The Searing Sun-crows for this quest spawn far to slowly, or people nuke them far to quickly, causing this quest to currently be a nightmare of trying to get a tag in on a mob before it gets curbstomped.

Respawn timer is way too slow. I've been searching for 5 minutes, and I only have 1/12 Sun-crows.

Edit: Only hitting them once doesn't count for the quest progress; only the finishing hit does. It does not count as a group. Welcome to an MMORPG, playing with others gets you punished.

Can also confirm it doesn't give credit when in a party.. just tried it and only myself got credit for it, also appears as others are saying, it's only the killing blow that will give you credit towards the completion.. really hope they fix this..

Edit: only gives +50 rep upon completion..

The Searing-Sun Crows are just flying around high above the water. You kill them by jumping on Yvelyn (the dragon) and using nr 1 on the vehicle bar

Been on this quest for 15 minutes, lots of other players, so I am at 2/12.
Horrible quest.

Do yourself a favor and skip this quest until Blizzard makes a reasonable spawn rate for the birds.

Why doesn't anyone at Blizzard TEST this stuff?

The coords are definitely needed. The map doesn't zoom far enough out to see the extended quest area. Phebis is on a little rock out cropping across the water from where you pick up the quest. Avius spawns practically on top of the quest giver. Oxis is on a little ledge on the mountain across the sea.

I don't normally leave comments on quests, but this one is so bad, I had to come here.

The named part of the quest is easy and straight forward, find them and kill them. Thought this was going to be a breeze after that. However, I spent 10 minutes just trying to figure out where the crows were. Dead. All of them. Then, spent another 10 minutes getting 2 crow kills and walked away. The spawn rate for the crows is way too low, not scaling to mob kill rates. AND, there isn't a shared tag. You HAVE to get the killing blow. So, with about 20 people flying around sniping kills and stuff... just horrible. Like, one of the worse dailies I have ever experienced. Hope this is a bug and not intended.

Phebis of the Burning Sea 69.22, 82.22 - In between the big south island and a small outcropping of rock on the southwest of the big island.

Oxis of Fire 63.09, 86.76 - High Up on a cliff on the island exactly south of the main island.

Avius Flamebreak 64.07, 75.37 - At the very South Tip of the main island. High on a cliff overlooking the swirl ground area.

Killing the three rares on Yvelyn's back is difficult because the targeting uses the gold arc line with a globe at the end. If you are too close, it goes through them. At a distance, it is too far. As of this week, everyone was just getting off the dragon and killing them from ground level.

If you fly South to the end of the south island, you will find yourself zoned back to the Ancient Bough, so don't fly that way. There is nothing over there. Yvelyn will drop you off regularly if you go too far out of the quest area. She will appear next to you when you enter the zone again on foot, standing in a tree, etc. The guidelines for the quest area on the mini-map are way off.

The NPCs at the bottom of the hill where Avius is located have nothing to do with the quest. They are tedious, but don't bother.

EDIT: As of 12-22-2023 - the Searing Sun Crows spawns have significantly increased, and you should no longer have problems with this part.

~~During the release week, the Searing Sun Crows are few this Friday morning, 11/10/2023. Almost nonexistent. It's like three birds every four minutes.~~ When you see them, they are up high in the air over the water between the south tip of the main island and the smaller southern island. ~~People are writing support tickets, so I anticipate there may be a fix by Tuesday's (11/14/2023) update.~~

Note: There is a Rare Elite in the area - Reefbreak Moruud - Yvelyn's weapon does not work on it. While it was up, Oxis and Phebis were active but would not take damage, even with perfect targeting from Yvelyn. The damage area for Reefbreaker is vast, and healing is needed. Alot of players were trying. Many of us were running back from the graveyard by the end of the fight.

You need to dismount Yvelin to get a kill credit for the seperate three mobs.
I tried to kill them while mounted on Yvelin and got no credit.
Turn out you only need her to be able to kill the birds.

Also saw many comments of bird spawn issue - didn't have that issue...
(maybe because I'm on warmode shard? or maybe they fixed it?)

For those unique single credit mob you will need to dismount to kill them without the help of the dragon

If you couldn't find any of the unique name mob, simply finish off the 12 birds and the world quest marker on your map will indicate where they are.

1. You can kill the named NPCs normally. They have about 1.3m health each, and the friendly NPC with you will tank them.
2. Click the Yvelyn's Assistance in your bags to mount up on a dragon vehicle to get Searing-Sun Crow. Fly up close to them in the sky (around /way 60.6, 82.8) and spam button 1 at them; about 3 casts will kill each. If you're not up close, there's a travel time for your missile and can waste time missing.

Talk to Yvelyn to take out the 12 crows.

Kill the three bosses manually. Copy-paste for PASTE / TomTom:
