To complete the quest you need to craft Herald's Footpads via Ascension Crafting menu.
Herald's Footpads recipe required two different materials: 4x Elysian Feathers and 2x Champion's Pelt.
Elysian Feathers drop by any flying creatures and Champion's Pelt drop by beasts (it's a rare drop).
Best choice to farm from are Larion Sires, there are few can be found around 43.0 56.6 coordinates.

I spent 60 seconds in Ardenweld, 65,28 and got 4 Champion's Pelt from killing Starving Shadowstalker's. West of Heartwood Grove.

I recommend going to where Ariella spawns, north west of Hero's Rest!

I farmed 16 Elysian Feathers and 2 Champions Pelt in under 30 minutes from farming Swiftwing Larions at this location.

Very good drop rate for Elysian Feathers on Restless Etherwyrm in Bastion (46, 18).

Got my 4 in less than 10 kills.

If you dont want to farm anymore (like myself) innkeeper Caretaker Caryn (left of the equipment crafting area) sells Supplies for the Path for 5 Medallions of Service which contains a lot of every material you need for the crafting.

The first one I opened contained:
Elysian Feathersх19

Nightforged Steelх19
Calloused Boneх19

The second one I opened contained :
Elysian Feathersх20
Champion's Peltх21

Quest Name: Start and description

1 The Path of Ascension Storyline start from Haephus 42 53.
2 Humble Gatherer "You need to Find:
- 2 Depleted Goliath Core Drop from Forsworn Punisher or Dark Goliath
- 6 Tampered Anima Charger Drop from mechanical enemies in Bastion
- 5 Soul Mirror Shard Drop from humanoid Forsworn enemies
As well to get this materials You can go to Dungeon Spires of Ascension."
3 Your Friend, Dactylis "Go to Dactylis 29 39 and from the collected materials from previous quest craft:
- 2 Overcharged Goliath Core
- 1 Soul Mirror."
4 A Suitable Opponent Go to 53 88 and activatre 2 Depleted Goliath then speak with Kalisthene then go back to quest giver.
5 Into the Coliseum "Go to coloseum. To get there speak with Artemede.
Inside do by Steps:
- Pick Pelagos
- Pick enemy from Soul Mirror ( is on left behind )
- Start Fight using Bell
You dont need to win this fight but is good to train skills due to that next time you will need to win.
Skills:
Test of Faith - 3 sec duration attack ( can get 20 energy ) You can't move when using.
Aspirant's Bindings - Root enemy + aoe dmg ( can get 10 energy ) You can cast when moving.
Confront Memories - Drop 3 memories: Swift Recollection, Prescient Recollection and Armored Recollection You can pick up only 1 all giving deferent abilit ( You will get 20 energy )
Unleash - You can use it when you have 100 energy. Is best skill with large dmg Use it all the time when energy ready.
SKill 5 - Use it when you have chain on you to run out.
Stay on from of you enemy then you will do basic attack giving you 1 energy."

7 Sourcing Your Own Materials "Craft Herald's Footpads For that You need:
4 Elysian Feathers - Drop from Flying mobs best spot for me was 46 37 slay Swiftwing Larion.
2 Champion's Pelt - Drop from Juvenile Runedeer go to Ardenweald 59 37."
8 Overcoming the Trial "Defeat Kalisthene in Path of Ascension. Same way to get inside, inside do:
- Pick Pelagos
- Pick enemy from Soul Mirror ( is on left behind )
- Pick up Herald's Footpads from Paolone ( is on left )
- Start Fight using Bell
This Time You need to win :D."
9 Blueprint: Deep Echo Trident From Chest in Path of Ascension when you victory You will pick up Blueprint: Deep Echo Trident. Return to Dactylis

For what it's worth, I'm stuck not getting these currently.

I'm unsure what happened to them, but I crafted them and now they're gone. I also cannot recraft them as they're missing from the crafting menu. I tried both soul binds, still only have 1 lure and 1 charm.

I cannot complete the trial quest, as I need to break the chains. The item is also not available by the equipment outfitter in the instance. :/

If you're a skinner I would highly recommend the Etherwyrms that are just to the north of Hero's Rest for at least the feathers. There are plenty of mobs there and if it's busy they respawn very quickly. You will walk away with a pretty good haul of skinning materials as well as the feathers you need in about 10 minutes time (or less).

Hey Doing That 31/08/2021 very easy to do u can drop all items in 5min farm just farm this mob Swiftwing Larion . it's drop both items for the quest .

Description

I can aid you in crafting many pieces of equipment for your soulbinds. Though they may only equip one at a time, each piece grants a new ability that they may not have without it. This time you must source your own materials from around the Shadowlands. When you have collected them, return to me and we can create the footpads!
