If you have an issue where when clicking the chest you are strangled in the air and nothing else happens. Abandon the quest and retake it. Next time you approach the chest don't fly directly to it, walk past the NPCs out front and Arathor should instruct you to take the mantle - then the quest will work as intended.

Then she runs off and disappears. Leaving us behind.

I wonder if Blizzard is aware of the irony of what they did there.

The story of the Mantle of Predation reminds me of the story of the Deathly Hallows in Harry Potter. In The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the eldest of the three brothers who have defeated Death chooses to possess a wand like no others, that would never lose a duel. He fights with the wand and of course wins, only to be killed in his sleep by the next power-hungry wizard. Whoever owns it, is destined to be stabbed in the back by the next person/entity seeking power.
