Death Knight Blood Rotation in

Manage buffs and debuffs
From being rewarded with bonus armor and Runic Power cost reduction from Костяной щит to Гемостаз to amplify your self-healing, these simple buffs are core to your rotation. You don't need to go out of your way for them, either!

Keep cooldowns on cooldown
Танцующее руническое оружие and all your defensive cooldowns are the bread and butter of the spec!

Optimize resources
The rest of the spec revolves around spending Runes to convert them into Runic Power as efficiently as possible. More Runic Power = more Удар смерти!

This is an arbitrary breakpoint that is a measured amount. It attempts to solve two problems:

With it at around this value, you always have two Удар смерти available to you

You also need 45 RP - two to three full Удар в сердце - to overcap Runic Power

Maintain at least 5 charges of Костяной щит.

Cast Вскипание крови if the Кровавая чума copy from Танцующее руническое оружие is not currently on your target

Cast Смерть и разложение if you have a Алая Плеть proc

Fill with Удар вампира

If you run out of runes, cast Вскипание крови

Maintain at least 5 charges of Костяной щит. If Костяной щит is about to expire, press Дробление хребта Are there other generators?
If you are already on 8+ bones and do not have a problem in taunting a target, Хватка смерти works as an effective Костяной щит refresh. Прикосновение смерти is usable in this exact scenario if you cannot afford to taunt something.

Cast Смерть и разложение and stand in it if you get a Алая Плеть proc and Сила плоти is not currently active.

Cast Вскипание крови if you have a Точка кипения proc

Cast Удар вампира if it is available

Cast Вскипание крови to prevent its charges from capping

Cast Удар в сердце

As , every 45 seconds, you will predictably gain two Истребление charges, guaranteeing a Костяной щит duration refresh and additional charges. On top of this, if you play Отголосок ярости, you are also guaranteed to come out of Танцующее руническое оружие at essentially Костяной щит cap.

The problem with this is that, depending on how early you spend those Истребление, you may need to add one Костяной щит generator at the halfway point between Танцующее руническое оружие.

If you are already on 8+ bones and do not have a problem in taunting a target, Хватка смерти works as an effective Костяной щит refresh.

Cast Смерть и разложение and stand in it if you are not currently affected by the buff it provides.

Cast Метка жнеца on cooldown

Cast Танцующее руническое оружие on cooldown

Cast Вскипание крови if Танцующее руническое оружие is active and your target does not have Кровавая чума on it, or if you are about to cap on its charges

Cast Вскипание крови if you have a Точка кипения proc

Cast Вскипание крови as a filler if you have a charge of it available

Cast Удар в сердце as a filler. You should never run yourself out of runes, particularly around the 45 second mark when Метка жнеца is about to come off cooldown

What is a good openerfor m+, say on a new pack? I try to open with a Marrowrend if im low on stacks, else I try to have Swarming Mist. If Mists is on CD, I use Blood Boil. I have a severe issue holding aggro on a pull. I feel like I have to make a choice between mitigation (Marrowrend) and holding aggro (Blood Boil) at times. Any tips?

I think you forgot IBF in defensives.

I think this rotation section needs a bit of a re-write, considering several mentions of "when dragonflight lands"

This page has no mention of AoE rotation

What is "Painful Death"? I don't see that talent anywhere. Was that from an older patch (very early tww)?

So early on in the guide it says use Blood Boil once during DRW... Then at the end it says never use Blood Boil in DRW. Which is it? Makes sense to get 3 dots up on the target especially considering the consumption increase ticking speed.

I !@#$ing HATE the new consumption. Delete this trash pls.

Great write up, I stopped playing way back when Mists of Pandaria was about to come out. I always felt like I haven’t finished enough to have another expansion come out haha! But now I want to start up again and I favor solo play. I’m seeing a lot about the Blood Death Knight being a great option for solo. With all the latest updates don’t still think that’s true? Is this build you’ve written about here, good for solo play? I was going to try out a good ol Druid, but I’ve never tried the DK and it sounds like fun.
