anything before that in quite a while, but from memory it was too inefficient for one reason or another (probably too big a reduction in XP due to the higher level toon).

However, the big one: don't play if you don't have enough rested xp built up. Now, this one is going to come down to personal preference, and some people are going to want to get a particular toon to 90 ASAP, rather than going for the lowest /played possible - but I'm a man of efficiency myself. I actually have 22 alts levelling at the moment - and sure, that is a lot - but the thing is, until about the Wrath levels, a play session tends to take an hour at most to consume the full level and a half of rested xp. So pretty much, I'll play for under an hour and get 2 to 3 levels, depending on supplemental dungeon quest xp. Of course, if you have less time to play you can scale the number of alts back, but 22 hours over an 11 day period works out fine for me (though now that I put it like that, it does sound like a lot ^^').

But in any case, if you have enough toons, you'll always be playing with at least some rested, if not full rested.

Here's a tip from me regarding levelling with heirlooms:

At level 80, if you plan on doing Cataclysm dungeons, especially as a tank and maybe healer, drop your heirlooms for high itemlevel greens and blues that are equippable 79-80.
You will be extremely squishy otherwise, and might die a lot. Even on the upgraded heirlooms the stat scaling at 80 is horrible.

Or keep doing WotLK dungeons until you hit 81.

Once you reach 81 heirlooms become more useful again, though they will lag slightly behind other gear choices; in particular the dungeon rares will usually have better stats (but no exp. bonus)

This should be hidden from the "suggestions" algorithm given how outdated it is. Reckon I saw it taking up screen estate in the results because I had searched using the term "truesilver".
