For druids, if you want to get there quickly, use your dreamwalk and go to the Hinterlands, and you'll be about a minute or so away.

Pet lovers can use Manapoof located in Dalaran/Boralus/Dazar'Alor to teleport to Stratholme.

When Nathanos spawns or is aggro'ed, he gives the following speech:
<In a very dry, drawling voice>
Well, well, well. If it isn't Azeroth's mightiest "champions". Congratulations! You've managed to track me to the most unlikely of places... my very own home. Seeking retribution for all the bad, bad things I've done, I suppose? How frightfully predictable. I've been waiting a long time for this. Let's get on with it, shall we?

Dialogue / one-liners during the fight:
Alliance... Horde... Pathetic, the lot of you!
Back into the fray with you!
Even that decrepit Saurfang put up a better fight than this!
Hahahahaha! Yes! Such delicious hatred!
I've never been much for sentiment, but this takes me back to the old days!
My hounds will make a meal of your pitiful flesh!
Refreshing, isn't it? Facing one another at long last!

At the end of the fight:

A cinematic starts when Nathanos gets low on health (10-20%). In this, Nathanos is ambushed by Tyrande. When caught with her blade to his throat, he continues to taunt her while she asks him where Sylvanas is, though not by name. He dares her to kill him as it will just send him to his lady, he claims. After a few more moments, Tyrande finally pulls her blade across his throat. We hear Nathanos' body fall to the ground, but do not see it happen. Tyrande then walks away from the scene, whispering "For Teldrassil."

Lor'themar Theron: In life, Nathanos Marris was a braggart and a bully. In death, his worst traits were only magnified. At long last, the Blightcaller has met the justice he deserved. I only regret I was not there to see it done. I cannot begrudge Tyrande Whisperwind for claiming the killing blow. I only hope the Night Warrior's rage remains fixed upon Sylvanas.
Calia Menethil: I do not wish to speak out of turn, Regent Lord, but I have given counsel to the kaldorei who were raised into undeath after the battle for Darkshore. I believe I have helped them find a path forward. Perhaps if I spoke of them to the High Priestess, it might help ease her spirit, if only a little.
Lor'themar Theron: Lilian Voss has told us of your efforts, Lady Menethil. Let us hope fate offers us a chance to see your kind offer bear fruit.

Dialogue for Alliance:

Genn Greymane: I have faced the Blightcaller before. A pity I wasn't there to help end him. At long last, one of the architects of the Fourth War has been brought to justice. I envy Tyrande for landing the killing blow. Though I fear it did little to bring her peace. The power within her seems to be growing stronger. More... insistent. Our hunt for Sylvanas continues. We must find where she's taken Anduin, Jaina, and the others. Do not relent, champion. Bring them home.

Drops a sweet level 115 purple weapon @ level 50. For alts in particular that item level will be more than double the best zone questing or normal dungeon reward.

Completable in the first and second week for a total of two rewards. An important consideration for player's of multiple specs who wish to optimise gearing.

The daily rewards in Icecrown will be of a lower level at 100 (using tokens). This quest is by far the only guaranteed drop of the event, the easiest reward, and the highest item level reward.

Turn off War Mode. It's a PvP mess at Marris Stead
The nearest Inn is Andorhal in Western Plaguelands. Light's Hope Chapel is a longer flight
You might have a Pet Battle portal to Stratholme available
Think about your hearth, the need to turn this in, and then get to the Argent Tournament
The Argent Tournament is to the far north of Icecrown, accessible via a SW/Org portal to Dalaran
Don't skip the cut scene when Nathanos is about to die. It's one of Blizzard's best
Ignore reports of cut scene and missing loot problems. All fixed now
Nathanos will probably kill you. Provided you landed a blow, there's absolutely no panic to run back
Paladins: Your portal to Light's Hope from your Legion Class Hall might be the go
Death Knights: Use your Death Gate to go to the Ebon Hold!

Weapon reward you ask? They are faction and spec specific. These are what I received across my characters:

So these are "Catch Up" rewards. Not at the very top end as that would upset that tiny but vocal and significant minority of dedicated raiders who worked really hard for their weapons. And rather generic too. Inoffensive, but useful!

Careful, the reward as determined by Blizzard from the loot table, might be puzzling. My Windwalker Monk received a Sentinel's Halberd but in the second week a much more appropriate Sentinel's Warhammer.

My Fury warrior received a Deathguard's Blade which was very disappointing and was promptly vendored. I ran as Arms in the second week to force a Deathguard's Greatsword to pop.

My Blood (also Frost) DK received the Sentinel's Blade, my Enhancement (also heals) Shaman received Deathstalker's Headcracker. But my Demon Hunter received Deathstalker's Warglaive. So a mixed bag to be sure.

Thus... the TL;DR: this quest offers the best way to "Catch Up" with a new weapon and be more than ready for Shadowlands.

Is this q available only to horde or I did something wrong (currently on A Message From Icecrown as Human DK)?

Edit: I'm dumb. A mass of ppl blocked the npc with q for me, so I didnt saw it and hat to kill Nathanos twice :/

When I completed the quest on Alliance the cinematic did not appear. I just watched it here afterwards. Kinda odd though.

Paladins who've done their class order hall in Legion, don't forget you can get to Light's Hope Chapel through the Legion Dalaran portal.

Did the quest, thanks to a group on 11/14/20. After the cut scene, go back to Orig. See Lor'themar. Any Distro Warlocks, you already know this, keep some distance or you'll die pretty quickly when Nathan does damage...if that makes sense. It's fun to tank, but not for this one. ;-) I used Concentrated flame, Bane of Havoc, Shadowfury, and the usual Conflag, Incin, Immolate...

What is this with Elem Shaman, I can't seem to get anything but shields all week. Got two before killing him and then he dropped another one for me . I need a main hand weapon, please.

The reward drop for this is terrible. My mage got a 1 handed sword.(needed 2 hand weapon) My dual wielding warrior needed a 2 handed weapon also got a 1 handed sword. My dual wielding windwalker monk needed 1 handed weapon got a 2 handed weapon. The only character that received a useable Lvl 115 weapon was my Pally which received a correct 2 handed weapon. WTF Blizz?

As a Hunter, I received a Deadshot Handcannon when I went in as Beast Master carrying a gun, and a Sentinel's Recurve when I went in as a Marksman and then as a Beast Master carrying a bow. So it seems it's what you carry rather than your spec that matters. Of course it was only three tries. The two weapons are equally powerful, so it's all in the aesthetics.

And for the record, I've had no trouble setting my Loot Specialization before the spectacle begins. If you treat it as the boss encounter it is, and focus on staying alive first and delivering as much damage as you can second, it will all work out: try again until you succeed.

How do I get this quest on an Alliance alt (lvl 54)? I did all the Fourth War quests on my Horde main, got the Veteran title.... but on my Alliance alt in Stormwind, the Light's Hope Messenger doesn't show up at /way #84 65.6 76.8 Light's Hope Messenger. Please advise ! TIA !

Description

I was on patrol like I'd done a hundred times before only there he was sitting on the front porch of that old house with those terrible dogs and I swear he smirked at me and stared with those fiery red eyes and-- <The young courier wipes his brow.> He's at the Marris Stead. Our forces have him surrounded, but, uh... You should probably gather your friends. I don't think he plans to surrender.
