There is a bug that makes this quest impossible to finish. If you hand in the tokens to the nearby NPCs before starting the quest, you can get soft-locked. Because the NPCs only accept the tokens once, the quest does not count tokens that were already given to them before the quest began.

Update: It is fixed after every reset. If you go to the NPC who gives the quest, you should be able to pick up a new quest that gives you 3 new tokens. That worked for me. Just make sure you have the quest The Subtle Game active when you give the tokens to the NPCs

Due to a quest error, it is no longer possible to receive the quest for a helmet for 9 reputation. Why did I level it up? @Blizard

Wanted your champion helmet for lvl 9 rep on week 1? Please wait for a month so small indie developer fixes it.

I gave the tokens before picking up this quest with my main.
Tried to do the event anyway but i'm still not recieving the champion head quest.
I'm locked with my alt aswell (finished the campaing but not of the previous quest appear on the map)
Am I premanently locked out of the item of can I have another try on the next reset? Anyone knows how to solve this?

Comment by Gabimaru

I opened a ticket for this quest and its still "buggy".

The answer was pretty simple from the GM:

Hello Gabimaru, this is Game Master Nizuzigu.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and bring this situation to our attention. I truly understand your frustration. I'm currently stuck myself. As much as we here in Customer Support want to help you, even we GMs have limits to our authority, and only our developers can resolve these issues. We need to be a little more patient while they fix the problem with this quest.

It was a pleasure assisting you today. I hope you have a great day. If you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
GM Nizuzigu

So - if you accept the quest and didnt receive the "tokens" of this quests its not your fault, its a bug.

I found the solution. After the weekly reset I had no quests in my log.

Lord Saltheril offers two quests — you must accept both:

The Subtle Game

Weekly Quest – choose a faction and receive 3 Saltheril’s Favors

Choose a faction (e.g. Blood Knights) → receive 3 Favors.
Turn the 3 Favors in at the factions to unlock a quest.

Then return to Lord Saltheril and complete The Subtle Game.
This unlocks the 246 helmet quest.

Fly to the runestone, activate it, then return and collect the helmet.

Oh good, it's my least favorite part of Shadowlands copy-pasted.

You can give more than 1 coin to the same court faction, which I tested this by giving 2 coins to the magisters followed by receiving 2 different daily quests from them.

The Subtle Game

Hand out 3 tokens of Saltheril's Favor to the factions you wish to aid this week.

	Saltheril's Favor bestowed (3)

Description

Appearances are everything. If the court sees that I favor a certain group, they will follow suit. Take these tokens of my favor and hand them out to our honored guests as you see fit. I suspect they may invite you to partake in their plans and share in the profits, if you choose to align yourself with their cause.
