After using the torch, your character will either keep their arms down (not near a treasure) or raised in front of them (when near a treasure), the torch will also add a circle around the flame while it is raised.

Just run around the area's marked on the map, Works mounted.

The items can be found as follows:

Jeweled Eye - Southmoon Ruins, just Northeast of the Valley of the Watchers where the quest start - at the big stone head (40.86, 70.64), the left eye of the statue (its left) will trigger the torch, the right eye is the Jeweled Eye that needs to be picked up.
Cool Guts - Southmoon Ruins, again, Crystallized Mucus looks like a brown rock, east of the ruins (42.21, 71.198), the torch will melt the mucus and a Tanaris Sandworm will pop up. When killed, it will drop Cool Guts.
Golden Chalice - Eastmoon Ruins, just Northeast of Southmoon Ruins. There is a chest on the West side (45.00, 64.59) that contains Golden Chalice.
Fragment of an Ancient Statue - Broken Pillar, North of Eastmoon Ruins. There is Ancient Statue, an Anubis, that is marked as friendly. The torch should trigger it to go hostile. Once killed, it should drop Fragment of an Ancient Statue.

If you hand in Big Stick of Revealing but don't accept Tweasure Hunt right away, Maru will disappear. If this happens, you can find him/her again back at the celebration grounds in front of caverns of time by Benatauk, where he/she gave out her original quest.

I can't get this part of the quest to work. I've turned off all my mods, reloaded, logged off, and logged back in. I stand near the areas with my torch lit, and nothing. Is there anything else I can try?

Wow this is bad. I understand the expansion is 3 months early, people have left or been let go, they don't have the hours to even fix the 2 month old guild bank bug where thousands of people lost 90% of their items. But seriously....

You start out with action buttons, then mid series switch to your toy that was already coming up an action button. Then as we're finding items, One glows from a distance and doesn't have an animation after the torch, two are highlighted on mouseover (one of those being a mob with no plate) and the third is non-interactive. So after a bunch of running around and random clicking in the desert you find the torch lights up on the non gem eye, but you click on the gem eye, what? I mean did we have AI create this crud.... Still going downhill....

So Ancient Statue was super bugged, it never triggered the flare. So I change shards (joined a group in LFG that was killing Sha of Anger), that helped.

Here is what happened to me:

I did the Chromie Codex before. But when you leave the codex by talking to Chromie, after it was completed, she will port you back to normal Azeroth, but not remove you from the instance group. So you are solo, but in a raid. Thus no quest items dropped. You can do the torch thing and it will play the animation and you can start to loot, but the items will just not be there when the loot window opens. Happend to me with the Guts and the Eye Jewel and I actually took a while till I noticed *facepalm*

I had the bug where imy character kept stating 'i need a target' over and over, even after abandoning the quest and starting over. reloading and relogging did not help.

I eventually had to (like suggested above) change shard by using group finder to join raids doing the areas 3 bosses. it took several tries (because i don't think it would allow me to loot while actually in a raid) but clicking the chest RIGHT after leaving a raid worked for me. i hope this helps others bypass this bug.

The sandworm is tough for a squishy lvl 70 rogue...

I missed it for awhile do to save you trouble, for the jeweled eye, the torch will activate on the right eye. You have to collect the Jeweled Eye from the left socket.

IF YOU ABANDON THE QUEST (as I did), you cannot pick it back up where you originally picked it up, near Uldum - you need to go back to the festival area. Maru will be standing there, where you first found him, and will give you the quest again.

If the Jeweled Eye is bugged for you, as it was for me, the easiest way to get this would be to do the following.

1) Join a raid group for the world bosses in Tanaris from someone on a different server
2) Let them finish up the bosses/go kill them with the group
3) Stay in the group until you become the leader
4) Convert the raid to a party, you can then loot the gem

I tried addons on/off no difference. The torch stays down by my side and will not make the beam to the eye. When I run the command /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(84363)) it says true which makes me think I did this quest before and didn't remember BUT I thought this was a new quest.

This quest is entirely broken for the red jewel portion. Just came back to the game today to do the anniversary stuff. Not off to a good start.

Edit: Ok tried again with changing shards, joined a group, waited for them to finish boss and leave, converted to party and managed to loot the eye...
