There is a portculis right next to the quest giver that will highlight when you mouse over. You need to open it and go through there

Be weary, he will wake the Stonebound Guardians around the top of the wall, and they will murder you. (I managed to survive just barely. lol)

Click on the gate to the right of the quest-giver to find Matyas. I killed each gargoyle as Matyas summons them. They died fairly easy so I didn't have health issues during the fight.

So after running back and forth trying to find the portcullis to open, its after you climb up the vine ladder and go right, past a single target and near Nadjia the mistblade. Once inside you can just blitz the things inside to complete the quest. 60.14 78.50

The Entrance to the vines is @ 60.70 ,79.07..... When you fight the dude he will activate one gargoyle at a time . Hang back from the main fight and take on the Gargoyle. then go back to the fight . The Fearstalker will help you. Then take on the next Gargoyle and so on till the dude is dead.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 A Curious Invitation	Quest start from Dimwiddle 60 62 Revendreth. Go to speak with Courier Araak 59 66.
2 The Lay of the Land	First press on Nadjia the Mistblade 59 68 then go to pick up Ruminations on True Names 58 69 in bulding.
3 Finders-Keepers, Sinners-Weepers	"Speak with Nadjia the Mistblade 59 68 for quest. Go to speak with: - Dobwobble 60 69 - Cobwobble 60 68 - Slobwobble 61 67 Then pick up 3 sinstone: - Worn Sinstone 60 67 - Cracked Sinstone 60 69 - Chipped Sinstone 60 72"
4 Active Ingredients	Pick up 60 Scythe Bloom Pollen from Scythe Bloom and get 1 Pristine Venom Gland drop from spiders ( low rate )
5 A Fine Vintage	Get Witherfall Special Reserve drop from Mucksquint He is inside bulding in basement 63 73.
6 Message for Matyas	First speak with Courier Araak He is on chair 60 69 then press on bottle. Taskmaster Matyas will show up.
7 Comfortably Numb	When Taskmaster Matyas will sit press on cup He will get poisoned then press on Hi body to pick up Nadjia's Sinstone.
8 The Field of Honor	Slay 12 Matyas's followers.
9 Offer of Freedom	Get mob to 30% of Hp then offer them Sinstone Fragment You need to do this to 3 mobs. Quest return to Nadjia the Mistblade is in tower 60 79 press on Vine Ladder to get up.
10 It's a Trap	Open the gate and get on wall slay Taskmaster Matyas that will finish storyline.

Did this with my shadow priest first go. Started the fight and Nadija comes running in - let her tank, she'll do it til the cows come home no problem - concentrate on killing the gargoyles that Matyas activates, dodge the red pools and when you get a free moment, DOT him and smack him, whatever suits.

If you doing this with strong levelling class like mage, or others who has zero defending or healing abilites, but to counter it also bad damage since it was designed max level with best stats, fut put sharp objects away, for personal safety.

The NPC interactions associated with this quest:

Taskmaster Matyas says: Maw Walker, you have made an unfortunate choice in befriending Nadjia and betraying me. The consequences are on your head.

Nadjia the Mistblade says: At long last! My time caged gave me rather a lot of time to plan this duel.

Taskmaster Matyas says: You are ever the fool, Nadjia. My guards will make short work of you.

As Matyas begins to activate Stonebound Guardians, Nadjia calls the player in to assist in the duel.

Nadjia the Mistblade says: If you will not fight fairly, then neither shall I. Maw Walker, to my side!

Taskmaster Matyas says: Where are my faithful servants? Kill them!
Taskmaster Matyas says: Guards! To me!
Taskmaster Matyas says: Rid me of these annoyances.

Despite calling in multiple guards to back him, Matyas finally falls to Nadjia.

Taskmaster Matyas says: No! Wait ...

Nadjia the Mistblade says: Even to the end he was honorless. Come, friend, we must go.

The player follows Nadjia back through the rampart portcullis.

Nadjia the Mistblade says: My friend, thank you for ridding me of Matyas. I must leave now. If you would like a way down from here, follow me.

Nadjia leads the player to a Hulking Stoneborn and activates it.

Nadjia the Mistblade says: This stoneborn will take you to safety if you wish. I look forward to our next meeting. Till then, try not to get killed.

The Hulking Stoneborn will take the player to a crossroads in the Feeders' Thicket, just south of Darkhaven (61.8, 69.4).

53 rogue avg gear about a minute to death. not running back. maybe later.

Lay off completing this last bit until you hit 60! The quest rewards scale with your level, and are much better at level 60.

i tried as a L59 rogue, didn't die but while down the wall away from the fight healing, it reset. The fearstalker/Nadjia does zero damage. It's a trap alright. Oh, suckers! come one, come all....

Approach Matyas to start the duel. Assist Nadjia when Matyas cheats.

Description

At last, I will have my vengeance! I am certain Matyas will flee again if he sees me first so you will need to confront him on my behalf, friend. Then, while he's distracted, I will engage him. At that point, your obligation as my second is a formality. You must assure Matyas does not dishonor the duel and cheat. When he inevitably does, I expect you'll help me defeat him. He's just through the portcullis there.
