Funny quest, you have to use provided Lucille's Sewing Needle to prick npcs to check if they are witches.
Go around the village and just prick everyone along your way.
After completing the quest you'll be rewarded with Lucille's Sewing Needle

Just found this quest to be bugged on 8/16/18 at 5:45 pm CT. The needle prick does not register when you prick an NPC, despite your character making the motion and the action button for the needle working fine. It may be something to do on the NPC side of things. Bug has been reported.

edit: 9:30 pm CT same day the quest has been fixed

Currently bugged for me right now. Only 2 of the refugees work. One by the fire, and one the single tent by the campfire,

08/17 still bugged, but there is a little workaround.

I found that only a couple of NPC works for the quest (for me the ones talking behind the big tent). You can just poke them and wait around 4-5 minutes for the respawn. Quite annoying but it works ;)

This quest was bugged for me when I picked it up. Pricking the townsfolk would do nothing.

Log out and back in. That solved the issue for me.

If having trouble, use Lucille's Sewing Needle directly from bags.

Quest objectives appear to not register if the items is used from the quest tracker.

Encountered this quest; no quest progression; seemingly bugged. Submitted bug report and was almost immediately DC'd. Logged back in and no more issues :D So I think a GM forced me to turn it off and turn it back on again.. d'oh.

First I tried logging off and back on. Still bugged. Then I actually logged off my toon and switched servers then came back. Bug b gone.

Cancel quest, logout, disable all addons, login and accept quest. Should work.
It worked with me that way.

This quest is still bugged as of 8/16/18 5pm PST. But I've found this quest works if you join a cross-realm group.

For anyone that runs into the bug related to this quest, where NPCs aren't responding to the quest item, below is from Blizz's response to my support ticket. Logging out didn't work for me, but toggling on War Mode did. Hope this helps!

"There may be a few ways to get the NPCs to grant credit for the quest. You can try toggling War Mode on and off, disable all of your Add-Ons, and/or log out and then back in on the character. Allow at least a full minute to pass when logging out to ensure that the character has cleared the server."

2. A Lesson in Witch Hunting	Lucille Waycrest - She will ask for help xD set 6 Candle ( around room) on after take notes at last take her Lucille's Sewing Kit ( is next to the doors ).	Lucille Waycrest
3. Sharp Thinking	Lucille Waycrest - You will get Lucille's Sewing Needle to make a test on 10 Corlain Refugee ( they are around house ) some of them can turn to witch. after finish you will get Lucille's Sewing Needle :D.	Lucille Waycrest
4. Hidden Dealings	AUTO START - Running around you will get this quest. Go on south enter the basement and inside will be mobs to kill.	Lucille Waycrest

I noticed that when you first click on a villager, they will say "Keep your distance mainlander." the first time you poke them, they are almost always witches.
This may or may not be an actual thing.. But it was for me every time!

Sharp Thinking

While the quest object seems to work correctly on the Corlain Refugees using the
Lucille's Sewing Needle from your bag, the Quest Item Icon in the quest log, or the item dragged to a Blizzard action bar,

it would not work when used from a Button Forge Addon bar. You may be having the same problem if using other addons to perform the prick (double entendre intentional lol).

The witch form won't be visible if you happen to do it to someone who's mounted. FYI. They'll have the buff on them and will be seen if they dismount.

Since the hotfix buff on quest-hub guards recently, the refugees that turn into witches usually aggro multiple guards and die within seconds, making this quest a lot faster to complete.

Found it to still be super buggy. I got 6 out of all the refugees to work. I tried as many suggestions as I could from the comments here (war mode, log out , tried using the item from my bag instead of Questic addon, tried joining a group to switch realms). I finally just disabled all my addons, a pain but worth it because everything worked 100% correctly after that. No more errors.

P.S. I usually have ~30+ addons going and don't usually have any issues.

You can do this quest while mounted and just fly away when they aggro you.

While on this, pricking a Corlain Refugee will sometimes reveal an Unmasked Witch who drops Hastily Drawn Map which starts Hidden Dealings.

Description

I have reason to believe that the coven has already infiltrated Arom's Stand. There are many unfamiliar faces here, with the refugees from Corlain, and we know they can use their magic to appear like one of us. This needle is fashioned of solid silver. If the witches are indeed vulnerable to silver, then a prick from this may be enough to break their spell. The refugees may not be keen on being prodded, but they must understand that this is for the good of the town... and perhaps all of Drustvar.
