Head down to the waters surround Halaa to find these Muck Spawns. FYI - they look exactly like water elementals, but are not immune to frost. Sorta hard to find/loot after you kill them if you aren't paying attention

Collected 5 cores in 6 minutes. Just keep moving around halaa basin, no need to wait for respawns.

They are immune to my lightning bolt guys. They are immune to nature, but not immune to frost.

They reside in the mote of water surrounding Halaa. All the above coordinates are correct.

Not sure if the drop rate has been changed but for me it was pretty close to 50%

There are wandering around Halaa, just into the river down there. Took me about 12 minutes to gain Muck-ridden Core (5). They have like 20% drop.

I killed 20 before my first drop, then 8 more for the second... Not a great drop rate. Did manage a blue drop though.

immune to lightning bolts and earth shock, so this quest sucks a fair amount on elemental shaman.

bad, hard quest, the bolts hurt and hit pretty often. dont try it if ur not 66+

Done as a 66 mage, easiest quest i have ever done, looks like they resist frost but they dont. Killed 5, Dropped 5 :)

This quest is damn hard as a shaman, especially if you're elemental. I suggest you get a flame shock on them and then just keep it renewed. Searing tots, and poison cleansing tots are good too.

Was actually very easy for a rogue so 66+ isn't needed. I did it on 65.

Just did this quest (64 pally) dropped about 5 every third dude i killed not awful but a pretty rough fight due to the fact that they blast u w/ some kind of poison every second and my finger started to hurt after the 1000th time i hit cleanse

This is a very easy quest as a hunter, i would reccommend picking up "Eating Damnation" there are many Enraged Crushers. This is also a great quest to give you a reason to farm Mote of Water. Happy hunting =)

Me being the Elemental Shammy i am i had a bit of trouble because they were nature resistant. They can Be found around Halaa in the water for all of u ppl with out mods. or 44 ,48 :]

FYI, their Poison Bolt attack is interruptable while many other "Poison Bolt" attacks are not.

Very easy to do as you can easily take them on one at a time without worrying about others attacking, It was a 56% drop for me and got all four of them in 9 kills so easy!

Don't try to jump down the waterfall to get to the bottom faster. The water isn't deep enough to survive.

The water IS deep enough to survive, but only in certain places. If u look at the water theres a noticable difference in color wheres its deep and where its shadllow

As a lvl 66 warrior i found this quest pretty hard. I'm arms specced, and if ur not lucky with crits these can be nast, I had to eat almost after everyone. And if 2 comes: Use cooldown, Or run :P poison hurt.

As an elemental shaman this is a true pain in the neck.
They are immune to almost everything except frostshock and flameshock.
Put flametongue on weapon, pop searing totem, use flameshock and frostshock until flameshock wears of.. redirect the poisons with grounding totem and have poison cleansing totem do the rest.

you kill, but no as fast as you do..

So I jumped down there thinking:"Haha, this will be as easy as pie!"(mmm, love pie) As I pulled 3 mobs(Pala AoE), I noticed how fast my Health went away, used mostly all CDs(Except Lay on Hand), still couldn't do it.
Lesson of the day: Never underestimate Muck.

I did this quest as a 65 Feral Druid. These mobs aren't very tough, but their poison bolts get kind of annoying. The drop rate isn't totally horrible, but it definitely isn't the best.

It's a very good idea to do the quest 'Eating Damnation' along with this quest because they are all around the same area.

just did it with ele shamy... SOOOOO hard.
IMO, u can complete the q if you, use nature res totem, poison clealsing totem and wrath totem. Used only frost shock and also water shield on the 6 sec CD. Just be sure you heal when the elemental casts poison bolt and don't think you'll have a problem

Rogues- Do not try to use poisons in this quest. They are immune. Using cloak of shadows might help with this quest considering the elementals hit with Magic damage. These elementals are in the water surrounding Halaa. Do not jump from Halaa or Anywhere to get to this spot. Enter the area from 39,39.

At LOC 45,40 there is a ramp down to the water - the drop rate was 1 in 3 and you can draw them away from their friends and the water up the ramp for easy kills.

For some reason, the quest rewards have the lowest item levels of any BC gear. They're ilvl 79, when a normal level 57 green (the lowest in BC) is ilvl 81.

deep points in water by halla.makes the jump easier if your faction controls halla but if not and your a mage, use slow fall!

I have multiple characters and I have noticed that this quest in the past had a terrible drop rate. However, I noticed that the drop rate at around 49,10 is much better almost 100%. Good luck.

Muck Diving

Elementalist Lo'ap at the Throne of the Elements in Nagrand wants you to retrieve 5 Muck-ridden Cores.

	Muck-Ridden Core (5)

Description

The most affected elements of water can be found in the Halaani Basin, southwest of here, beneath the abandoned city of Halaa. While some distressed elements can be destroyed without any impact upon the environment, spawns of muck must be physically removed from the world once destroyed.

You see, muck spawns leave behind globules of tainted debris that if left untouched will spread and further contaminate the environment.

Destroy these muck spawns and bring back their muck-ridden cores.
