I found Zuttiki at 49.52 58.87 in Zaldraszus, and while that's not where the quest marker says they should be for the being yourself quest i can still do the quest dialogue and find out their answer. However, i am not receiving credit for the dialogue/interview. I'm not sure how to proceed.

DO NOT do the entire Emberthal visage quest chain on a new 70 alt. The NPCs you need to talk to for this quest WILL NOT talk to you about this quest until you do their entire original quest chains. So, make sure to do the Emberthal visage chain on whatever character you've done the most side quests with, unless you want to do all of them all over again.

I found this out the hard way. I got to this quest on my new alt and now I have to start the entire Emberthal visage chain over from the beginning on my "main" because it would be faster than doing a quest chain for every single NPC this quest sends you to.

If you get to where Scout Santuun should be (in Ohn'ahran Plains), and don't see her, that's because she's below.

She's in an inn called The Mane Squeeze, with Erynna.
Scout Santuun ends up there, after the quest The Lonely Scout is completed.🧐

This quest appears to have been designed to make you do every side quest that you skipped during the process of leveling your character. I'm doing this with my main character and have had to complete quest after quest to just talk to these NPCs. If Blizzard wants us to pick up and do *every single* side quest we run across, how about they remove the limit on quests in the journal? That way I'd pick them up as I run across them rather than worry about the dreaded "Quest Log is full". I skipped these largely because during leveling there are so many main story quests there isn't room for all of the multi-step side quests that these NPCs are involved with. I'll probably do it later to get the tabard, but make sure you allow plenty of time. It's not one quest, it's about 20 of them.

Having trouble with the Scout Santuun leg of this quest. I have The Lonely Scout available (required before Santuun can be interviewed), but one of my friends does not, and we cannot figure out why - the supposed prerequisites have not been completed by either of us, yet only one of us has Santuun's quest.

Waywatcher Alvi is not at 54.6, 69.4. Anyone else having trouble finding him? Got the rest but he is nowhere in sight even with /tar macro. Pretty sure I've done every quest in every zone.

I don't often complain about %^&* in this game, but after an hour of flying around, trying to do the 'pre-requisite' needed for Scout Santuun she STILL has no quests for me, and wont accept the quest dialoge. This bloody sucks. Terribly designed. Time to bug report.

As a player who returned in late Season 3, I urge you, please do not require completion of all side quests from four patches ago just to finish a single side quest in this patch. I really liked the direction of the storyline, but the necessity to complete all those previous side quests before continuing the current story is overwhelming. If you make these side quests mandatory for progressing, it will likely cause frustration rather than the intended emotion you were trying to evoke.

This is a pretty egregious move by Blizzard. Placing a much desired feature behind these agenda driven side quests is terrible and pretty much sums up the absolutely horrible quest writing and story telling for Dragonflight, the carebear therapy expansion. I'm hoping War Within doesn't continue this trend.

I may be an outlier, but I genuinely loved this quest.

I did it on a character that I boosted during Season 3. Before then, my main was maxed out on all renown, most reps, etc. I did these quests before. All of them.
This expansion has been mostly delightful for me. I absolutely loved it. Redoing these quests and revisiting these characters really made me happy and made me think about how much I'm gonna miss Dragonflight.

All of us have different preferences, and that's okay - I loved this quest.

This has to be an oversight that you have to do the quests again if you havent on that toon, if not whoever thought this was necessary must enjoy making people suffer. This isnt just a quest here and there its like 3-5 per person youre supposed to interview.

Reading the comments I'm really happy I was doing all the side quests at some point in DF.

BUT this tabard isn't worth it either way: it's an old guild tabard that is just ctrl-c ctrl-v with missing belt space and old textures and icons. It's SO lazy on Blizzard's side.

I mean, if you're finally making a Person Tabard at least make it properly: new model, new textures and new icons!

For those that don't know you only need to do this quest on one character after that you can just go to the personal tabard person in Orgrimmar, Stormwind or Valdrakken and you can buy from them a personal tabard and design one that will be different from your main personal tabard, so yes they are per character.

Emberthal: thanks for the intel, now I know. Local dragons: um... so let's have the party anyway, right? (they give you the Tabard access)

Net gain is a tabard transmog for all alts - tuneable individually - if you fuss the details right.

We get suggested-strongly by Viridia to find Emberthal some personal tales from further afield.

Some of the people involved are pairings, so at least those are fewer total coordinates - they are however:

Quest Chain side threads for their area

In contrast to the multitude of pain-and-suffering comments, it is not EVERY side chain in the zones. It is their particular side chain. I'd still recommend doing it on whoever you were gonna do "Sojourner" / all the side quests on but it is not absolutely all side quests. (That's Taivan. if you want the goodest boi evar to be your huge mount, you have a lot of work ahead; but that is not this quest.)

The threadings are

(Thaldrazsus, Tyrhold Reservoir) The little refti who hangs out with a Watcher named Mara in the lower valley of Tyrhold Reservoir. The primalists killed or injured many refti friends when they first invaded. /way #2025 49.4 58.8
(Ohn'ahran Plains, specifically Maruukai) Two centaur scouts - one from the hunting clan, one from the winds-sage clan, who need family blessings and a kick in the confidence pants. If you haven't done their blessings, the two centaurs are not together; one is near the huntsman who accepts Grand Hunt tokens and the other is in the ohn'ir camp areas musing by the river.
(Waking Shores, waterside in the pillars/wetlands area) Two drakonid researchers. They are investigating a murloc wind vs water problem and a bunch of issues about the local animals. Even-more-side side quests to rescue ducks in bubbles can eventually result in owning a duck, but the elements/murloc issue is sufficient to get them to discuss identity. /way #2022 74.4 42.0 studying a dead gorloc
(Ohn'ahran Plains, specifically Shady Sanctuary's inn) A centaur and a dryad pair who like each other's differences. Chain begins with Scout Santuun, see MrPottrick comment for more complete details.

(Azure Span, Gnolls of Brackenhide) Mon-Ark needs to exert their authoritaaaaaaaahhhhh before they can command who the gnolls eat or don't and that Decay magic is bad and stinky. Includes an amusing slime-riding quest in which you are 80% invincible if you bam the buttons a lot, of which button 3 is a movement stall but you heal to full pretty quickly. /way #2024 12.9 22.0 when thems da boss.

I've gone through in RP mode on an evoker, so I wouldn't have gone these places if Viridia the ever so kindly hadn't asked me to. Finding happy pairings just reminds me that Emberthal and Talon Damos might have stood a chance if these nuts hadn't broken off and followed Sark and Nelth into the depths of destructive madness. That we only gain happiness if we fight for it? That... doesn't seem to be a 100% thing either.

Things that Might Help

Do not plan to do this on a shiny new 70 alt. (thanks Atomicpumpkin.) The dryad/centaur-scout pairing has a PRE-prerequisite quest series. Some of the chains require a bunch of fighting. You might have better luck doing the side chains as an overgeared/enchanted/drank your phials & have your bonuses on a pre-70 alt, and THEN get the Visage chain from the visage shop.

Addon called TomTom if you haven't already got it, its arrow is sometimes nicer than the map-pin pointer, also you can move it around or resize it on your screen. I tuned it to prefer a darker green for the most-correct direction, than the basic green for kinda-correct.

Addon called BTWQuests - you can tell it to load dragonflight quest lines and look for quests by their parts

Is it Worth This Fuss

The active result is your character who does it gets provided a personal tabard, and access to the (admittedly ancient) tabard logo & colorization UI, with an extra spinner for picking borders. (normal guild UI provides only border color, not shape; for shape it depends what level of guild tabard you were wearing, curiously the "middle" one looks cooler with leafy bits).

The tabard UI is some ancient panel name and tiny compared to almost everything nowadays.

The passive result is all your toons on both factions can talk to someone in Org/Smogwind in the Guild Vendor hall and get one too; and that they get their per-character customization.

Many belts clip the tabard's front off at the middle, making this essentially a heavily customizable shirt. Some chest pieces partially clip the tabard, with spectacular results. Once activated, "personal tabard" is in the transmog UI to be picked imagery for any tabard, so you can personalize that one you're wearing in TBC/Wrath timewalking for the rep grind.

While doing the interviews, you will eventually come to Scout Santuun on the bridge. If they are on the bridge (at /way 34.30 53.96), that means you have not completed the short side quests required to interview them. You must check to see if you've completed Hooves of War Hooves of War. If so, you must complete that storyline until "A Storm of Ill Tidings" A Storm of Ill Tidings. Then you can pick up "The Lonely Scout" The Lonely Scout. Once Lonely Scout has been completed, "Dragon Isles Adventuring: Being Yourself" Dragon Isles Adventuring: Being Yourself will update the new spot to meet Scout Santuun.

Additional Notes:

To start Hooves of War, you need to complete some Maruukai campaign quests up till The Nokhud Threat

After you complete them, then you can pick up Hooves of War by talking to Khanam Matra Sarest /way #2023 60.02 37.55 Khanam Matra Sarest (inside building)

Scalecommander Viridia does not offer a quest to me?
I checked if I've done it (but I would remember because it's only there for some weeks)
by using /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(79513))

result: false

I've done almost all quests I could find on Dragon Isles with this char.

So what is missing? Any ideas?

Why do you have to do all the quest chains for the corresponding people when there are 8 to do? I don't entirely bother with little quest chains when I go about or when I did the campaign, and so I have pretty much no progress at all on any character. Some might say "They're just small quest chains it won't take long" and I know that, but it's just an irk when the person who made this quest was like "Aw, we put a bunch of effort into these small quest chains that'll never be seen more than once, if at all. Let's put something that people will really want behind a requirement of having to do ALL of them! On EVERY character! Now they'll HAVE to see them! F*** you, people who just wanna enjoy playing the game without doing every little thing"!

The part that bugs me most is the fact that you can actually ask the NPC about it, but if you haven't done their quests they'll say something along the lines of "I'm too busy right now to answer your question that would only take a minute to answer! Can you help me with my problem that you don't really want to have to get involved with right now? Then I'll be able to answer your single question. Thanks!"

They tried to the FFXIV way of quests where you need to do prerequisites first.

Thankfully the WoW community really loves to do quests and especially to read them, so I'm certain they really appreciate this approach.

Hopefully, I'm not repeating info already posted. I had completed all the Ohn'ahran Plains storylines - had the Sojourner achievement.

I had 2 issues - Narman and Scout Santuun. I didn't have to complete quest lines to get them to update "Being Yourself".

Firstly, Scout Santuun wouldn't talk to me but had a ! over his head for "Lonely Scout" quest. Completed that quest, went back to Scout for turn in and on completion he ran off to "The Mane Squeeze" (/way 38 48) and he updated "Being Yourself" there.

For Narman, I just had to go find Dawa by the pond (/way 62 35). He had a ! quest icon, accepted it, went back to Narman and then headed to their pond (/way 46 60), they exchanged words and then I completed Dawa's quest. To get update for "Being Yourself" you'll find them sitting on river bank (/way 63 38) for "Being Yourself" interaction.

If you're looking to start this quest and don't see it offered, you'll need to pick up Identity Crisis from Chromie in Valdrakken and do that chain first

Blizzard is going back to the place where it seems that they do not really respect the folks playing the game with crap like this quest chain.

I picked up the quest as something to do, I finished the first branch of this sh... err... mess, and had just started down the second branch of this before coming here. And here, I see that I am not the only player who wasted my time to get something that is effectively a vanity item. That is some hubris on the idiot who thought it would be fun for everyone when maybe 8% of the players might be interested in this err... mess. What's next Blizzard, sandpapering our eyeballs?

I have a big issue about the scout, I did every quest it needs to be done for unlocking The Lonely Scout questline, but it doesn't show up, I don't know what to do...

The weird thing is when I check if I've done the Renowal of Voes questline, the command says I didn't do it BUT I know I did it and Methria is not where she supposed to be because I did the questline....

This quest is a huge mistake, if someone can help me could be awesome. Thanks!

I loved checking back on many of the sidequests NPCs.

I hope they do more "sidequest epilogues" like this one in the future.

But next time, don't attach a reward to it, so the crowd that only cares about doing stuff as fast as possible don't feel like they need to do it.

Leave it purely optional for those of us that enjoy the quests, worldbuilding, lore and stuff.

The quest "Keys to the Kingdom" of Gnoll Mon-Ark is bugged. You can pick up the key but it doesn't load the item to open. It seems that the bug is from 11.0 as mentioned in the comments of that quest. You have to wait for it to be fixed. So if you didn't do the "Gnoll King" quests you won't be able to get your tabard.

This is a breeze at level 80. I did minimal side quests in DF. I just went back and had to do all of them. I'd say it took about 60 minutes (less than 90 for sure). Just follow the map indicator and it will take you to each place you need to do quests. There was 2 times that the quest givers disappeared after I completed their side quests, but before I got credit for this quest, eventually it took me to their new location and was able to get credit for this quest at their new location.

For anyone looking to get the personal tabard, there are a couple things to take note of:

1 - You will need to do the from Chromie in the center of Valdrakken first to begin
2 - Will have to do an obscene amount of questing to unlock the tabard

As others have already said, this is plenty annoying. Continue at your own peril.

I don't know why people are upset about the quests. It doesn't take long. You have to do a few per person but it's not extreme they're completed fairly quickly.

Did this today in patch 11.2 on an 80 warrior who has never stepped foot in the Dragon Isles before. This quest took me about 45 minutes to complete including all of the side storylines, not super grindy as some people are making it out to be in other comments.

(Third attempt at posting this, because for some reason, my first two attempts landed in the comment section of another language)

Stuff like this is exactly why when Guild Wars 2 launched, I immediately stopped playing World of Warcraft (still with 26 days on a 30-day sub remaining).
I hate quests by design and this here is a prime example for why.
If, like me, you've never played Dragonflight, it will be over 100 quests and more than an entire day worth of your time (assuming you never take breaks) from the moment you pick up your first quest on Waking Shore to where you're rewarded with the tabard. It is absolutely mandatory that you quest through the entirety of Waking Shore and roughly 90% of Ohn'ahra Plains.
I have to pay in order to actually play the game, so I couldn't be bothered to read any of the quest texts and after doing all of that, I have absolutely no idea what I did and why, but one thing is certain: this experience made me want to join the Burning Legion and just make everything and everyone suffer as much as I had to.

Heed my words: if you want a customizable tabard, go and make a bank guild. That doesn't require completing a triple-digit amount of quests and it even comes with the option to give you extra bank space.

Description

I worry about Emberthal. Her mood has grown increasingly dark. By sticking to citizens of the city, she is looking for ways she is similar to them, instead of what makes her unique. Perhaps a broader sample size is in order? She needs stories to guide her. There are many such individuals with stories to tell in the Dragon Isles. Go, and speak with them. Would that I could go myself, but the duties of a Scalecommander never rest.
