- Click Shifty Sand piles down on the beach
- If a treasure chest spawns it has a treasure in it (Treasure chests are shared with other players and don't despawn when looted)
- If a mob spawns you can just run, they don't seem to drop treasures

Expect to be here awhile. Mostly adds seem to spawn instead of chests. It looks like multiple people can pickup/loot the chests though.

No, you're not going crazy, it isn't bugged - if a mob spawns, you get no quest items. What you're looking for are the chests that can spawn instead of the mob. Might take a while to finish, but hey, at least it's a somewhat realistic look at digging for treasure at the beach, right?

You need to get 5 shiny treasures. Expect to dig up 20+ holes to get those 5 treasures, because the hostile mobs that spawn from treasure-less holes, don't drop any treasure. Anyway, I'll be skipping this quest in the future.

Otherwise directions:
See sand pile.
Dig in sand pile.
Hope there's a gold treasure box, click it.
If not, kill hostile mob for no reward.

Dig around 10 different piles and got 5 npcs and 5 treasures ... quest seems fine unlike what you could expect from the other comments here

There were several other players around doing this quest. I watched a druid find 3 treasures in a row. You can loot the chests that other players find without stealing it from them. So, I found my 5 in just a few minutes from tailing 3 different players. The view distance on these is long, so have a look around if there are many players on the beach.

Just an FYI, if you have not done the Campaign quests to unlock this area on your alt, even though you can pick up these dailies they will not be active in the zone for you until you complete the campaign quests.

This might be a stupid question, but do you guys think the sand piles with treasure in it have different item ID's than the ones that spawn the mob? I remember there was a quest in Mechagon that you knew which one to click on according to the item ID.

Helpful tip to anyone wanting to do this fast.

As soon as you finish digging up the sand pile immediately start casting your flight mount.
The mobs that spawn have a half-second delay before they can target you which lets you fly away pretty easily.

Time saver for Druids: travel to each sand pile in flight form, then Cat Form and Prowl before digging up the little sand pile. You won't come out of Prowl unless you get an actual chest/treasure to loot.

Go pro... and let others do the work for you. Try to complete the quest when several people are digging like on Tuesday. Fly around and when you see a chest spawn for them swoop down and collect. Hurry though because they despawn quickly.

You can spam your flying mount while looting the sand mound and if it's a mob, then just fly away. Saves a LOT of time on this one.

Description

You look like the type who ain't shy to get your hands dirty. Up for a little treasure hunting? Word has it that a ship exploded not far off the Kaja'Coast. Go to shore and see what the tide's brought in. "Finders keepers" is one of the foundational tenets of goblin society, after all.
