Are "the people" all on the quest?

Remember that parts of Icecrown are 'zoned' like an instance.
Case in point, Battle of Undercity.

If people are in different parts of certain quest chains in some Northrend areas, the zoning changes and they won't be able to see each other. It only effects certain areas where certain quest chains take place... Icecrown probably has the most dynamic examples of this.

so, they hafta have done every quest i did? in every zone?
No, they have to have done certain quests in icecrown. Moreover, if they have done quests you haven't, they might not be able to help you because of zoning again. They really should have worked in a mechanic where if you group with someone, you're pulled into the phase of the leader.

ok, i found a way around this: i had a tank (on the quest) mark a mob, the we both attack that mob until he dead, and voila, we did it, looked like i was soloig, but i had an invisable tank, i am ele/resto sham
same thing happened with me. I was phased past the death knight I was grouping with. They tanked/attacked first and gave me a heads up right before attacking. We could both fight the same mob even though we couldn't see each other.
edit: Reread the thread a little better, I don't think you'd be able to heal each other. In my case it was warlock/DK so we just burned the mobs down.
