I have a funny story to tell about this quest.

On my last server, everybody told me to AVOID this quest because it was such a pain in the neck. And it was. It took me forever to get the stupid bag.

A few months later I migrated to Gnomeregan and "started over from scratch". I realized this morning that I hadn't done any of the Wetlands quests, and there was nobody from the guild on so I decided to load up on them and try to burn through them as fast as possible. After visiting the Greenwarden, I was on my way to assassinate some gnolls when I saw a whelp and remembered that a beloved friend of mine in the guild wanted a whelpling pet, so I spent the next four hours farming whelps.

I got the bag OVER THERE. Like in the 60,40 neighbourhood. NOWHERE NEAR where the quest says to get it from. I was farming whelps when one of the larger oozes jumped on me and I killed it outta self defense and the bag dropped. I just about died laughing.

i usually get the bag within 10 min you just have to kill the higher oozzes in the bottom of the Ironbeard Tomb Tloc 44 25

I hate quests that have weird drop rates! To add another funny story, I was grouped with a friend when we both did this quest -- after about twenty minutes of ooze-killing with still no bag, my friend had to log because he had to go to bed. Now this same friend has been known to stay up overnight for PvP (on his main character) so I needled him and said that he should at least stay to help me get back to town (we were inside that tomb killing oozes there), I mean clearing back up to the entrance would take all of two minutes. But he decided to hearth then and there, telling me he was tired, had to get up early, etc. My own hearthstone was set to Stormwind, and I didn't want to fly back, so I said goodbye and started to clear.

And wouldn't you know it -- the very next ooze I killed dropped the bag! My friend was in Ironforge, about to log, when I decided to rub it in his face and link it a few times. It apparently took him another fifteen minutes to get that bag to drop, later. ^__^

I would suggest accepting the quest and killing oozes while doing your other Wetlands quests.

I just want to say I just did the quest, and I just had to kill like 6 Ooze's and the bag dropped :) and I'm lvl 21.. Peace of cake :D

All the Oozes near the Tomb ( 44.27 ) will do , got mines on the first kill.

Well, On my main, I got this on my first kill, so I thought, yeah this will be a piece of cake. I was wrong, after 15 kills I went on Wowhead to find out what the drop rate was, but I didn't find out, so after another 5 kills I asked in the general chat. I was told about 20 kills, and after 2 more kills I got the bag. So don't give up, the reward is great, it just requires patience.

All you "first kill" people deserve to be hunted down by a rabid murloc. I know people who have grinded this quest for DAYS.

bout 10-15 kills, pretty easy mobs... location is at about 44,26 - or to those of you without coords, its near mts directly NE of Menethil Harbor... Mine dropped of a Crimson Oooze, if that may help at all

I never had trouble with this quest. Just a matter of grind oozes for 5-10 minutes and you got it.

HAHA i was on my way to the tomb and at 56 43 i saw a stray Ooze and i killed him and dropped the bag, feel sorry for those people who grinded for days lol

I agree with the weird drop location. I was grinding for Raptor eggs, east of Menethil, up against the mountains, and took out a black ooze and there was the bag (somewhere close to 26.1,46.6). I had to blink a couple times because I wasn't sure I was seeing it correctly. Saved me running to the tomb! :D

I dont know whats everyone talking about this quest is super easy just find the tomb its in the north of the march and kill the first red slime on the steps and you have the bag!

You have to kill the oozes in Ironbeard's Tomb.To find it take the road east of Menethil and then to the north.Before you enter Dun Modr head west.It's close to the hills just south of Dun Modr.

Wow, this quest was not a wild goose chase for me. All I did was make my way to the house that was cited in the coords above and there was a slightly reddish-colored ooze inside the tomb entrance. Dropped the bag, no problem.

I remember the first time I did this quest...I must've killed hundres of those slimes before it finally dropped.
This time I was more lucky though, and it dropped after about 5-10 kills.
If you decide to enter the actual tomb - Make sure to clean the closer outside of it first, or you might end up with to many mobs on your back.

I got Sida's bag with the second kill. Which I found amusing, because on an old character, I killed hundreds of these mobs, and gave up, because the drop rate was so miserable for me. ..

I think most of the bad feelings about this quest were from earlier in the game's history. On my first couple of characters, this one quest took more time than any of the others in the Wetlands. However, recently, perhaps in the past year, the drop has come very quickly. I did it again last night and it dropped on my third kill. The time before that I believe it was on my tenth. That's certainly a lot better than the hundred or so it took the first couple of times. I've heard similar reports from my guildmates, so I suspect Blizzard tweaked the drop rate at some point.

Did this with my lvl 21 hunter, got the bag at the 2nd kill.
So higher lvls (or the same lvls as the oozes are) might struggle with this... Guess the best lvl to do this is about 21-23.

Really not even that bad of a drop. I'd say 10 oozes - which are really easy to kill if you're 24+ - and you'll have it. Took me less than 10 minutes and I had it.

This has got to be one of the most easiest quests in the game, i have done this with 7 different charecters. I normally pick up the quest and on my way to Greenwarden i kill the oozes. It normally drops in the first 2-4 kills.

Got Sida's Bag on 6th kill around "42,27". Was a 17% drop rate for me.

As for my mage....
Took exactly 67 kills - but I was nowhere near the tombs :P

I really think that it is reccomended to go to the Tomb and farm the Oozes there instead!

But still, my mage got more exp overall since the grinding gave alot of experience. So if you get it on your 100th kill, don't worry! All that exp was put to good use :)

May think surprincess is correct, there now with my level 27 priest and gotten 14000 exp from them so far.They give 115 Experice each so Ive hit above hundred counts.

-Concluded:Got the bag after about 16.5k Experience

Got mine to the right of the main road, just after the "pond" east of Menethil. Rough estimate of coords were 23,47. I was busy killing the raptors there for the extension of the "Absent Minded Professor" quest, and noticed there were Black Oozes occasionally as well. I'd say it took 10-15 kills to drop.

So yes, this pretty much confirms that they drop off ANY ooze within the zone, not just the ones at/in the tomb.

i killed one at 38,6 57,4 and it droped the bag first kill but my inventory was full i was emptying a highlands raptor came and killed me

Went to do quest grouped drop never happened. I died other party member got it right away. I came back ungrouped pulled it on the first one. So try UNGROUPED if you can't get it together.

Completed as a level 20 hunter.

The quest is definitely doable as a hunter (possibly warlock as well) -- just let your pet keep aggro. If he looses aggro pop a Concussive Shot and run back until he can regain aggro. :) Good luck.

By the way, it's a great grinding quest. I'd recommend doing it simply because it's something to keep you going as you're grinding. 44, 25

could not have been easier to find the bag. I went to Dun Modr, third oze i killed drop the bag.. easiest quest i have ever done, plus along the way i picked up some potions.

Well I got all of y'all beat: using my lvl 25 dwarf priest, I trammeled up the hill near the road and found a black ooze at 48,28. This was the first one I found, killed it and the needed bag dropped. Never expected a drop on the very first kill. *L*

Killed a few Black Ooze's and nothing then killed the Crimson Ooze outside the tomb and got it first time.Crimson one outside the tomb is probably you best option.

The drop rate is random. It took one kill with my Shaman to get it but my warrior took 20-30 or so kills for it to drop.

I dont know y but everytime i do this quest i cant get it on the first try i never can. So for the people that have gotten it on the first try nice job. But for the people that have trouble with getting the Sida's bag, im with ya guys.
Oh and its cords are 44.22, 25.22 in Ironbread's Tomb. I wish u the best of luck.

A friend of mine at school said me he've been farming these mobs all day so they droped the bag, and he only got it at 22:15 of the night and he started at 9:00 morning and taking some breaks for eat and those things...i went to there and i was like "omg i will stay here all day too?" 2nd kill got it i just've been kidding with him all day at school with that XD

Got the bag from about the last ooze alive.Killed 10 or so grey oozes outside then into the tomb and it was on
one of the crimson oozes downstairs who had three mates with him.

Well in this cave (which is only 3 short stories) I found some real good items like weapons and armor. One blue one green but still good. I went to the bottom of the cave and killed off a lot of them (by the way if you were to shoot the monstrous ones with an arrow the others don't come after him to aid just him that you shot) I finally died while getting chased when i came back alive i found sidas bag in a monster on the outside of the cave near the left side of the cave and killed him and got it. I hope this helped some.

If u go where the quest tells you to go , dont stay out and kill black ooze`s , cause that would take ages. go inside and kill the red oozes , It will only take a few minutes. Atleast it did for me.

What is not mentioned anywhere is that the bag will drop from oozes only. The zone also has slimes running around that look identical to the oozes. Don't waste your time with the slimes.

Ok, so I have always had trouble with the whole coordinates thing cause I don't have it. So, all you have to do to find Ironbeard's tomb is go along the path that splits north toward Dun Modr (in far north on map..). A short distance from the split off, you will find oozes, but they are grey in color and sometimes hard to see, they are roaming around near Ironbeard's tomb. If you don't see them, just look to the left a short distance from the split off (like 10 sec or so of running) and you should see a sunken building off in the distance, which looks like the 1st screenshot pic for this quest. I found that I couldn't get the bag off of any of the 3 red oozes I encountered entering and within the tomb, and my armor was getting destroyed. So I looked at some of the comments here, and found that the one about killing black (grey) oozes outside of the tomb on the left side, was very effective when I tried again. By my 3rd or 4th grey ooze kill, I found Sida's Bag. I would suggest trying the red oozes if this method does not work out. I think it skips between the two color ooze types, every time someone obtains the bag from one... Happy Hunting! X)

Another thing: If you are lower than level 30, I would suggest definitely trying the grey oozes outside (mostly on the left, if none, then work your way around close to the tomb first, then slowly outward from the tomb) if you are doing the quest by yourself, solo; but if you are in a group, all around level 20 or higher, just kill however you like and I'm sure you will find Sida's Bag pretty easily.

i had the same problem couldnt find the bag no matter what later on i discoverd its at 44.25 u will see a reddish ooze at the entrance of the tomb kill it and u will have the bag

yeah this was helping only until i had no idea where ironbeards tomb which is about north east of whelgars excavation camp. which is right up the road in the wetlands where it forks right there where you can either go back to menethil or up to arathi highlands. :) hope this helps.

I only read the first few comments and from people saying hundreds i was about to abandon the quest, but I gave it a shot and what do you know first kill. I scrolled down and noticed the other comments and realized I wasn't as lucky as I thought.

Got it off the 3rd black ooze I killed around Ironbeard's Tomb after killing a bunch of oozes along the southern mountains without any luck.

All the coordinates shown on Wowhead's map pretty much show you where you gotta go.. personally I got the drop while killing oozes part of the west bunch, after I'd killed about a dozen or so a little all over the map. Done with a level 20 Mage.

Careful not to waste your time killing slimes.. they look the same but they won't drop the bag.

Digging Through the Ooze

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

One of the oozes at Ironbeard's Tomb has Sida's bag, retrieve it and bring it back to her in Menethil Harbor.

Description

On my weekly visit to Ironbeard's Tomb I was attacked by dreadful, dripping oozes! Naturally, I panicked.

I threw my bag at one, but it didn't do anything! The ooze just sucked it right up... Luckily, it did give me enough time to get away.

The bad news is that I really need to get the contents of my bag!

I don't know which ooze I threw my bag at; they all looked the same! Ironbeard's Tomb is northeast of here, near Dun Modr. Thank you so much!
