The book can be found in the Terrordale inn, which is the largest building in the town. Walk upstairs and turn right. The book lies in the back of the room.

After doing the quest you have access to the npc as a vendor; though he only sells food, you can offload the junk you have

am i the only person that has difficulty with the pulls in this quest.

Died twice *edit* 3 times. The second time was because i rezzed and an npc didn't appear on my screen in the room -_-

I can't open it at Level 56. No quest mark or anything on the book.

EDIT: Go to Egan, an Undead at his side will give you the quest to get this book as of patch 2.4.0.

I encountered one of those big white golems in the book room. When i killed him it took me quite a long while to find the book cuz he covers most of the floor. If this happens to you, just keep quartering the room till you find the sparkles. They may be mostly hidden.

Still works for Patch 5.0.5, I just finished the quest myself. Weird, I wonder if the information here is wrong or if it has to do with something we've done in previous patches and some players are able to get and complete this quest and others are not.

Second floor of inn. You have to go up stairs and turn right, it is almost behind you and then go through to second room. There are 3 rooms at top of stairs. If you just run up you only see 2 doors.

It Inn / building is the exact lay-out as the Inn at Goldshire. Front door cords of this Inn are: 14.33 / 28.19 Once yer in there,wind yer way up the stairs and into the back rooms til U see the glitter of the book. The toughest part is getting the right building! There are THREE. They are ALL "large". It's all very dark; the glitter stands out easily.
