grab a Ripened Laborer around all Dredgewood /way 73,02, 73,48
with Ripened Laborer use your Extra Button Throw Dredger on Infested Horror Sap
defend Ripened Laborer from mob waves until he chop the tree
do it 3 times to complete the quest

Ripened Laborer dies pretty quick especially when those spiders keep channeling at him. You can always target and heal him though.
You can re-pick the same laborer once he's done with his work, or if he's not close enough to its tree at the dropped location.
You can't pick him up while mounted.
You can't use 2 laborers to speed up Choppin' process. Once you pick another laborer, the previous one vanishes.

This quest is bugged for me. I can interact with Ripened Laborers, but nothing happens... their nametag turns from green to purplish and.... nothing else.
Tried relogging, rezoning, exiting WoW and logging on different toon - no result.

An absolutely excruciating quest. The trees have close to 12k health, while the laborers hit it for ~150 each attack.

you can't pick up the laborer if you're in druid form FYI

also unless you want to waste time healing the laborer then just pick up a new one everytime you finish one tree, the laborer is paper thin and won't last if anything so much as sneezes on it

Totally bugged. No addons, relogged, reloaded, restarted the game entirely, etc.. still don't get the special ability. Even tried dismissing pets.

It might help someone else too: after trying to interact with the world quest with no luck, I had much better luck at being able to access the extra action bar ability after picking up the little guys once I completed the "Dirty Jobs" optional storyline that goes towards the "Sojourner of Revendreth" achievement. There could possibly be some interference between the world quest and the optional storyline?

I had the same problems a lot of these people are getting, and all I had to do was keep on clicking different dredgers and some worked, and some didn't. The ones that worked I had to click on twice.

I grabbed the Ripened Laborer and came to wowhead to read what to do with the quest. 3 minutes later I went back to the game and the quest was completed, so I have no idea what I was supposed to do! :P

This quest sucks solo. The dredgers have no health, do 150 damage, and the trees have 12k health. The adds will overwhelm if you look away too long.

That said, if you show up and there's people there, it's easy enough. Throw your dredger at a tree that someone else is destroying, and help them clear the mobs. With 3 or 4 people, the quest took less than 5 minutes.

30 minutes and still no Infested Horror Saps. I was the only player in the area too. I bailed cuz there are too many other quests to get done.

This daily quest is bugged.

For anyone still having issues on this quest, I found it bugged too.

When you select your first dredger, the quest checkpoint is marked done, but you may not have the dredger as a companion/follower, and no special ability icon.

If you right-click the same dredger repeatedly, or click a bunch of dredgers, eventually one will follow you to go down a tree. That dredger disappears after you down the tree, so you have to go click crazy on dredgers again until you get one to follow you and the ability appears.

Wash, rinse, repeat 3 times.

This quest is pretty trash and hard to defend its awful design.

Basically you need to pick up a Dredger and use the extra action button to toss them at a tree. Then you need to defend them while they harvest it. They will spawn 3 waves of random enemies fairly quickly before the horror sap is destroyed. So be carefully if you haven't cleared the area before tossing your dredger as you might be overwhelmed. You need to repeat this 3 times for the credit. Also you cannot share the credit with other players not in your party, and if they decide to toss the their dredger on a tree you are already waiting on it will likely wipe you as you have to deal with double spawns

Has this quest been quietly dropped? If so, I imagine it would be due to an unresolvable design problem. I have not seen it or its sister quest Dirty Job: Demolition Detail in seventeen days since I became eligible to do world quests. By way of contrast, Parasol Peril has come up at least six times since then, since I have six credits towards the achievement.

I was, oddly enough, wanting to try it, having been completely unable to complete it while playing on an EU server from Australia with 300ms ping. Since switching to playing on an Oceanic server, my ping was reduced to 18ms, and I was curious to see if this fixed the bug of being unable to pick up the dredgers. I had been similarly unable to do That Darn Fox!, but this became straightforward once I moved to a local server.

I did this as a hunter today (9.1) and had no problems. Not bugged. The only trick is to shoot the enemies attacking your dredger before using your pet attack. That way they come over to you and away from the dredger and he/she/it can continue chopping.

Some comments to minimize the "Bugs" on this terrible quest:

- Apparently the Ripened Laborers that you clicked before and got bugged are not let u to pick them up, so dont mass click on them,
stay near them i click once, then click again, until u can pick them and see the action bar icon appear.

- Now look for some infested trees, they have some hollow around them, u need to trow the mob in the circle (u can trow almost 5-10 yards)
- Be cautious the enemy mobs near trees don't aggro you as this also may your trow action not count.
- w8 for the guy to "repair" the damn tree

I was able to get the dredgers to reset (become clickable again) by leaving the area and coming back. I went far enough that the WQ changed from a "?" to a "!" on the large map. Hopefully this works for others, it worked for both 2nd and 3rd dredgers for me.

If youre dredger isnt working but you can't pick up another, simply remove (right-click) the 'Rippened Laborer' buff to pick them up again
