Don't pull too many mobs and die up there, because I do not think there is a path to get up there besides flying.
After 5 minutes I gave up and spirit resurrected. Thanks Blizzard -.-

This is a reference to a very popular fairy tale in Eastern Europe. The main villain (Koschei-necromancer) can be killed only after breaking the needle. And the needle stored in the egg.

Important: If you stumble across other players already fighting him, MAKE SURE YOU STILL RETRIEVE THE PHYLACTERY AND DESTROY IT! If you kill him without first breaking open the egg, then destroying the phylactery in your inventory, you will NOT receive credit.

In combat Ain'gore will cast Lich's Phylactery which makes him unkillable. The buff doesn't show any timer. I tried using the phylactery on him again but it did nothing. Eventually he just dies. Is this intended?

So. We're just stranded up here after finishing this quest? Doesn't seem to be a way down that doesn't involve falling off the mountain into mobs. Typical Blizzard.

As for a way to return to your body, I only found one that required me being alive (after spirit ressing i was a little upset so I thought I should go walk up there so it isn't a complete defeat.) There are Mushrooms and behind that are mountains and where you want to be is the Bony Spindles. You will see as a ghost you can get pretty high, just about high enough too. I used Door of Shadows to get by the top part that for some inconvenient reason blizzard put a invisible wall over. There are potions/potion that you can use as a ghost like a speed one. Probably other ways that any one of you may have to get around the point to the side with WQ. Maybe there are more caves? Maybe another area around the Bony Spindles that you can jump on. Anyways, Hope this helps. Gl

Remember when World Quests were very clear on the scope of the task before you got anywhere near it? That that's what made them different from regular quests and quest chains? I remember that. Would be nice too if it counted killing the mob you're sent there to kill even if you weren't the one to summon him. That's another relic from the past I remember.

I couldn't figure out how to walk to the quest objective.

After half an hour of walking around it in circles and almost but never quite getting to it due to "hard air" (barriers like hills and unnecessary walls placed there obviously only to keep me from getting to the quest objective) I gave up and moved on to another quest.

If you're a Necrolord having Unity out and concerned that this WQ might not have a chance at a Duty-Bound piece because Unity doesn't spawn after riding Grimshadow, try logging out and back in.
However, it should be enough if this command returns "true":

Unlike many other world quests that let you skip using the quest flying mounts once flight is obtained, you must ride Grimshadow or the quest does not progress properly.

If you destroyed the clicky egg first like I did, just use the item to get credit for destroying the phylactery.
