If you pick your own name in the previous quest The Most Important Thing (i. e. Fungal Fellowship), Boletus won't like the team name and the quest text will be slightly different:

Fungus... Fellows? Weird name. Who chose?
Don't worry about. Ok, ready?
You and the Fungus Fellows head on down, and we say words.
You fight Spore Storm. If beat, fight Cap Clash.
If beat, fight Fungus Force.
Always-winners are Glow Guard. You won't beat.
No run out! Run out is big, big lose.

Talking to Motta is listed as optional in the quest. After killing far too many waves, I realized it was not optional. If there are a bunch of gold farmers spamming, I just nature swiftness chain lightninged one single pack, so I think maybe you only need 1 pack tagged to get credit.

As of 20.03.2026, the groups are providing 3xp each, and do not spawn forever.

In The Most Important Thing, you can choose between 4 options for your team's name:
1) The Ringcaps (Brakko's choice)
2) The Puffguard Tuktuk's choice)
3) The Sporesworn (Ziny's choice)
4) The Fungal Fellowship (presumably, your character's choice)

If you choose "The Ringcaps", Brakko will say:

Ringcaps was choice. Caps are best part of us!

If you choose "The Puffguard", Tuktuk will say:

Puffguard, most good choice that could be, <Name>!

If you choose "The Sporesworn", Ziny will say:

Sporesworn is good name. Will help us try most hard. We sworn now.

Nobody says anything when you choose Option 4, "The Fungal Fellowship". No emotes, either. :(

For the first 3 choices: When you go to turn in the quest to Tuktuk, in the quest text box he will say:

Ringcaps / Puffguard / Sporesworn, perfect! Was best name.

Now we ready.

Will run into pit together, shout the Ringcaps / Puffguard / Sporesworn, eh...

Crowd will cheer, then will be new champions!

For Option 4: When you go to turn in the quest to Tuktuk, in the quest text box he will say:

Fungal Fell...owship, ok. Now we ready.

Will run into pit together, shout the Fungal Fello...sip, eh...

Crowd will cheer, then will be new champions!

Also, if you chose Option 4, the next quest's text will be a bit different, too:
Boletus, in the quest text box for To the Ring, says:

Fungus... Fellows? Weird name. Who chose?

Don't worry about. Ok, ready?

You and Fungus Fellows head on down, and we say words.

<The rest of the quest text is the same regardless of which name you chose.>

If you chose any of the first 3 options, this part of the quest text when accepting To the Ring will read:

Ringcaps / Puffguard / Sporesworn? Not bad. I like!

You and the Ringcaps / Puffguard / Sporesworn head on down, and we say words.

<Et cetera.>

After accepting To the Ring, if you chose "The Fungal Fellowship", the spectators will have things to say, too!
Motta says:

Team has a name now.

But Motta... isn't sure. What is Fungly Follows Hip?

Hard to yell that name when in Pit. Could have kept being "<Name>'s team". Would be easier for yell.

Still, Motta will yell.

Once you run into The Pit, your team will attempt to yell the correct name:

Brakko yells: The Fungal Fellosh!

Tuktuk yells: The Fungus Falls!

Ziny yells: The Fungal Fellowship!

Ziny yells: You will get right next time. Is hard name.

(I would include what Motta says --and what your team yells as they enter The Pit-- if you chose any of the first 3 options, but since we can't redo quests, I can't do that until I hop on another character, which will be quite some time.)

What the team yells when you enter the ring depends on the chosen name, plus something added for each option.
For example for Brakko's "The Ringcaps" choice, they all yell that name (in order Brakko, Tuktuk, Ziny) followed by Brakko yelling "Ringcaps name is for Brakko's cap. Look so good."
Since this can only be done once per character, not sure of the other 2 options ("your" name-choice is already written down by "DaemoniKira" earlier)

for me just now, everything went according to plan. name calling, the whole routine. but while I got the loot, no quest credit on second attempt.
