Fill your vial at 54,33. Make sure you are up top of the waterfall at the mouth of the cave, not down in the river.

be careful here. after you loot the water sample, 2 lvl 15 nagas will spawn so be ready. Waverider and Toxicologist.

Go to "flaight master" in moonglade and talk with him. (81.12)
Fly to "rut´theran village". Fly to darkshore and run to "cliffspring falls". (54.33) in darkshore. "cliffspring falls" is north of darkshore. go on the left soide of "cliffspring falls" and go up. after u have fill come 2 level 15!!

Note this quest must be done in Darkshore, not Moonglade.

Ok, something wrong here. There are 2 steps called "The Principal Source" the first one is a vial that is filled at 50, 25 which is the base of a smaller waterfall down stream. It' right about where the bridge crosses the river.

54, 33 seems to be correct for the 2nd "the Principal Source"

No. 50,25 is the filling spot for a different quest called "The Cliffspring River". This quest however clearly says cliff entrance, which is located at 54,33.

I didn't do this part of the quest until I was 55. Each step I completed gave me 6100 Exp and 300 Cenarion Circle rep. The very last step gave 8150 Exp and 500 CC rep. I was wondering why it was still yellow in my quest log. Just thought others might find this useful.

If you have both the quests to get the water sample from the lake, make sure you press the correct sampler at the correct place.

I just wasted 20mins pressing Empty Sampling Tube http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12350 at 54,33 thinking the quest is bugged.

Doing class quests that in the end reward a class ability or spell will result in exp gain that suits your current level while doing them.

Doing this as level 14 is not the same as doing this as higher levels, the quest level will always be your own level so the exp rewarded will be high, on 70 you will get around 12500 exp since thats the normal rate for level 70 quests. If you dont feel like doing the quest on your level, feel free to skip it (like me) but complete it later on for a little exp boost!

For this quest chain: on level 32 I got 2000 exp per quest and for the final quest I got 2700. (Reputation gained seems to remain the same since 2.3)

Thank you JoVix for the distinction between flask and tube. I too was trying to fill the flask instead of the tube. I was at may whits end and was about to give up and then I scrolled down and saw your comment.

I did this quest at level 79 and my reward was 16,350xp

There is no place at 54,33 to fill a flask. Quest Helper puts the Cliffspring Falls within the Fel Territory accessible through a tunnel where a NPC promptly kills you at level 14. Whoever does the quests for druids really doesn't know shinola about quest instructions.

My earlier criticism and comments would have been correct had the quest occurred at the place of origin rather occur in Darkshore. A further comment about every issue I find distasteful will follow soon but be advised the quest occurs in Darkshore NO WHERE ELSE.

To help make things a little more confusing, the WoW quest tracker puts the fill location around 51,26 which is actually the fill spot for the Cliffspring River quest. :)

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

Use the Empty Cliffspring Falls Sampler to draw a sample of water from the mouth of the cave by the falls.

Deliver the Filled Cliffspring Falls Sampler to Alanndarian Nightsong in Auberdine, Darkshore.

Description

The Cliffspring Falls in Darkshore serves as the principal source of drinking water for the region, and now I suspect it is the principal source of the poison that is harming the local fauna - deer specifically. Use this sampler to draw some water from the mouth of the cave; be careful, as dangerous naga now reside in a cave by the falls.

Once filled, deliver it to Alanndarian Nightsong in Auberdine. She is the one that requested our aid, and you will work with her to address this malady.
