Aggonar's corpse is located at 'Pools of Aggonar (39, 30)' in Hellfire Peninsula,

To use the vial you need to be stood very close to this corpse but with your feet still in the water.

When you use the Water you will summon a level 63 Mob. Kill him and the quest is complete

North-west part of the Pools of Aggonar is a giant demonic skeleton. You can even see the skeleton on your mini-map. At the foot of the ribcage, while standing near poisoned waters, use your cleansing vial and Aggonar will appear. Defeat him and return to the Temple of Telhamat.

I was standing at the front of his rib cage and on land when I did it.

39, 30 is correct, you have to stand on the land facing the skeleton.

If there is a level 63 mob there when you spawn, the quest is bugged. Don't frustrate yourself. You should be able to solo it. The above coordinates are correct. You have to stand very close to the large skeleton.

Just go straight in the Pools of Aggonar and you'll see this huge statue of some sort. If you need more of a description of this thing, it has a green glow at the top, one of the statue's hands is holding a polearm.

40,30 there is a burned spot on the ground just at the end of the hammer hilt, stand there, right click the vial and move back! mob spawns there and you have to kill it. I'd clear the surrounding mobs first though

Easily solo'ed with a 62 Hunter.
Spawn is level 63 non-elite.

40.30 is the only spot that would work for me - once you get him to spawn the mob is very easy

Let me sum this up for you in a very easy way step by step.

1. fight your way to 39, 30.
2. use the potions on a small island/pininciola infront of a huge skeloton.
3. Once the item is used u spawn a 63, the NPC is almost like a pally, with a claymore, but uses warlock spells, and cannot heal.
4. kill the 63 spawn and go home a hero.

This quest is a piece of cake for a 63 hunter and the 39,30 coordinates are spot on. Just watch this guy, because he does fear you and the other mobs in the area could get involved...I'm not sure if you can loot him or not, but his corpse disappears almost instantly

I tried to do this quest, but it seems to be bugged. 26. April 2007. I don´t get the cleansing water provided at the quest giver. If I need to get it somewhere else please let me know.

This quest is buggy. I was able to complete it using the listed instructions eventually. However, The first couple dozen times I used the vial it did not recognize that the bones were there. I moved around and tried in several areas. I gave up after a little over an hour last night. I tried again this morning and was able to complete it. If it doesn't work, skip it and come back later.

Side note: The respawn rate on the slime and demon mobs was insane, as in I could not mana up and loot before they were back and they were attacking 5-7 at a time. One would pull and everything in the area would follow, even out of range. The respawn rate died down some and that is when I was able to complete the quest. I am not sure that one has to do with the other but buggy quest with unusual respawn rate in the immediate area seems worth noting.

If there were any bugs, they are gone now, i stealthed my way through to 40.30, clicked on the water, he spwaned, level 63, killed him, quest complete. Done as level 60 feral druid.

Quest did not work for me, kept saying missing the bones of Aggonar. Cleanded the area got ganked twice and gave up... for now.

Soloed as arms warrior level 61, easy, stand at 40.2, 30.6 just at the spine and you'll get him spawn, he dies easy and doesnt fear.

fyi he does fear; only when there are 2 more or players I found out the hard way as i helped a nearby paly by wanding and it feared me into 3 mobs gg

Just run up to him directly from the front. There's a small discolored circular spot (the "burned spot"), and some small very hard to see bones sticking out of the ground. This is where you use the vial. (for me there was also some Felweed right in front of this spot)

FYI, as a 60 lock soloing it, he feared me but my Felguard kept hacking away, not a hard battle.

If you are having problems getting it to recognize the bones, make sure you are not in Stealth...

Kill the surrounding mobs first, he'll fear you and you'll pull all the mobs.
(found out that if you have the mechanical yeti from winterspring, he fears it instead of you or in my case me or my pet.), he is no hard match idd.

Soloed this as a level 61 Rogue. Used Deadly Poison and Crippling Poison. Happily this guy's ability to **see through stealth** was an aid here - when some Blistering Rots became adds, i could Vanish to drop them but still keep my fight with the main mob active.

This quest has totally changed. Upon using the water it spawns Aggonis and you must kill him. After he dies you complete the quest. He's a level 63 non elite.

difficult to find the exact spot to cleanse the water, until i logged on and looked up the quest, THANKS to the screen shot i got it, was very easy to solo him with a 62 hunter with a cat pet...

Just a couple of quick points which might be helpful:

1. When you're in the right position and right click the vial there's no action bar or anything, the mob just spawns immediately so be on your toes. He spawns on the little bit of land right in front of the corpse and I was standing right next to him so was bit of a shock!

2. He has the ability to make you flee. So I'd suggest clearing all surrounding mobs before summoning him. I'd done the bare minimum and I'm amazed I wasn't walked straight into a couple of bubbling oozes or whatever they're called (and considering the oozes have a couple of little friends with each of them you could find yourself in abit of trouble if this happens).

Other than that the mob itself is relatively simple: lvl 63, oversized felguard. Didn't have much trouble as a lvl 62 nelf druid.

As of 2.4.1 this quests seems to award 250 Exodar rep as opposed to 63 Alliance rep currently displayed on this page. Handy for us non-Draenei types - or anyone who happens to love the Exodar :-)

did every one of these listed here and it wouldnt take the vial must be bugged from l ast patch, anyway after 1 1/2 hours of trying i abandoned the quest.

This quest was a pain for me asa 61 dagger rogue. The felguardish guy has a ton of hp, and regular armor, but hits decentley hard and fast. He is right around 39, 30, or the very north of the pools. Good luck to you all.

Easy thing for me . . I couldn't find the spot to summ him .. so , i saw a troll mage try to kill him.. when the mage had around 20% and he had around 35% hp .. I killd the mage.. he attkd me , killd him EEEASY , and done :)

I guess this has changed since the first few posts. Either way, there is a small "island" that is directly in frnt of the corpse. That is where you stand and right click on the bottle. After you click on the bottle a lvl 63 non-elite will come up and you can kill him easily!

This quest is such a complete pain & just not worth it in my opinion. I stand at 40, 30 right at his bones. I go in the water, out of the water, near the ribs, up on the corpse, and every single time it says Requires Bones of Aggronar no matter how close I'm standing to it. I've done this quest on 4 different toons & the spot is never the same. This time it was right smack in the middle in front of the bones, not even in the water.

I walked up to it until it stopped logging the distance on the quest helper, clicked the vial, killed the guy. Done. Not difficult at all. Just clear out the stray guys around it before you do it. Easy stuff.

All you reallly have to do is go under the nose of agganor,he is big and u can prolly see he looks a like a green rock he is really hard to notice as a corpse at first...

he has a staff in one of his hand(the one on the right) and he has a skull atop his head.

The comment buy Keniacon was very helpful and im clarifying that there is a little crevice right before the big skeletons ribcage, stand there and use the potion and he will appear behind you. Hope this helps :D

you will have to stand right in front of the giant corpse but not so clsoe that you touching it then use the water and it will summon a lvl 63 with 8.8k hp but is farley easy to kill becasue he has a slow attack speed he also casts corruption which can do a fare amount of damage

First off, the bones are located in the Pools of Aggonar at (39,30).
I tried a million times trying to get this quest right, and all i got was "Requires bones.. blah blah blah." What one needs to do is stand about 10 feet in front of his spinal cord STILL with your FEET IN the water. After doing this the Level 63 felguard looking guy named Aggonis, his son, appears and says, "Fools! You seek to abjure my father's presence? Death awaits you, mortals!" He has a lot of health, and also a claymore for a weapon; he uses warlock-type attacks (fear and curruption.) Such is why you should clear a few mobs around so you don't have a wonderful time dying by the hand of trash mobs because you were feared into them. Which always ruins my day, haha. (: Hope this helps, and good luck!

What a pain this is! Finding him takes forever. I didn't need to be in the water but I turned at the burn mark at the base of the hilt and faced away from the skeleton towards the poll and right clicked. That brought him. Killing him was the easy part.

Stand in front of a little stone called TEMP something, then use the vial, and a mob 63 lvl will appear in front of that big corpse. You don´t need to stand in the Water!

I stood under the big statue. You don't need to get in the water. Use the vial and the target will appear and you kill him. You loot him quickly for some silver and then he disappears. It was very easy. I was a new level 62 hunter.

Let me just say as a newbie to wow over all, this quest took me forever to complete, although it was an easy kill , finding the exact place to stand to activate the vial was a joke, there should be some sort of glistening aura or something added to this , it was also funny to me about the corpse being so huge that I never noticed it was even a skeleton ~! HAH!

Damn, I finally found the right spot and like the others it took a bit to find.

I ended up standing right at the base of his weapon where it goes into the ground and he spawned just a lil bit away.

Actually,

What is probably happening is that most of you have done other quests here. Killed the acid spitting glob monsters and looted, without noticing that one of the things you have looted are the bones you need to make the spell work. Where you stand is basically not relevant. You need to kill the blob monsters in front/around the body, until you pick up one of his bones. Then the spell should work.

Definitely best way is to stand at the base of the sword going into the ground, I had tried standing all over the thing and nothing worked until that and I was not in the water.

I stood around coords 40.3, 31.0, the pin above says 40.2, 30.4 and it finally took there. The window seems to be TINY!

Note that the Cleansing Vial you need is not highlighted as a quest item if you are looking for it in your inventory.

Ok I found him at 40, 31 but he seems to have a slow respawn rate. You just have to keep trying or go away and try another day.

The mob you want is NOT standing anywhere. He doesn't spawn until you My level 63 Druid did this with no problem at all. Kill the mobs that are around 40.2 30.8 so they won't attack when the big guy comes. When you are ready, click the cleansing bottle and the mob you want will appear. Kill him quickly and he won't have a chance to cast his 'fear'.

The first to comments helped me complete the quest. I'm glad I looked it up FIRST before trying to search lol. Thanks for the tips about the burnt ground... for me it was just a lighter shade of the dead ground around it. Kudos for the tips.

Thanks guys. Just as advertised at the base of the spine of the giant corpse there is a lighter brown spot. Use the vial and the son appears. Kill him you are done. I first thought it was the giant corpse and when I couldn't get it to work thought it was a red herring. I went next door and killed that boss and his maidens. There is a skeleton in the bowl in front of him. Waste of time. This quest is strange. Usually if you get close its good enough. This one is picky picky picky. Cannot be solved alone unless you are very lucky.

Super easy to do with my lvl 64 Death Knight. Stand at coordinates 40,30 then click the vial and unleash hell on Aggonis. Took me no more than 30 seconds to kill him.

Hi,

I'm level 72 pandaren hunter and upon reaching the location (coord 40,30), Aggonis is already on the map. Right click on item Cleansing Vial but nothing happen. Cannot attack Aggonis as well.

Anyone can help me on this quest?

1. Cleansing the Waters
• Accept Cleansing the Waters from Amaan the Wise at coords 23.4, 36.6 (Temple of Telhamat).
• Travel east, to the Pools of Aggonar to coords 40.2, 30.8 and use the Cleansing Vial, you were provided.
• Aggonis will be summoned, kill it once this happens.
• Travel west to coords 23.4, 36.6 and turn in the quest to Amaan the Wise.

I was fighting Aggonis, and at about 30 percent he vanished and a Terrorfiend appeared as if I had phased out. Not sure if this is a new bug or not.

Cleansing the Waters

Amaan the Wise wants you to travel to the Pools of Aggonar and use the Cleansing Vial at Aggonar's corpse. Return to him when Aggonar's essence is cleansed from the water.

Description

I must ask that you finish what we've set in motion. Now that the demonic influence has weakened you must take this cleansing vial and pour it at the very source of the taint - Aggonar's own corpse.

You will find the demon's bones at the northern end of the pools. Beware, I sense that Aggonar's essence has not quite left this world.
