The recipe can be purchased from the smokeywood pastures vendor just beside Greatfather Winter, as can the holiday spices. As for the small egg's I found a good drop rate (~90%) to be off the greater vultures in westfall. Quite a few of them roam east of sentinel hill. The milk can also be obtained from the innkeeper in westfall, and any other low level innkeeper.

Another good place for small egg farming is Southern Redridge mountains where you will find about 10 of them flapping around ;) happy hunting!

As for any horde looking to gather eggs, they can be found, with a rather high drop rate, off any dragonhawks in eversong woods.

Also might I suggest checking your mail after handing in this quest as greatfather winter also sends you a nice package.

The milk can be bought from low lvl food and drink vendors.
I bought the cookies @ AH for 1g'a piece (5g for five)

Let's get this straight:

Eggs drop from low level (10-20) bird mobs. Pretty high percentage on most mobs.
Holiday Spices are sold by the vendor next to Greatfather Winter. Cost a few copper.
Recipe is sold by the same vendor.
Milk is for sale by every innkeeper. Costs just over a silver for 5.

The innkeeper is about twice as far away from Greatfather Winter as the AH. I honestly enjoy all the people pouring money in my bags because they buy my milk off the AH for 1G per glass. But please, you read Wowhead, you're supposed to be informed! Just buy the milk from the innkeeper!

2010 Confirmed ~ Quest Is Super Easy...
1) Buy Recipe at the Vendor Near Quest Giver for the Cookies
a) Buy Holiday spices from the same vendor x5 for 10 copper
He does not have a loot bag when you cursor over him, you have to talk to him and ask to browse his wares. He is the goblin under the red tent named "Wulmort Jinglepocket".
b) Farm Small Eggs in WestFall x5 from the Condors
c) Cook
2) Go to the inn and buy milk x5
3) Turn in

As of Cataclysm they moved the Smokeywood Pastures Vendor to a cart near the AH in Org... not sure for Alliance... She sells as well as + some other goodies... Eggs you have to farm (or buy) and Milk from the Innkeeper

i made this video to help some people out on where to farm ur eggs fast this is for alli side not horde. but u just look for the half eaten whale for farming eggs with an instant respawn make some gold or just ur 5 for event.

When you complete the quest, he says, "Here's a little something... you know, for the effort."

This may not be the original source of that saying, but in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, there's a quest in the area called "Zephyr" by a ... thing? called Little Bo Peep who's lost his cowleks. When you finish the 2nd part of the quest, the guy says to you: "Thanks, Spyro. Here's a little something, you know, for the effort."

It's likely it's been said before and Spyro was just making a reference to it too. But this is what I thought of when I read that line by Greatfather Winter. =)

You guys at wowhead really need to update your site, most of the quests here don't help you out it just shows you where the quest starts and ends nothing else why?
You totally forgot the middle part like where to go to get what you need to get to get to the goal of the quest and among other things too.
Just that would get alot more people to come to this site i know of alot of my buddies that agree just trying to help ;)

Two easy ways to get this one done really quick:

Easy A:
1. Go to the Auction House on the other side (26, 75), buy 5 Gingerbread Cookie and 1 Ice Cold Milk
2. Go back to Greatfather Winter, turn in the quest and collect rewards.

Easy B (if you wanna cook for a few seconds):
1. Buy the Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie and Holiday Spices from Wulmort Jinglepocket (around 33, 69)
2. Go to the Auction House right on the other side (26, 75) and buy 5 Small Egg (well they are overpriced during the Winter Veil event for a reason, but this will save you a loooooooot of time)
3. Go to Innkeeper Firebrew (from the AH, go rightside and you will find him on 18.6, 51.6) then buy Ice Cold Milk
4. Cook 5 Gingerbread Cookie
5. Go back to Greatfather Winter, turn in the quest and collect rewards.

The fastest way to obtain the items for this quest are as follows:

You can kill the Loch Buzzard in Loch Modan for Small Egg(x5)

You can buy the Holiday Spices(x5) from Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge

You can buy the Ice Cold Milk from Innkeeper Firebrew in Ironforge

Once you have the above items you can cook the Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie which is sold by Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge for 25c

Loch Modan below Farstrider Lodge. The golden eagles (Golden Eagle/golden-eagle) in that area respawn decently, but you need to fly to get to them as they are on top of the small hills. They do fly around so you might be able to shoot them down. No one else was there.

I have the ingredients, but can't figure out the recipe! I bought it at the Auction House (I thought), but can't find it in my bags. Where does it go and how do I "learn" it so I can make the cookies?

For Horde, I was able to just fly around the Barrens and kill the vultures with a good amount of success. It might be a little slower, but I'm not paying 50g for a freakin' small egg on the auction house.

Other mobs in the Barrens also drop Ice Cold Milk, so if you want to try your luck I had one drop off a harpy.
