The panthers you need are the stealth cats just south across the river from Grom'gol. You will also find the tigresses spawn in the same area. If you need more of either mob, work your way east to the other side of the road.

The claws dropped at a 100% rate for me every time I've done this quest. The pristine fang might require killing up to twenty tigers however.

If you also complete the Panther Mastery chain up to the third part (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=192), you'll be able to get credit for killing the Shadowmaw Panthers for that quest, then loot them for their claws for this quest.

Focus mostly on finding the tigresses, and kill panthers if they get in your way.
The claws have a 100% droprate, but the fang has a very low one- 5.2% stated on this site. I personally had to kill 68 tigresses in order to make it drop, and while I was finding them, I had killed ~40 panthers.
The tigresses and panthers can be found in the same areas as eachother, The area South-southeast of Grom'Gol(Before the Arena, around 36,38) has a pretty good concentration of them- other areas have other mobs as well(Such as the level 40 elite panther up at 48,23.

36,38 confirmed. It took me about 10 Tigresses to make it drop.

I don't know if it is the new patch or not, but my drog rate on the fang said 33%. And there is an abundance of Tigresses at 35,37. this quest might not take as long as it used to if my drop rate was correct.

u can spot the tigresses as soon as u cross the river south from mizjah ruins @ 37,35. I got my fang in the first try and after that u can get shadowmaw further down south. They r hard to trak since they camo but they have a 100% drop they r as high as lvl 38. i completed it lvl 34 warlock solo

It took me only 2 kills from the tigress. so that 5.2% is either a load, or im just unbelievably lucky. And i think its funny because it actually took me longer to get the shadowmaw claws.

I got the fang on my first tigress, I crossed the river by the waterfall, came over and got attacked by a tigress and she dropped it .. right at 34,35

Took me about 30 Tigresses at 49, 22. Panthers can also be found here. Lvl 35 Warrior - no problems.

A good place to do this quest would be 45,26 where there are both Shadowmaw Panthers and Stranglethorn Tigresses in abundance.

Do this quest together with Panther Mastery because you're going to be killing a lot of those panthers.

Got the Pristine Tigress Fang after about 7 kills at 46,28.

Shadowmaw claws were easy, took about 50 kills of Tigresses to get the Pristine Fang with 2 of us grinding them.

Got most of my Shadowmaw Claws at 38,36... had to go through a lot of the Tigresses to get there so they shouldn't be hard to find =P I got the Pristine Tigress Fang on the first Tigress kill.

It seems like Shadowmaw Panther and Stranglethorn Tigress share the spawn point. So, if you run out of tigresses, kill panthers so tigresses may spawn there again.

after about 60 kills the fang finally droped. This was a great xp grind.

My first Stranglethorn Tigress gave me a Fang...I was lvl 39.

It was a 100% drop for me. ^_^

Just did this yesterday and had to kill ~40 Tigresses for the Fang, so I'm not convinced the drop rate has improved as significantly as some are saying.

I had been killing the tigress up at 48,16 and the fang would not drop. went to 36, 38 and it dropped after the 4 kill.

Pristine fang took a long time for me to get. I killed them when i killed the panthers and I still had to hunt around for almost an hour to get it to drop. Didn't help that opposing faction was hunting them at the same time so spawns were scarce. I found it helped to kill panthers even after I had all I needed for the other quests, it seemed to help with tigeress' spawning.

This quest doesn`t make sense, i`ve killed lots of them until now and now fang yet,. Some people get it on their first kill and i think i killed about 55 tigresses and no luck. Blizzard sucks with this quest.

i have been on this quest for a really long time. whent through the panthers easily.. the tigeress' fang on the other hand has taken me forever. still have not got one after about killing 50+ of them.

I don't see any reason to bother with this quest, unless you want to powerlevel skinning. Before giving it up, I had 59 Tigress kills. Even if I had gotten the pristine fang on the next kill, that would land me at a 1.666~% droprate. Unless you're lucky, you'll level more efficiently by spending the time on other quests.

Hmm either drop rate has been increased since 2.4.3 or im pretty lucky :). That finger just dropped of a first Tigress i killed. I remmember killing about 70 of them couple months ago on my rogue.

i personally only had to kill around 10 or 12 tigress's before the fang dropped whether this is because the quest is a little easier i'm not sure.

If you plan on doing this quest at the appropriate level - say, 35ish, I suggest bringing an elixir that boosts your stealth detection.

The panthers are a royal pain to find, as they are stealthed well enough that you won't see them unless you are right on top of them. I had more trouble getting my 8 panther claws than I did a single tigress claw.

Description

The power of the jungle's magic must be realized and then harnessed by the Horde. My rituals have proven successful so far. I can cast very powerful enchantments. For you, brave <class>, I shall make a special item indeed.

Bring to me some Shadowmaw Panther claws along with a Tigress fang. Not just any fang will do. It must be in pristine condition.

The beasts lurk throughout the jungle but you will find some close by, just across the river from Mizjah Ruins to the southeast.
