Check the 3 blue portal in the anniversary area first if any will take you to Northrend.

I'm going to say these quests are the most frustrating thing ever. After you go to Borean Tundra and find Rexxar you go to the X he puts on your map. Use your torch and Idol to find the 3 clues. 1 buried next to building, 1 in building, 1 in bushes. /way #114 85.9 34.0 Fishing Hut (notes 1 and 2), /way #114 88.0 34.6 Bush (note 3). That puts your bar at 20%. Go to sholazar /way #119 49.7 36.0 Glimmering Pillar and use the telescope. This puts your bar at 40%. Then go to Icecrown to Balagarde Fortress. . /way #118 16.0 58.8 Scrapes's Corpse. You will not see the corpse until you use your incense to talk to Maru. That puts you at 60%. Search Scrapes's corpse. That puts you at 80%. Summon Rexxar, tell him you think a shape shifter killed Scrapes. That completes the quest. If your bar bugs out and won't advance and you drop the quest do NOT go back to the event, go back to Rexxar to pick the quest back up.

Use the Goblin Transport Vessel just northeast of the celebration grounds at
/way #71 68.0 41.0 Pre-Calibrated Goblin Transport Vessel

In Borean Tundra, find Rexxar at
/way #114 77.30 46.16 Rexxar

Use your Torch of Pyrreth and Idol of Ohn'ahra at these spots:
/way #114 85.9 34 (Note 1 & 2 inside and outside the hut)
/way #114 88.0 34.6 (Note 3 in the bushes)

Then head to Sholazar and click the telescope at
/way #119 49.7 36.0 (On top of Pillar)

Fly up towards Icecrown to
/way #118 16 58.8 Scrapes Corpse

Use the Spirit's Whistle to summon Rexxar and tell him that Scrapes was killed by a shapeshifter. Return to Caverns of Time to turn in.

I dont get it,
how do i get this "tracking Quest" ?

I have done "the Great detective" but no quest for me after that.

I thought I checked all my chars but I did not. Apparently you need to do them on the same character....go warband :)

Fun fact: 1 Rexxar pace equals about 32 paces for me, apparently... Like girl who is mapping this &*!@ out? If you're trying to actually follow the clues in the notes, do yourself a favour and don't because you'll never find the submarine to start <3

Given that "paces" would be different for every creature in Azeroth, I went in to check with Maru, who says to "put on ya finking cap" so I figured the "32 paces and 44 paces" could be safely ignored, and just use the cap's co-ords. Following these sends one down to the beach where the gobbo machine is, and technically takes one to the Borean Tundra - albeit off the coast in The Frozen Sea.

Seems weird, and your character states "this doesn't seem right" but one can just fly over to the Docks of Unu'pe from there I guess..Maru will be waiting for you there too.

Whoever decided the pace count is not even close to what it's supposed to be. A pace is almost a meter, or a single step made by an average adult male. Source: I was in the Army

You guys this quest is killing me, I have a brainfart and just don't get it. I got the goblin pod to Unu'pe and you end up on an ice flow. Put on thinking cap. The quest says "9 paces West and 27 paces North" – that's in the water. So I go to the dock, as that's mentioned, and start at Maru. 9 paces W and 27 N takes me to the centre of the little dock area. Nothing. How does it work? I've flown around the area 10 times now, and don;t see Rexxar. Also: how is the Thinking Cap supposed to work here? Since the thinking cap sets 0/0 as the point you put it ON, how does it help you find anything?

Anyone know why if you look up "Tracking Quest" in Wowhead there's ONE THOUSAND quests with this name?

Also, my pace count was 84 north, 14 west, but i was doing Nightfallen steps, not Rexxar steps.

When using the pace counter, the thinking cap registers numbers slower than your mounted movement speed, making it hard to track how many paces you've actually taken if you're moving too fast. Also, when given instructions for the pace counter, don't try to match it up like coords.. stand as close to the designated starting location as possible and literally count the number of ticks your pace counter makes while moving in the designated direction. Even if you do this perfectly, it's still not 100% accurate but close enough.. PITA.

I've found a new bug with anniversary quests! Rexxar immediately despawned with his whole tent setup before I could pick up the next quest. I've tried relogging and browsing the bug report forums and I found 2 others who also have this issue. Doubtful this will get fixed before the event ends on sunday.

Just letting you know you aren't crazy and he is being mean and running away without letting us do his next quest.
