For Horde, I went from Grom,Gol to UC on the Zep and rode round to the entrance to Silverpine, then swam a little to Fenris Isle and rode down to Alterac, this was quicker than flying from UC to TM and riding.

The entrances are in the buildings. the buildings have walls missing, took me a short while to find.

Horde fly to Undercity then you can simply swim or mount round lordamere lake staying to the south

Recap..

For this quest u need to go all the way back to UC and then to either tarren mill or sepulcher to get to AV, coords 15.6,

so its in the bottem of the lake .. hes standing at the water ....

Next part is to fly to shazz city right in the center where u get all the portals etc

For those of you about to wander around Crystalsong Forest for hours on end like I did, don't. The Dalaran that you need to be heading towards is the old Dalaran which is located in Alterac Mountains, not the city Dalaran.

Also, here is a map.

Edit: Looks like Blizzard fixed their misleading quest text so that it directs the reader to "Dalaran Crater" instead of "Dalaran." Not so misleading anymore.

For those of you doing this since the Cataclysm: It is in Hillsbrad Foothills (Alterac Mountains was absorbed during the Shattering).

Description

These signs do not bode well for us, <name>. I've never been one for secrecy so I will tell you a bit about my organization, the Violet Eye.

We are agents of the Kirin Tor, the Magus Senate of Dalaran. We were assigned to keep an eye on Karazhan and Medivh, in case things got out of hand.

Which they did... very quickly, after Medivh disappeared.

This report details my findings. Take it to Archmage Cedric, also from the Violet Eye; you will find him in the outskirts of Dalaran Crater.
