If you are here about Black Blood Residue, inside the instance, if you don't run straight to the boss, there are side quests in the instance, I personally didn't see anything on the side of my screen explaining these side quests. As I ran through exploring i would see something complete. A couple of side quests i remember off the top of my head was "Kill 3 gnomes" or something and another quest to plant 8/8 bombs, the bombs are highlighted in game and pretty big, as big as a gnome lol. There are some tougher mini bosses. I uploaded a screenshot to show the box the Black Blood Residue comes in. It is where you pick up your reward at the end of the instance, in another chest next to the one you get if you just go right to the boss. Have a great day!

Extra note: (@Lulubelle33) After you complete the side quests, there is a portal that opens up by the bank/auction house, in Stormwind, where the bulletin board is in town center, if the portal isn't there, then the side quests are not complete yet. once you take the portal to the Cathedral you will be in front of the Final Boss entrance!

I was 5/8. I logged off to eat something. Logged back on and I'm 0/8. I guess you need to do this quest all in one go or you lose it. BEWARE

The quests are not marked with a ! as usual quests, they are side objectives that pop up when you are close to them and you can see yellow dots on the minimap to spot them.

This quest and its objective is warbound, if you earn some Black Blood Residue on several characters, you can send all to one character and complete it that way.

Searched each reward, seems only 2 may be interesting as of May 21st 2025.

Rewards are:

Lesser Rune of the Void Ritual - not a positive comment so far
Lesser Rune of the Twisted Appendage- no comments on performance
Lesser Rune of Gushing Wound - no comments on performance
Lesser Rune of infinite Stars - issues seeing it proc
Lesser Rune of Echoing Void - positive comment, seems to work
Lesser Rune of Twilight Devastation- works in pvp (may be bug for pvp, and be reversed later?)

Found it laborious that it wasn't listed as a reward here and had to search each one manually just to find out what it was about.
May be fixed or updated at a later time.

BTW - if you finish the quest, you can ask the NPC about getting other runes for 500 Displaced Corrupted Mementos each.

Thnx for bringing this crap back...that i didnt wana do when it was relevant....MoP remix barely was passable, this is not...not counting i went back and solo'ed this 50times 6mnths ago and was sorta commited to buying the 100,000k token mount...then stopped cos i had a life...Horrible SW, ORG wasnt any better, next week I presume. On the positive side we seem stronger but it'l take time to stay in longer becos of the buffs/talents we get. Items seem nice but still low iLvL.. Try taking a group, test out if u can all use a different time lapse, GL

Black Blood Residue needed for this quest is bond to warband BUT if you got more than 8 in your bag when you turn in the quest , it will remove everything you got.... just learned the hard way.....

For anybody who might be unclear on how to acquire these, you get one for each area you complete objectives in. For example, heading into the Dwarven District this week you will see three corrupted Gnomes cornering Kelsey Steelspark. Rescue her and she'll give you a quest to set 8 bombs in the Dwarven District and detonate after which a boss will spawn in. Kill the boss to complete the objective and at the end of the run there will be a second chest with a Black Blood in it for you. Clear the Trade District to get a another and so on...

You Have to run multiple times to achieve it and only rewards a lesser vision enchantment. Super annoying and boring.

I'm doing my first visions this week and I cannot see this quest anywhere. I'm able to do visions but I can't get the head enchants, anyone else having issues with this or am I simply missing something?

all of the rewards are for Season 2. since Season 3 has started, why is this still here? what a waste of time...

My advice:

1. Take a class that tanks.
2. Take upgrades that primarily increase your sanity, then ones that reduce its use, then upgrades to increase damage
3. You can complete this quest purely by constantly going to one area (for example, rescuing prisoners)
4. During the process, you will receive enough resources to periodically make improvements (a large hourglass), but do not spend them all to leave some for the quest, because then you will have to run again, and I do not recommend this because it is boring.

whaaat! why is this in remix and I cant even find a way to get to Dorn/Dornogal.

I am Dongal and accepted the quest. But all I can do is go in kill the the infected outside then go in and defeat Thrall. I then get logged out by a NPC saying completed. But the other areas I can't reach. What am I doing wrong?

Beware. I fell through the ground at one point. There is a glitched spot in the ground. Near 45 54 in vision of Org.

Borrowing Corruption

Find Black Blood Residue and Displaced Corrupted Mementos from the bosses of the Corrupted and Lost areas of the Horrific Visions.

Description

Adventurer, I have made an amazing discovery. Analyzing the memories from the time I have discovered that I might be able to recreate the corruption effects that have been wielded in the past. Albeit in a much more controlled way. I will need you gather some black blood residue from defeating the bosses of the Corrupted or Lost areas of the map and a few more of the displaced corrupted mementos.
