Run up to the control panel, click the seed, and you're good to go.

The control panel is hard to see. Run under the center of the steam pump and use the seed.

The Naga call for help and aggro at unexpected times, so it's a good idea to clear a wide path before activating the seed.

The male naga will call for a nearby slave to assist them. If you don't hit the slave, it will leave combat and run back to work after the naga dies. Leave pets in passive mode to avoid hitting the slaves.

Don't throw away your seeds when you have completed disabling all the towers. You will not be able to complete the quest without the seeds in your inventory.

After you use the seeds in a pump an new Overseer spawns. It takes a few moments so you can just run away and escape without fighting.

Watch out for the patroling water elementals around the pumps and the sorcerers around. Sorcerers have a special AoE attack that surrounds you with icebergs and traps you, causing you to lose 50% of your health.

As a level 70 grinding Cenarion rep I found it easy to do this quest by dismounting on up of the tubes above the controls and using the seeds, the naga evade and you don't have to fight them :)

No fight needed for rogues (as usual :D )
Just distract to the other side the Overseer, sap him, lock pump and stealth.

While you're doing this quest, make sure to kill the Steam Pump Overseers until they drop (9.2% chance)

Tips for lazy classes :

Druid: Pull : Entangle Roots -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Hunter: Send your pet -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run (You could also use Freezing Trap)
Mage: Sheep -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Paladin: Hammer of Justice -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Priest: I don't think of any spell that could be useful in this case :p
Rogue: Sap -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Shaman: I must say I don't know this class much, but I believe you could do : Stoneclaw Totem -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Warlock : Send your pet -> Ironvine Seeds -> Run
Warrior : Nothing to do, if you fear you may aggro surrounding mobs

Bringing along a party member would be nice, but not needed. All of the locations where you must use the seed are guarded by 60,000 nagas. Be aware that if you use the seed while your pet is attacking the Overseer, you will complete the objective but it will spawn another Overseer on you.

the one in the dead mire is not part of the quest, i ran around for a good 15 minutes in the dead mire lookin for the controls before i realized it wasn't one of the steam pumps.

I recommend doing this quest along with A Warm Welcome.

It makes for a smoother quest grind. A lot easier than killing naga after naga and THEN having to kill them to get to the steam pumps.

you can hide behind the pump that the panel is on and still plant the seeds if you wish

also note that the sed can be used on the same pump over and over meaning you can farm naga claws off one pump.

Just finished this quest (with help) as a lvl 61 enh shaman. It is VERY advisable you seek help because the naga aggro easily and also call for back up, so, take a friend, and also becareful in the water as the naga and bloodfins are in the water. If you are a shaman, i would suggest using far sight to see where the controls are and clearing the path to get to it that way.

To easy for rogues just stealth to the location sap guard then use seed while in stealth!Right after you use seed stealth again and walk away! This only happened once and that was at the Lagoon. So rogues you dont have it that easy!

To avoid even having to fight the overseer that spawns at all, use the seed from behind the console - you can use it right through the pillar.

I would like to correct the above coordinates to be compatible with Cartographer’s coordinates for WoW Version 3.0.2. They are as follows:

Umbrafen Steam Pump: 70.5, 80.3
-Marshlight Steam Pump: 25.4, 42.9
-Serpent Steam Pump: 62.0, 40.8
-Lagoon Steam Pump: 63.1, 64.1

Using these coordinates, you can make map notes, set waypoints to the map notes, and then waypoints will automatically clear, when you reach the control panel. Using the other coordinates, you get close but you must manually clear the waypoints.

You can cast the seeds while you are getting hurt, it doesn't cancel the effect it just slows it down smart thing tto do is get near pump, cast seeds, then get out!

Water Walking or Path of Frost is quite useful in this quest.

Just keep walking on the lake until you're near the pump, kill the overseer and you're done ! (watch out for eels / hydras, they can be annoying)

Kill the naga guys first then plant the seed. i had to kill 7 guys before i could use the seed at the Marshlight steam pump, all the rest are easy to get to just watch out for NPC's underwater. DK's have it easy! lol

Were doing this quest with my priest and i discovered at you can use Ironvine Seeds in combat.

I had accidentally put the Ironvine Seeds in my bank, and for some idiotic reason dumping the quest and picking it up again didn't clear them from my bank and place them back in my bags when the quest was reacquired.

Just a heads up that the Steam Pump Overseers will sometimes respawn at a ridiculous rate, like immediately after they are killed so be ready for that. Again sometimes not every time but it happened to me 3 times in a row so just be prepared to kill at least two at a time to complete this.

As of 12-1-12 It proved to be a "keep this in mind as you go" quest for my 62 NE Rogue. As I was doin other Qs I was always close to one of the lakes, so I dropped in n got each part done as I went about the rest of the list. My method, hovering directly over the mob on the controls and targeted him from about 50 or 60 feet. Clicked on my power buff (30 secs worth)Clicked off my bird and clicked stealth on the way down. Soon as I hit ground and got behind him, I hit 'Ambush' then 'Mutilate' , 'Envenom' n he's done! Clicked the seeds n of course the bad guy spawns screamin for help n they get there fast. BUT, the nice thing about Rogues is the 'Vanish' buff. Hit 'Vanish' go back to stealth n everyone goes back to whatever! Ran in stealth to where I could click my bird and byby hard times! Easy Peasy!

• Accept the quest, Balance Must Be Preserved, from Ysiel Windsinger at coords 78.4, 62.0 (Cenarion Refuge).
• Travel southwest to Umbrafen Lake, located at coords 70.5, 80.2.
• Use your Ironvine Seeds to disable Umbrafen Lake Controls.
• Travel northwest to the Lagoon, located at coords 63.2, 64.3.
• Use your Ironvine Seeds to disable Lagoon Controls.
• Travel north to Serpent Lake, located at coords 62.1, 40.9.
• Use your Ironvine Seeds to disable Serpent Lake Controls.
• Travel west to Marshlight Lake, located at coords 25.6, 43.1.
• Use your Ironvine Seeds to disable Marshlight Lake Controls.

Balance Must Be Preserved

Ysiel Windsinger wants you to use the Ironvine Seeds on the Steam Pump Controls at Serpent Lake, Umbrafen Lake, Marshlight Lake and the Lagoon. Then return to her at the Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh with any leftover seeds you have.

Description

I cannot begin to comprehend why the naga would drain the water out of their own habitat. What I do understand is a need to put a stop to their operations.

These seeds carry with them the rage of the earth. Take them to the steam pumps operated by the naga and use them on their controls.

The vines that grow from the seeds will be as thick as your arm and as strong as iron. Go, <name>. Restore the balance that the naga have upset.
