One thing that bothers me about "scientific" arguments is how
faithful
there supporters are. What I know of history has science supporting numerous false arguments. One thing the scientific process has going for it is its ability to adapt to new information, but whose to say some new(or old) way of thinking doesn't come along and unseat the great "Scientific Methiod". IMO when you boil it down to its basest components any discussion of Religion vs Reason vs Science comes down to people making a choice to put their faith in people. You either decide you trust your religious leaders, scientists, or even self. In my experience neither has shown itself an infallible source of information. After all, I've made my own mistakes in behavior and judgement in my life, so whose to say I am the best judge of what is right for me? "At least then you only have yourself to blame." you say? Is it a good thing to decide your beliefs because you more comfortable with you being wrong than someone else?
The thing is, science doesn't necessarily claim that it's 100% true. Religion does.
And considering the fact that science is based on knowledge and provable evidence (even though it's not all provable), while religion is based on ancient traditions that were thought up by people who reasoned that a "god" made the sun come up every morning, I would rather go with what I can prove and understand.

I prefer to base my beliefs in what makes sense in relation to everything else we know, rather than assume that there's a huge exception in all the laws of reality we've come to understand already.
And yes, I know for a fact that I have a greater knowledge of the physical universe than someone who lived six thousand years ago.

To add to religious debate, the christians practically took the idea of hel from the pagans, the old testemant of the bible makes no mention of a place called hell, only a pit of fire and sulphur.
First - Burning lake of fire = Hell in Christianity.
Second - Christianity as we know it started around the time of 0 A.D. The vikings/Norsemen came later so . . .

What do vikings/norsemen have to do with anything?

You Christians are so unimaginative.
Open minded people are so sterotypical and closed minded.

Christmas presents are the only good things Laihendi got out of Christianity. Laihendi doesn't benefit at all from the other religions though so that's actually pretty good.

Lol.
Edit - Laihendi, my point was that giving gifts on Christmas wasn't really instigated by Christians it was the culture.

Fun fact: Jesus Christ (if he existed) wasn't really born in the 25th!
*The more you know!*
