How to do A Rare and Unusual Spirit:

Speak with Cultivator Littleflower to accept the quest
Queue Mists of Tirna Scithe and defeat the last boss Tred'ova (I do it on heroic mode, but probably work on normal mode)
Back to the Queen's Conservatory and return the quest. You will receive Shifting Spirit of Knowledge
Use Shifting Spirit of Knowledge on Wildseed of Regrowth
Wait 7 days for Incubation Complete (Use Temporal Leaves on Anima Catalyst Plot to speed up the Wildseed of Regrowth process).
Loot Wildseed of Regrowth (will appear a NPC Falir the Shifting)
Follow Falir the Shifting and accept the part 2 of this quest A Rare and Unusual Spirit
Select the dialogs until he send you to sample an Essences.
Sample the 4 Essences in Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald & Revendreth
Return the quest inside the Queen's Conservatory

/way 65,6, 33,1 Essence of Ardenweald
/way 50,3, 68,8 Essence of Revendreth
/way 47,8, 78,2 Essence of Bastion
/way 63,4, 55,1 Essence of Maldraxxus

After complete A Rare and Unusual Spirit & A Rare and Unusual Spirit, Falir the Shifting will offer the quest A Spirit's Heart.
A Spirit's Heart is part of the Spiritual Observations.

Apparently cannot be completed on m+ even though it does not involve looting/items.

Quest! does not show up as a Dungeon quest in questlog, or are marked as one!
Can't be completed on Mythic Dungeon difficulty!

Does anyone know what dungeon difficulty is required for completion of this quest? I just did Mists on +8 but it did not complete the quest, so I queued for a Normal and that did not work either. The only difficulties left to try are Mythic 0 and Heroic. I'll try them and update if either work or if the quest is currently bugged.

*Update* Completed on Heroic and Mythic 0, the quest did not complete. Quest seems to be bugged at the moment as of 1/7/2021.

******UPDATE****** If you have defeated the boss but the quest is NOT showing as complete, go to the Queen's Conservatory and attempt to turn the quest in. The "?" above the quest mob will be GREY as if not completed, but I was STILL able to turn in the quest. Thank you Cyniq for bring this to my attention!

After reading this quest and not getting information from the quest giver, I looked here. The idea of going into another 4 instances when I'd already completed the Emissary this week is 4x mythics was enough to think "I'll just do this later". However, when in Adrenweld (no I don't have the co-ords but it was near Tirna Vaal) the quest was marked on my minimap and when I went there, the quest item was easy to see and could be looted.

I then went to the other regions and found all the items I needed, all near flight paths

Bastion - Aspirants Rest
Maldraxxus - Renounced Bastille
Revendreth - Wanecrypt Hill

I'll post a screenshot of the last one I got too.

Unless I am writing about a completely different quest, these quest items can be found within the regions.

The comments on here are extremely confusing.

This quest is also extremely confusing on Wowhead because as the Quest changes the Quest name stays the same. So you'll find several quests on here called A Rare and Unusual Spirit.

The first Quest has you go to a dungeon (hence all the dungeon comments). That's this one: A Rare and Unusual Spirit

The next one in the progression has you go to all the zones to find an "essence" for each. That's this one: A Rare and Unusual Spirit

Clicking the essence in Bastion didn't update the quest? Anyone else seen it bugged?

The location for Ardenweald essence is WAY off. Its just north of Tirna Vaal - about 64, 35

Stalled out at "speak with Falir" -- abandoned it to try to restart and now am off the chain. Anyone have any ideas how to get back on it?

Oh for the love of God just open your map and you can easily loot the essences from each zone WITHOUT having to queue for dungeons. Why some of you automatically resorted to dungeons is beyond me especially when PUGs can be painstaking.

For the quest.. the first time we have it... it says go to Tirna Scythe and kill the last boss

does not tell you whether or not you can just queue up for it and do it on regular mode

... WHICH BY THE WAY YOU CAN and if you are all reasonably geared it quite straight forward....

or if you have to do it at one of the elitist levels.. which you don't

and trying to look it all up on Wowhead is near impossible
and for some reason
most people who post on here do not want to tell you the obvious stuff
they mostly want to babble on unnecessarily about other crap rather than tell you what you need to know

If you don't understand me then you are probably one of the very elitist types I'm on about

IF YOU DO UNDERSTAND ME then try to leave useful information in your posts... like the kind you might want for yourself one day

I can confirm this quest is able to be completed on Normal mode in 9.2.

after reading all these comments, I still am unsure what is the best path. Am not going to go stumbling around for hours. So not worth it. Time to open another beer and move on.

Description
