So I just saw this quest for the first time today, located next to the bridge into Black Rook Hold. It's extremely confusing since they don't really explain what's going on very well (possibly on purpose). There are two types of powerups that recharge your air dash ability - a purple orb, and a purple crystal that also pops you up into the air. If you hit a yellow wall or start to fall, it will teleport you back to the start.

Here is the sequence that I used to finish:

-Dash into the purple crystal, it will launch you up into the air
-Dash into the purple orb
-Fall for a few seconds, then dash through the first arch under the bridge. You must hit the purple orb located inside
-Dash all the way through the arch into the purple crystal on the other side, it will launch you into the air
-Dash into the purple orb right next to the top of the bridge
-Dash again in the same direction, you will fall down and hit a blue platform. If you fail again from here it will reset you back to this point instead of the beginning
-Dash through the arch you're next to under the bridge, into the purple orb
-Dash again into the purple crystal, it will launch you up into the air
-You have to fall down and dash into the gap between the yellow walls, there is another purple orb there you need to hit
-Dash into the middle arch under the bridge, into the goal.

Yeah I would just skip this one, it has some really annoying bugs or intended annoyance. Several times I fall into the river instead of being transported back to the beginning or the halfway blue platform and have to swim back or take a flight path and ride back. Madfigs guide is spot on, but the design of the quest is far too annoying to make it enjoyable. The 3-4k AP just isn't worth it.

Ok, some minor tips.

Launch yourself as close as you can to the first crystal. It helps to keep you in line with the next orb. I kept landing on the bridge so you have to step off backward to keep yourself going.

Once you make it to the 2nd platform, think of next orb as 12 o'clock, position yourself between 12 and 3 on the disc before you launch and you won't land on the bridge again.

And, I agree, worst quest ever.

I decided to post a fun MS-Paint drawing for those of you who are guided by visuals.
It's not beautiful, I'll warn you, but hopefully it helps you with the route you need to take

Steps:
1. Start at the red star, and hop down. Use your "jump" ability when you are level with the fuzzy-arcane-cloud which will grant you an extra jump.
2. Use jump again to get to the first arcane crystal. This will toss you into the air.
3. Use your momentum to jump to the next cloud.
4. 1 more time, jump to the platform. (This is hardest step imo)
5. Now you're half way, and if you fall you'll get teleported back here, instead of the start. Time to jump to the next cloud.
6. Jump to #6, and you'll be tossed up again.
7. Here comes another tricky part. There is a small "gap" in the yellow box, you need to use your jump to jump though the gap, onto the next cloud.
8. Once you're through the gap, one more jump to the end. THANK GOD.

True to Kirin Tor quest style, this was a bit out of the ordinary and a complete blast to do. I hope they continue to add more quests like these as the expansion goes on, I always look forward to doing them when they're up - which is more often now, since recent hotfixes have made them spawn even without the Emissary being active.

The purple crystals give you a spring up into the air. The purple bubbles instantly refill your dash 1 key. The white walls prevent you from moving through it by resetting your character. The goal is to reach the purple circle in the center of the bridge arch.

Strat is dash forward to the purple crystal turn right and dash forward to the purple bubble. You can continue forward and rest on the bridge and fall down to go through the purple bubble and dash through the purple crystal. Turn left and dash through the purple bubble and dash to the blue checkpoint platform.

From the blue check point you dash forward, forward, left turn (toughest part through the white wall crack or rest on the bridge above and drop down), left turn. GL getting through the white wall with out falling too far out of the quest range and being tosses out of the quest instance. The bridge is your friend for resting on the outside boarders of it.

It was a challenge. I think DHs, may find it easier than others, since we're fel rushing all over the place, anyway. Took me ~20 minutes and 30 attempts, not worth the time and 4800AP, unless you like tricky puzzles.

One important thing to mention, you can oftentimes land on the bridge and it won't call you Out of Bounds, so don't automatically think it's over unless it ports you back to the start (or the disc if you're further ahead).

Okay, this quest wasn't too bad when I figured out the rules, however, like most other people, I was infuriated by the fact that there was NO directions on how to complete this, and merely turned into a trial and error until finally putting the puzzle together.

As a guide to everyone else, here's the rules first;

1.) You must collect all purple orbs.
2.) You must pass through the gate at the end, skirting by it does NOT count.
3.) You must dodge all red orbs.
4.) You must not fall too far

Now on to how to actually do it. When you start, if you weren't paying attention like I didn't at first, your bars change to have only 2 skills. The first is the dash necessary, the second is a reset button. Demon hunters do NOT try to override this by just gliding through, it doesn't work, I tried.

Now, when you initially start the course, in front of you will be a wall of red orbs, a purple orb at the top, and one at the bottom. If you miss the top purple orb, you WILL fail. The best way I found to get it and not touch the red was to back up on the cliff, dash forward, and let the momentum drop you into that purple and down along the red. Once at the bottom, you must dash through the next purple, and continue dashing, dodging reds and gathering purples.

Now, there IS a light at the end of the initial tunnel, and that light is that once you're inside the arcane walls you may have noticed (they're white), there's a platform that works as a checkpoint. Once you get there, any time you fail, you will be sent back to this point.

Once at this point, you need to directly fall off (I fell off a little bit to the side to dodge the red orb), dash through the purple orb, and then into a new mechanic; purple crystals. These do 2 things; The first being that they shoot you up into the air, the second being that they also reset your charge, making these a necessity to complete the course.

For the most part, the ending is dashing along the bottom, following the trail of breadcrumbs, and getting shot up occasionally. The only other hard part after this is right at the end, what I found is to dash around the red, hitting the purple as you go outward to get another dash to go back in to the final purple, and then finally into the gate. This part is the definite show that you CANNOT do this with keyboard turn (at least if you do, you're a god, and I want to know how many times you tried.) To get the precision required, you are going to have to turn with your mouse, showing another area where Blizzard did not consider all of its player base when making this WQ.

Well, I couldn't complete it, but I did find the one in Azsuna and complete the 1st stage. From Shackle's Den, take the western path up and around, and then jump over the east wall at 57,72. Walk along the ledge to Archmage Kesalon and the quest should pop up.

In the air are big, fiery orange balls, small purple orbs with a faint larger sphere around them, and white angular planes. The small purple orbs are the ones you want to hit, and avoid the others.

Standing on the obtuse corner near Kesalon, pressing 1 will take you to the 1st purple orb. Then as you fall, you have to time pressing 1 again so you hit the next purple orb.

I managed to get to the save point near the angular planes, where if you fall you will respawn on a platform instead of back at the beginning. I couldn't get past that, lol. There are purple crystals after that which launch you up in the air, and then you have to time your fall again to hit the next target, but it was too hard for me.

The quest is a cool idea with currently poor execution. I wonder if it was ever play-tested on a connection with realistic lag. The behavior of the orbs is unpredictable - sometimes the orb stops your forward momentum, but usually not, so that you overshoot. The checkpoint platform is easy to overshoot especially.

This took me 25 minutes to complete first time. I can't be certain, but as MM, it may help to unequip Thas'dorah, and click off the Windrunning buff. This may help make the speed of the character more consistent.

This quest is a trainwreck. If you're not fighting against latency, you're struggling with inconsistent rush physics.

Oh, and just brushing the end point will teleport you back to the checkpoint/beginning, depending on how you went about it. Gotta hit the thing pretty much dead centre for it to count.

Also, accidentally rushing off the checkpoint platform in the wrong direction will teleport you to the beginning! So that's fun! (In Val'sharah, at least. Dunno about Azsuna. I'm not going to try, either.)

Quests like this and Mounting Made Easy is going to slowly but surely transform me into an entity like the Dead Sea.

EDIT: With flying, you can just meme your way across with your flying mount, no fel rush required. Just stay on path and win.

Step 1 - Fly to the Purple Crystal and get shot in the air, rotate 90 to the right
Step 2 - Fly at the purple orb - I usually overshoot this (even though you're suppose to fall straight down as soon as you hit it) but if I can land on the ledge I am fine.
Step 3 - Fall to tunnel height.
Step 4 - Fly to 2nd purple orb under the tunnel.
Step 5 - Tap 1 again to immediately fly to the next Crystal and get launched in the air. Rotate 90 to the left
Step 6 - Fly to the 3rd orb.
Step 7 - Fall for about 1 second and then fly and try to land on Blue

Congrats you're at the halfway point the rest is easy

Step 1 - Fly to next Orb
Step 2 - Fly to next crystal get launched in the air, rotate 90 to the left
Step 3 - Fall and fly to the next crystal through the 2 planes, rotate 90 left
Step 4 - Fly to the gate.
Step 5 - Now go punch a Dev.

my biggest problem was overshooting that middle blue platform. however, if you overshoot and land on the ledge ahead, you can still jump back onto the blue platform to retrigger the wq

Yea.. I did this for like 20 tries.. The AIR time is too FAST to actually coordinate under the bridge in an easy manner.

I feel it needs a LITTLE more "Drift" time on the drop down and maybe a couple more ball's and/or pylons spaced out.

Steep learning curve with the details provided in game. Took coming here to figure out.

Need to rework the "Fall" Delay as it does not give very much time to align/point your character.

VERY Annoyed at this one... took a bit to understand mechanics and the in game instructions suck worse that NOMI's cooking (And that is BAD).

Maybe you have an EXAMPLE shown of the path video watching the person doing the challenge.

Took like 20 tries and glad the mid-way point saves progress at that spot. THAT is too close for that last jump from ball. Maybe DOUBLE it's size?

I really liked this quest. I find it diferent and original. The best part of the World quests is that you dont "have" to do them. So if you dont like this kind of quests, or the step ones, also from the Kirin Tor, you can just skip them.

I had fun trying to figure out the way, and you can see my experience in this short video.
The video is not a guide, it is the process I followed to get it solved. I had read nothing about it or saw nothing. So I fail a couple of times before getting it right ^^

I think this is funnier than killing 20 boars or waiting for some mobs to respawn, but I understand this kind of quests are not for everyone.

We play this game to have fun, and the developers have done a great job with the diversity of the world quests so, if you dont like it, just jump to another one. I see no point on complaining :P

To find the one in Suramar (quest marker at 41, 20), take the portal in Shal'Aran to Moon Guard Stronghold and take the road up and to the right. Up a bunch of stairs, across Highmist Terrace to The Lunar Crucible at 40.9, 17.5. You will find Archmage Kesalon at 41.2, 21.4 and that is where the quest starts.

I had this quest at Northern Suramar, at the top of the waterfalls. This was my first and last attempt at this quest. After rushing forward, i dropped to my death mid-waterfall and was unable to reach my corpse without running 20 minutes all the way back to the top. I didn't bother with that so i took the res sickness and decided i wouldn't be trying this quest ever again.

Took me awhile for the Suramar one, maybe 10-20 tries on the first part and then 3-5 on the 2nd part. Shouldn't be that hard in the future imo once you get used to it. Took 3 tries to complete it fully on 2nd char after learning it.

Definately had fun doing it. Finally something that required some decent effort instead of just a regular mindless WQ.

Definitely agree with those who hate this q, one of the most annoying things Blizz have ever created in WoW!
Biggest annoyance is getting to the platform midpoint. Once you get there it is slightly (but only slightly) less annoying, but the whole thing is far too annoying to be worth anything other than artifact power!

Suramar one (and maybe some others) can be easily completed by using Goblin Glider Kit:

Bind your glider to make it easier
Talk to Kesalon to open interact window
Jump
Press your glider bind and click Um, what? simultaneously while mid-air
Glide all the way down to the finish circle

If you're overshooting your target after you hit them, try toggling walk (/ key on number pad). You won't fly nearly as far after hitting the orb.

Okay after many attempts I realized that if I wait a short time between the jumps, It's easier to proceed to the next one.

Because I was rushing and overshot and failed over and over again..

Also I put on "walk" mode as mentioned earlier here in the comments.

You can reach this area by making your way to the Lunar Crucible by going through Moon Guard Stronghold or by taking the portal to Moon Guard Stronghold from Shal'Aran once you have completed the associated Suramar quest line.

This quest will likely take a few tries to get it right, and the Suramar version of this quest has a higher-than-average likelihood of falling to your death. Here are the basics: Your (1) ability causes you to lunge forward. When you hit a purple crystal, you will be launched up in the air. Pass through the purple spheres to reset the cooldown on this ability so that you can make it through the maze without falling. Should you fall, you will be teleported to Archmage Kesalon. Once you reach the blue platform slightly under halfway through the puzzle, this will serve as a "checkpoint" so that if you should fall after this point, you will be returned to the blue platform. Follow the video to see how you reach the end goal of this world quest.

Honestly I don't know why is everyone so upset. It takes minimum to figure it out. Red-fiery stuff is usually bad for you in WoW, the mage said that orbs recharge the jump ability. Took me two tries. First one I failed and returned to the archmage by pressing 5, the second one I finished the quest. Takes very little platforming skills, pushing the dash button at the right time and aiming in the right direction, this isn't exactly Super Meat Boy, really... it was really simple.

Just did this quest today. On my first attempt I dashed and then fell to the ground and died with my corpse half way up the waterfall. I had to run all through the stronghold while dead to just get back to my corpse.

The Suramar version of this is even worse than Val'sharah. It's super easy to jump in a way where the game doesn't port you back, but instead you hit a rock and die. If you are extra fortunate, the rock will be in such a place that you have to take resurrection sickness.

It makes me want to gather up the people who implemented this; as well as those who tested it for quality; sort them all up in a row; and kick them in the balls. Hard.

For the Suramar version of this quest its really not that bad and I completed it within 5mins of trying
If u dont notice early on there is a fixed distance how long you will travel with the dash and there is also a fixed distance between the purple orbs you need to go through

The first jump you do going into the first orb matters more than anything else.
If you dash too far, then all the other orbs will be too far and if u dash too short then all the others orb will be too short aswell
Thats why If u perfect the dash to the first orb the others will just line up perfectly

Also when you reach the checkpoint (the rune of magic thing) its the exact same thing, the dash to the first orb after CP is what its all about

For me it worked fine by going into the first orb by jumping towards orb nr 1 from the left of the two rocks that are in the middle of top of the waterfall
And after reaching the checkpoint I dashed while standing still inside the rune

Suramar: To complete this quest in the legit way, here's a short description of how I got it to work. Note that this is more a test of your ability to turn with the mouse, if you turn with your keyboard this isn't for you.

1) Accept quest, drop down to the ledge immediately behind the mage.
2) Running jump hit your air boost button - for me this was the 1 button.
3) Now the difficult part, and this will take practice. Aim for the next bubble and hit the boost as soon as you get through the first bubble. Aim again for the next bubbles until you land at the platform. THIS will be your halfway point and you can now mess up all you like and not have to get through that first phase again. You will start at the platform anytime you mess up from here on.
4) Running start and boost to the first bubble from the platform, then fall for a split second to avoid the negative energy beam while aiming for the next bubble. Repeat boosts until the next negative energy bubble, falling again for a split second and then aiming for the final bubbles and the goal.

I've done this across three 110s today, it gets easier once you do it the first time. Good luck.

And also, worst quest I've seen among non Leatherworkers ever.

this is the most dumb quest i have ever seen on wow and its so annoying i tried for a bit and don't think ill ever do it again i never could complete this quest what was wow thinking when they made this quest

I notice there's a lot of commentary on this quest. I found it a lot less frustrating once I 'got' what it was that I was intended to do on this quest, and actually don't mind it now. So here's a summary:

Losing all forward momentum is normal. In fact it's probably even necessary.
The expectation is that when you rush forward, you go through an orb, not on top of it.
Ideally you go through each checkpoint, not on top of them. So it's rush, aim, rush, aim, etc
Keep a finger over the reset button (5)

Once I understood this, I got it in three tries (but many failed attempts including a death before this point). The first half is the only tricky part. My steps then were:

Start on the middle rock.
Aim at the first orb, jump off until the camera disappears into the waterfall, and then rush forward.
Aim at second orb, rush forward
Aim at fourth orb, rush forward. Orb #3 is not necessary.
Continue aiming and rushing.

Best I can tell the 10% movement perk causes you to overshoot the platform in the middle of the puzzle. I switched specs and it then took me just a few tries to complete.

Guys, simply skip that stupid mechanic and use some gobline gliders and you re done for in 30s. This worked for me, at least with the suramar one.

Here's how I did it:

* Took the quest then pressed 5 to abandon it.
* Jumped into the respawned hurricane and kept on flying back into it until the quest got triggered.
* Flew into the final target with ease.

For the World Quest (WQ) Like the Wind in north Suramar, assuming you are where the quest giver is and are frustrated with not being able to even start reaching the orbs, this should make things easier.

Position yourself on the second rock to the right of the NPC at the very tip of the rock, here and use the 1 Ability, "Air Dash" and keep dashing to the orbs. Assumption here is that you have done the other puzzles before. Keep the 5 Ability, "Abandon Quest" handy in case you hit a red orb or miss the purple ones so that you don't fall to your death.

I absolutely hate that there are TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS of this quest. The Suramar version is straight out uncompleteable, by the way. You just fall to your death half the time. I say that because I only tried it twice, it only ported me back up to the start one time, and the other time I died on a outcropping when I fell, and there's no way in hell I'm running back to try to get my body, so forced rez sickness it is. Screw this quest design. Don't bother.

Unbelievably terrible quest, expect death and much frustration on the long winding run back to your corpse. The best bit is you die on a multi level waterfall and you can miss your landing when spirit running so you have the choice of running all over again and try not to miss your ledge or ten minutes of res sickness and 300g repairs(plate).(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Onyx1831##DELIM##

Suramar World Quest

So I just beat this on accident with a bug I think. I was getting really pissed off with this quest since it's really buggy and I kept dieing when I fell from the waterfall. After about 12 attempts, I abandoned the quest and this tornado appeared at the top of the waterfall in front of the quest giver. Instead of gliding done, I walked into the tornado which propelled me forward (like slow fall) and I ended up falling down slowly to the very end of where the last purple orb was.

When you do this, the orbs do not appear - however if you've done this enough times you should know where the last one is. Just aim in that direction and BAM! I didn't actually mean to do this, but I ended up hitting the last orb (without seeing it) and my screen reloaded to having my toon back up at the top of the waterfall with the quest being rewarded to me!

For those that are struggling like I was, try out this tactic. It saved me so much time since the slow fall actually lets you control where you're falling.

After attempting this too many times in the Suramar version of the quest, and after coming here to try and figure this out, I have almost no clue what I am supposed to be doing on this quest, what the goal is, or how to do it. No clue. Zip out over the waterfall. Aim for the orbs? Ok? End up nowhere near the orbs. Fall down and get ported back up or fall to death. Um, ok?

There is an Abandon Quest button. I find this useful. Too bad I dont get APs for pressing that.

There is a stormheim version of this, and it is 100 times worse than any of the others, because you can't even see the goal, or any orbs, and anything other than 3 purple crystals which shoot you in the air, and literally every direction you dash instantly ports you back to the begining.

I just completed the one in Stormhelm and it goes like this.... Part#1 With first 3 crystals you have to felrush through all 3 of them in such a way so you will land on the blue circle on the water, which is like a checkpoint/pitstop, from where you continue to the rest of the crystals. Part#2, the crystals surrounded by the blue sphere give and extra charge, so you would want to use them too for more jumps, and avoid the fire spheres because they restart the game, but the only good part of this quest is that at least you will start from the "checkpoint" i mentioned before. So...i hope i made my self clear enough, but if not, please feel free to ask. The FINNISH line/portal (it looks like a portal) is under the bridge so it's not such a big distance but sure as hell as it feels like it... :P

Tips and Info:

Fastest way to get there is via Moon Guard Stronghold portal
Purple orbs give you a recharge on your sprint boost so you can use it again.
The blue platform is a "save point."
Orange orbs reset you to the start or the blue platform "save point."
You'll need to either sprint over, just under, or just to the side of the orange orbs to complete the course.

I've just completed the Suramar one. The quickest way to get to the NPC / starting point is to use the Moon Guard Stronghold portal from Shal'Aran and go up the stairs until you reach the top of the waterfall (you might have to go through a few hostile NPCs if you don't have stealth).

Blizzard probably hotfixed the quest because it seems to automatically teleport you back to the starting point everytime you fall to your death. Only once it ported me back with like 5% hp, every other time I was at full health.

You basically get 1 dash skill that will make you dash through the air, but it's on a 5s cooldown. If you dash into a purple orb the cooldown resets so you can keep dashing. If you dash into a golden orb you get stunned.

After a few orbs there's a platform that works as a checkpoint, so if you fail after that you'll start from the checkpoint and not from the beginning.

Took me a few attempts but in just around 5 minutes (after finding the starting point) I was done.

And to add insult to the annoyance ... the Kirin Tor Emissary Quests today consist of not one but two Like the Wind quests (at Suramar and Azsuna) with a total of 14800 AP! (seescreen shot)

Like if the Kirin Tor just found that this quest is a turning point in their fight against the Legion!

Whoever designed this quest has successfully infiltrated Kirin Tor forces and shifted their attention toward stupid missions!

This quest is very frustrating to figure out because it has absolutely minimal explanation, at first I thought the purple ones were bad because they were all surrounding an orange, the orange is the bad one in reality, you have to react FAST, do NOT hit the 'return' button unless you're giving up on the quest it'll reset any checkpoint you had and you'll have to go through the annoyance of starting it again by talking to the mage, if you messed up and missed an orb he'll save you from death and just teleport you back up while still in the quest. While it is hard at first once you know the route it is simply a matter of following it with fast enough reaction speed, if you're a keyboard turner you should probably just drop the quest cause it is almost a requirement to use your mouse to turn fast enough. But if you think you can do it go for it! The blue platforms are checkpoints, if you fall you'll be reset to them giving you a bit of wiggle room. Don't expect to get this on your first try at all, unlike every other world quest that is simple in its completion method this one requires a bit of brain power on your part. It is a very satisfying quest to finish, took me roughly 15 minutes to figure out how to do it, but once I knew what to do it was pretty fun.

Again while I do enjoy a "Puzzle" this Mario brothers attempt just pisses me off. I hate jumping puzzles that have ZERO or crap explanation in the game.

Same issues as other one:
1) HANG Time in Air is not enough. Those with high ping are likely to be very angry with Blizz on this one. Those folks that have crap reaction time also will be angry.

2) Maybe a Portal to get here is in order? If not best bet is to fly to Obsidian Overlook (High Mountain) edge of map and use Goblin Glider to drop down.

3) Video above it pretty spot on. Drop a bit before doing the (1) button rush. It appears when you go into the bubble you do get some "AIR LIFT" higher. Didn't notice this before so it could cloud your judgement on how to tackle the maze.

4) Again - a short VIDEO on the NPC showing you HOW to do it would save a LOT of frustration for people.

Just buy a glider or use your glider cloak, climb up the mountain so your looking down on the NPC quest giver, jump off and pass him by and glide to the end. You don't need any purple orbs or blue tables, just glide to the goal.

Note: Climb far enough up to get your regular interface showing, so you can use your glider.

If you have a mage or priest friend (or are a mage or priest yourself) levitate/slow fall yourself right before you talk to the quest giver. If you start on the right most rock and making a running jump towards the left most orb (the one to the left of the fireball) but don't use your dash ability, you'll slow fall far enough that you can skip every orb except the last one which you can dash towards then dash immediately again on to the blue platform. The 2nd half of the quest is less difficult.

What I did was walked up to the World quest giver, walked up the mountain left of him, until the World Quest disappeared. Jumped, popped my glider and flew to the finish point.

I don't know if intended, but being desperate it helped to finish it.

Priests can cheese through all of these "Like the Wind" quests by simply casting Levitate on themselves. It really makes jumping from a point to the other a lot easier.
So, if you're really frustrated with those quests, I suggest you to group with a friend Priest and ask them, gently, for a Levitate :D

Hubby's sequence for the Suramar version of this:

Like the Wind - Suramar (Moon Guard Waterfall)
1. Stand on the 2nd rock to the right as you face the waterfall (in the river)
2. Run and jump off the waterfall, burst across to the first orb
3. Burst to hit the 2nd orb
4. Angle left and burst - you will need to be slightly above the Golden orb.
5. Angle right and spam burst to reach the checkpoint.
6. Run and jump toward the first shadow orb, burst to reach it.
7. Fall for a millisecond and burst to the right of the first golden orb.
8. Angle to follow the orbs around to the left, spamming burst.
9. At the 2nd golden orb, angle Right and spam burst to reach the goal.
10. Win.

I'm not even getting close to the first orb and after being teleported back 10 times the controls disappeared. I saw that as a sign and gave up. Fun fact: 2 "Like the wind" quests are the only ones up for the Kirin Tor today and they have a WQ-day. This game is such fun. I'm gonna watch a movie.

Easily the absolute worst world quest to date. Unless you like trying over and over and over and over because the orbs didn't reset your dash CD because they didn't register, or for whatever reason the ability doesn't go off, or you make the absolutely damning mistake of not timing everything perfectly, your best bet is to just skip this one.

The only way i could easily complete these quests without frustration was by zooming all the way so i was in first person mode. It made it much easier for me to guide my camera/char around.

Ok this quest sucks, here's the easy/lazy way to do it, the Suramar version, at least:

Use a goblin glider to glide down to the NPC from Obsidian Overlook in Highmountain.

Once down there, abandon the quest by pushing 5.

Look to your left, you'll see a small hill with a blue leyline seam crawling upwards. Climb up there until you can't climb anymore, and look to your right. There's a small patch of grass by two trees.

Once your glider is off cooldown, jump and glide toward the npc, you have to get very close to the water, but the quest will re-trigger, as soon as it does, quickly turn your glider out toward the goal.

ignore everything and glide right into the goal, completing the mission.

The most important part: After completing, wait for the glider to come off CD, jump off the waterfall again and glide, all the while giving the quest giver the finger for such a horrid mission.

1/7/17 EDIT:

Sorry folks, looks like someone tipped off blizzard and this method no longer works. The glider loses momentum once you get close enough to retrigger the mission. Thank the random jerk that had to ruin it for others.

Ignore the contrarian guy in General chat who says the quest is fun, so easy, and his favorite WQ ever.
Attempt again
Rage quit.
Submit a bug report to Blizzard that just says "FIX IT."
Reevaluate your list of the worst WoW quests of all time.
Go to WoWhead to talk about the quest with other people who understand your pain.

Ok, what am I missing here? I've read essentially everyone's posts about this and watched about 7 Youtube videos on it. I just don't get how people are able to stay up in the air at all. The total list of things I can do with this quest are "1 - Air Dash" which makes me dash forward a bit and then fall immediately out of the sky. In the case where I manage to go through a purple thing, I get to dash again after I frantically twist to a new direction to point toward another purple thing. I am pretty much universally too low to get to another purple thing and nothing keeps me in the air. It's just a non-stop full speed fall that doesn't resemble any of the stories or videos I've seen. How the heck do I maintain a bit of altitude instead of just falling out of the sky?

Edit: After 20 minutes of trying this over and over again with no outcomes except falling out of the sky, I gave up and moved on to another WQ. (Literally ANY other WQ was awesome enough to pull me away from this crap.)

Go to cliff behind npc (area where you don't have vehicle bar). Jump and hit your glider and enter the quest area. aim for goal at end, Profit.

Make sure you stay within course or it will still port you out
Make sure NOT to hit any of buttons or actually go through orbs as it'll cancel glider. Just follow course with glider until you reach end then spin around until you enter portal.

My favorite part of this quest is that there are literally no other Kirin Tor quests available right now, so I can't progress the emissary quest without it and still can't complete it even if I do.

Edit: finally found a position where it would register my dash before I fell below the second orb, and did it in three tries after that. Just shows that it isn't even a very difficult puzzle, just arbitrarily tedious.

Suramar Strategy using Goblin Glider

Start on the rock to the left shown here:

Jump towards the quest giver and use the glider, get near the quest giver to "activate" the WQ
Make sure the orbs spawn
Glide to the finish bit

If you mess up your aim, or the orbs don't spawn, just use the reset button and wait 3 minutes for the cool down and try again, no frustration!

Took me two attempts after I found the best place to glide from.

I don't care what you get after completing 4 WQ for the Kirin Tor. It does not look like it will even be worth ANY of this frustration. Moving on.

I actually got lucky and did this without even standing on the platform. (with 1-2k ms even that's y I called it lucky.)

I jumped off dash to second bubble and with it, glide (with free fall forward) to the 3rd ball past platform (2nd after volatile), and keep dashing to goal.

I suppose that's the least time consuming attempt I suppose.

I also suspect that the dashing range is random, as I realise that it's bit far sometime.

Good luck. It's a frustrating quest with high learning curve.

Ok, I followed the directions below on getting to the quest area via Moonguard. To complete the quest I found changing the view to first person was the key. This is an eye level quest meaning you need to be looking at the next blue/purple orb at eye level when you use the action button. AVOID the orange orbs.

Use a glider from Obsidian Overlook in Highmountain to get to this quest, easiest route by far. Also, I found that by letting yourself drop in the air just a bit (but not too far!) before pressing the button helps to avoid the orange orbs. You need to anticipate which way to be facing in order to hit the next orb, just takes practice.

Once you reach the first platform it will be a landing point if you fail again, so concentrate on making it to the first platform then try try again. Good luck.

Just a thought... they should have some sort of achievement for those who complete all the different 'Like the Wind' wq's. And maybe a reward, like a purple orb mount >:)

So far the Azsuna one is 'easiest', I think. Suramar one has no purple crystals to shoot you up, so it's all about hitting orbs to reset the Dash cd, and aiming for the next orb quickly so you can hit Dash again before you drop too far. I actually overshot the 'goal' because my angle was slightly off, but Dash cd was reset so I turned around & hit the goal from the back & it worked.

It's worth noting that there's an area to the right of where you pick up this quest (big 'ol mountain to your right, then past that another waterfall dropoff like where you get this). Once you get there you can use your abilities again so DH's can use glide and other characters can use items like the kite to jump off and glide. Shortly after you'll revert back to having the dash quest ability but you'll be ridiculously close to the goal. Moral of the story = glide off that ledge, then use dash to complete the quest easily (until this is fixed). Hope this helps

Suramar version:

For what it's worth, here's how the timing worked out for me (female Nelf): Start from the third rock over from the questgiver. Aim for the first, second and fourth spheres, don't try to hit the third one or you'll be out of position. Fourth time you dash, you should be over the blue platform.

Breathe and uncramp your fingers for a moment.

Dash toward the first sphere of the second half. Turn to your right, drop for a count of 3. Dash roughly straight ahead through three more spheres, turn left, drop for a count of 1, dash, turn right again, and try to stay towards the top of the spheres so you can drop a little to hit the target dead on.

To explain what's going on with the quest:

Thus far, there have been 5 different places this quest has spawned, all near Archmage Kesalon:

The bridge of Black Rook Hold in Val'sharah,
Stony Highlands near Hrydshal in Stormheim,
A cliff-edge overlooking the Blind Marshlands in Highmountain, started near the Witchwood,
The Lunar Crucible in Suramar (best accessed by gliding from Highmountain, or using the Shal'aran portal to the Moon Guard Fortress and running to the upper terraces through the Nightborne mobs), and
The Temple of a Thousand Lights in Azsuna (best accessed by taking the flightpath to Shackle's Den, riding to the top terrace of the Temple, then navigating to the cliff's edge - the NPC is on a narrow outcropping)

Entering the area near the NPC will disable your abilities and inventory, and provide you with a new interface with two abilities:
Your 1st ability is an Air Dash, that functions very similarly to the Demon Hunter's Fel Rush: It sends you up to a fixed distance forward in the air, while allowing you to ignore gravity during the animation.
The Air Dash ability has 1 charge to start with, and does not recharge naturally. It will automatically be recharged if you get teleported.
Your 5th ability exits this interface, teleports you back to the NPC and removes the ability to Air Dash. Speak to the NPC to reactivate the interface.

The goal of the quest is simple: Use the Air Dash to proceed to a goal hanging some distance away in the air.

The air between you and your goal has several powerups and obstacles to be aware of:

The small Purple Orbs in the air will replenish charges of your Air Dash ability.
Purple Crystals will send you higher into the air, a sudden rush similar to Aviana's Feather.
Large Orange Orbs and White Walls are obstacles that will send you back to the start and stun you if you touch them.
The Blue Platform functions as a checkpoint, and will change your "start" position once you reach it.
Finally, the goal is a Purple Circle that uses the Nightborne writing. Simply dash into the goal to win.

Some general tips:

Get as close to the edge as you can before you use your first dash; it only sends you up to a fixed distance, and it's common to undershoot the first orb after repeat attempts.
Purple orbs are used to line your intended path; they do not all need to be collected, but it's virtually impossible to reach the goal via Air Dash without them.
The game isn't just about knowing which direction to dash, it's about timing out falling, especially whenever a Purple Crystal is involved. Many of the Orange Orbs are easier to get past if you go under them, and the White Walls at Black Rook Hold actually require you to look for narrow openings in the "box".
If you Dash right into a powerup, your forward momentum drops by around 90%. If you clip one going over it, you may still pick it up but you won't lose any momentum.
The Air Dash increases the radius of your hitbox during the animation - it's easier to catch the powerups by dashing directly into them, compared to dashing early and slow-falling into them.
During the long falls onto the checkpoints in Highmountain and Stormheim, you can dash to extend the slowfall and prevent the game from porting you back. Which is good, because it takes 2 dashes to reach those checkpoints anyway!
The game only gets easier once you reach a checkpoint!

This quest is pretty much impossible for anyone with over 100ms. Perhaps the latency settings in game would help, but combing through all my System and Interface settings, I couldn't find anything.

I think it's an interesting change from kill all these things or loot this many things, but it could've been executed slightly better.

well... i read a lot of comments about this Quest. Well i went there I SPOKE WITH THE NPC. he told me some stuff. I saw the extra bar coming up. Tried it 3-4 times while when u fall down the waterfall it just bring you up. When you reach the first base you fall you start from there. Finish the last 2 jump. OMG IT WAS SO HARD. the reason that almost none is reading quests anymore just going directly where a flashy arrow points is one of the thousand reasons this game is slowly decaying. everyone want exicting funny YET easy quests save me your No its not like that that q was hard as hell but funny too..... everyone complaining how hard can something be because "lag" etc etc . you are on the same page of Achiev or no inv losers.

It's not that bad once you get the hang of the timing. Trickiest part was near the beginning on not hitting the red orb. Once you get to the middle platform think of it as a checkpoint. Don't hit 5 after that point, just let it drop and game will automatically port you back to that platform. Keep on practicing.

I FINALLY finished this for the first time, after trying about 60 times. Ok, it's hard, I'm not too distressed about that, but I don't get how they figured out the reward for this. Why not make the reward commensurate with the task? That at least would make it worth it.

Basically, you need to "push" (hit the button) when level with the purple orbs, which gives you a push forward. You should avoid going through the reddish orbs by "pushing" either above or below them. The trick is to dash out and to adjust your orientation (where you are facing) accordingly before the next dash. Usually you have time to do that. If you don't have enough time, then wipe that time and remember for the next time how you need to orient your character before that next dash. Crystal things shoot you higher up in the sky. If you have long enough to wait through the cooldown, you can get another push forward without an orb. There is a glowing patterned platform around halfway through that you are meant to alight on, and that will serve as a new jump off point for the rest of the run. If you go off from there and fail, you will only be reset to the platform and not back to the beginning! You DO need to be directly above it to land on it, so use your push power accordingly! I usually use my mouse and "pull" the view so that I'm looking directly down on myself. That tells me if I'm on track to land on the platform or not.

Edit: I have finally gotten to be ok at this. It is still hard, and takes way longer than most of the WQ. I see they have made it so we only have to do 3 WQ for Kirin Tor to get the Emissary Chest but it's usually 4 WQ for most others. Keep trying and adjusting your moves. :)

Seems like Blizz may have made this quest easier now. I did this quest the first week it came out and then again today. You seem to get a lot more time to react now and it only took me two tries.

I noticed sometimes my character seemed to dash different distances, and I might be imagining it but I think holding down the button to dash might affect the distance; I started holding it down for longer and I might be imagining it but my character seemed to be able to go further. (I'm not sure if this is actually happening and it might just be a mental thing, but it definitely seemed like it was doing something.)

It would be one thing if the Air Dash were an accurate and predictable command that did the same thing each time, but no, it does not. Sometimes it shoots you ahead 20 meters, other times 60 meters, other times you hear the noise, and nothing happens. It makes it next to impossible to accurately calculate your moves through this challenge other than hopefully having a dumb luck session where everything blindly falls into place. I'm not a fan of parkour, this is like something out of old 8 or 16 bit games like Double Dragon or Contra, but much worse because you can't control the command that moves you. Blizz needs to fix this.

Not worth it. Most of it depends on pure luck so practicing is not helping for the next time around. If you have nothing else to do, by all means, tinker around. But in general, just try any of the other world quests to gain your targeted rewards.

I have tried this quest in multiple areas on multiple days after various updates and I have never once managed to even get anywhere near the first step of the damn thing. The "dash" does something different every time, but I have never ever managed to coax it into getting me even to the first waypoint. Too bad--I really wanted to get the KT bonus, but this is beyond a waste of time and effort.

I probably spent 3x as long just getting up there, didn't realize it was up at the elemental fight place in Moonguard.

Maybe they have fixed something but I just did it on my first try. I've had my fair share of trouble on this quest in the other zones but this is, by far, the easiest darting/flying puzzles.

A world quest shouldn't take 30+ minutes just because you have half a second to determine if you're falling at normal speed or not, whether you jumped ten, twenty or sixty feet ahead, or if you even reached the next goddamn orb!

It's a great feeling to repeat the same steps over and over until the game decides it's time to give a full length dash so i can reach the platform.
Far too many times i have gotten to literally one step away from the platform.

I noticed on the second half of the quest, I came up short of the final orb if I aimed each of my jumps directly at the next orb. I had to try a few times before targeting my leaps forward with the intention of making up the most ground toward the last orb while still touching the near orb.

That is, target the side of the nearest orb that will get you closest to the final orb, particularly where the orbs are taking you around a curve.

This World Quest of Like the Wind is located in Suramar.

Flight point: Irongrove Retreat - Alyndra Stormgazer

uses the portal to the "Moon Guard Stronghold", if you have already unlock it, otherwise fly to the "Irongrove Retreat", go to the east, past the hill on the right, past Gloomfang to the left and follow the path up to the "Moonwhisper Gulch", past Thudchop Trunksmasher. Go to the left to the "Moon Guard Stronghold" over the bridge and walk past Siegemaster Aedrin and then go left up the stairs and across the large bridge. Keep to the left and go up the long stairs to the top, goes as far as it does not go any further. You will find Archmage Kesalon right at the water at the cliff.

- press twice the 1 for the Air Dash to reach the two balls and jump over the orange ball.
- press 1 again to reach the next ball that takes you to the blue checkpoint platform.
- jump to the next ball, which is to the left of the orange ball.
- drop a little, so that you can reach the ball under the orange.
- always look in the direction of the next ball and press the 1 to get to the end.

General tips:

- in rare cases the quest is buggy.
- talk to Archmage Kesalon before you start.
- best to take your companion away.
- dismount, but should be done automatically.

- use the right mouse button for turning the directional changes.
- use the Air Dash with the 1 key to jump forward.

- the purple balls will immediately load Air Dash, you have to reach them.
- the blue, round surface is something like a checkpoint to which you return, if you should fail later.
- you should not touch the orange large balls, or else fail.
- with the purple triangle with the three blue circles, you will jumps upwards.
- your goal is to reach the portal at the end of the course.
- in some cases, you must turn quickly to reach the next ball.
- in some cases you have to drop to reach a ball or a checkpoint.

- no hassle, have patience, if it should not work, take a little break and try again later.

Reading though these comments it becomes apparent that I may be the only player who finds these Kirin Tor quests enjoyable. They are not even that hard unless you are on a 56k modem and your latency is horrible.

If you don't like quest or are too uncoordinated, skip it. I'd rather see more quests like this than "kill 8 boars and bring their livers..." yawn...

Easiest way to get there if you don't have portal to Moonguard. Flight Path/taxi to Obsidian Overlook and glider down to Archmage Kasilon who is on a rock on top of the water fall. Fun quest in a lot of ways.

This stupid quest is clearly really bugged, every other time I use the dash it pushs me enough to get put JUST in front of the god damn orb then I slowly fall. And then the other half the the time I use it and go right through the damn orb and don't get my CD refreshed. On top of all that, some times when you use the dash, it will just keep dashing for ever then put you back at start.

This quest isn't terrible if you understand which arcane balls to shoot towards.

The purple balls are like the blue bubbles from other Kirin' Tor quests where you float in them, only they progress you to the next step.
The diamonds shoot you up into the air between fire balls.

As long as you free fall for most of it and point yourself in the right direction, this quest is trivial at worst. It takes a few tries but once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. :)

This quest has so many bad reviews I refuse to do it and never have. According to most of them, this isn't "fun" in any sense of the word. So because I know Blizzard reads these comments (or they just blindly refer people to Wowhead every chance they get cuz they don't wanna do their own job), maybe they will see this and know there's at least one person that actually listens to other players and refuses to buy into their BS Kirin Tor mess.

Yes, this quest sucks. Here are some tips if you want to try to do it (these tips are for the Suramar one, specifically). It's a challenge of angle, distance, and timing. It can help to use your mouse to keep your camera looking straight on at your back.

1. You need to jump off the rock where Kesalon is standing to be far enough out for the first dash to work. If you miss the first purple orb, use 5 (abandon) to reset while you are falling. If you fail at any of the first half of this, really, use 5 to reset.

2. To get past the first orange orb, you have to wait to dash until after you are under it.

Once you get to the platform, the first few orbs are fairly easy.

3. You might notice one of the purple orbs is partially inside the orange orb. This is a hint. You need to start hitting the next few orbs higher and higher in the orb.

4. For the last couple orbs you need to fall into them for it to work.

Good luck! It took me 20 or so minutes to get it right.

OK - 1 SIMPLE WINNING STRATEGY.

Aim to move horizontally into the side of the bubble - do not try to drop in to a bubble from above ! Using the dash ability, my moves were completely horizontal into the bubbles.

That was all I did differently and it made it easy to avoid the "stun orbs" and to reach the points I needed to get to.

Suramar version! (I notice some of the comments here are for the wrong zones)

I struggled with this one for a while but here's what worked for me:

To get to the quest, I floated down from the Obsidian Overlook FP in Highmountain, because I hadn't done the Moonguard Stronghold quest chain and activated the portal there (although I went ahead and did that while I was there).

After accepting the quest, hop over to the rock at the top of the falls the furthest away from the quest giver, on the far right.

Key step: Jump off the rock in the direction of the first purple orb. And I don't mean using the special action button Dash; regular character jump! I found that using the Dash while on the rock does not put you far enough out. Even if you make the first purple orb, you will then be too far away from the second one. At the height of your jump into the air above the falls, hit the Dash button. This should put you closer to the center of the orb and make your placement for subsequent Dashes much better.

Everything past that is fairly standard for this bloody frustrating quest type; you'll either be Dashing over or under the orange orbs to grab a chain of purple orbs down to the completion gate. There aren't any walls to maneuver around in this one, at least.

What I learned today is you have to start on the far right rock, as close to the edge as you can get without falling off. Your camera will go to right behind your head when you're on the lower lip of that rock. From there it's a pretty straightforward dash and I did it all in one try once I figured out the better starting point. Many thanks to all the falling advice before, made me test some before I attempted this one. Still a pretty crappy WQ design

I can't even reach the first purple orb. The Dash-ability sends me halfway towards it, then leaves me stuck on cooldown in the middle of nowhere slowly falling down.
How do you even mess up a World Quest this badly, Blizzard?

If the first bubble is bugged down in the tree below this worked for me.

Mount Up, climb to the top of the peak behind the quest giver, all the way up.
While mounted jump of the cliff towards the 2nd bubble.
Get ready, you will acquire the quest buff while you fall towards the bubble.
When you acquire the buff, aim towards a bubble and hit your dash button.
Continue dashing as usual

This quest is completely broken...in a good way.From the starting point, turn to your right and run to the end of the stone you are standing on and jump-dash against the stone/hill that is now in front of you.The momentum combined with slowfall will almost take you to the goal. I made it in just 3 dashes.

This can be completed on a flying mount if you have Broken Isle's flying! And it is incredibly easy just fly through each of the orbs that would give you the up boost and then hit the portal at the end, whammy it teleports you to the beginning and you complete the quest!

I'm pretty convinced that this quest works differently for different races (size of toon, etc). I was trying to do it on my different classes and each one seemed different. Some races like male tauran and male belf were super hard where some others like male pandaran were super ez.

I could not do it on my male belf, I had to give up. I wouldn't quite reach the first save platform (be super super close) no matter what I did. Was able to do it on my male tauren, pandaran and orce toons fine (though tauren was hard).

Given all the software bugs and badly designed quests nowadays it makes sense that this is just screwed up.

You have to laugh, the stupidest part of this quest is that if you die it puts you in a gy smack dab in the middle of a bunch of enemy mobs. So if you take rez sickness you better be able to hearth or fly out.

If you take the portal to Moon Guard Stronghold from the ports in the cave, you just have to run all the way up the top to the utmost waterfall.
Use the supershoes to dash across and collect the purple energy, while avoiding the orange. If you miss one, hit 5 and it will teleport you to the quest guy at the top of the waterfall. Talk to him to restart the quest.
It's painful and annoying, depending on how many times you fall down, but it's certainly doable.

I now have flying so I thought this would be easy, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to do it. I flew around and found what looked like it might be the goal, which was a sort of round glowing platform. However flying around, over, under, etc. that platform does not appear to do anything.

How do you complete this?

With Legion flying, druids in flight form can now dash thru without any chance of falling. Not sure if it works with mounts and other classes.

This quest frustrated the heck out of me. For those of you who have now gotten flying, it's become somewhat trivial (thank goodness). Just jump on your mount, talk the the questgiver with the dress, and fly through the orbs until you get to your goal. I avoided these quests because they were so tedious - but now I can do this all in about 10 seconds. Good luck, everyone!

I'm going to get downvoted to hell for saying this, but I actually enjoyed the quest. Completed it on my second attempt and didn't encounter any weird bugs or deaths. I have 14ms latency which I guess is quite low, so perhaps that's why I didn't have the issues other people do. If your latency is low, I suggest you give the quest a go despite what everyone else here is saying, as you might not suffer its bugs.

To be honest, the hardest part is finding the quest in the first place! Start at the bridge where the WQ The Magic of Flight takes place. Cross the bridge and enter Moon Guard Stronghold, turn left, and follow the path up and all the way around. You'll have to climb a lot of stairs and pass many mobs to get there. There's also a Suramar portal you activate on the way up.

With flying, this is a piece of cake. Just mount your favorite flying mount, follow the line of orbs to the goal and fly through it. Done.

In Stormheim, fly down to the blue platform.
The purple gem shaped things must be avoided.
The green, sparkling, fuzzy globes, must be flown through.
Fly up, going down river (in the direction the water is flowing).
The goal in under the right end of the bridge.

Loved reading the comments on this. I agree, horrible quest. Lots of fails, but here's how I finally did it.

Zoom in to first person mode.

LEFT HAND: on the A>W>D keys

RIGHT HAND: on the number 1 key

Drop from rock, use 1 key to get into first bubble, use left hand to rotate toon in right direction for next bubble, then hit the 1 with right hand, rinse and repeat.

When I hit the goal, I must not have hit it dead on and was zoomed back to platform to try again, but got through it on my 2nd try with this method.

First up: being able to fly now in this area does not help at all. So forget about that one. You still have to figure out where the first bubble is, make sure you fly through it and not just nearby, avoid the multitude of "bad" orbs that push you back to the beginning, and on and on and on. NOT WORTH IT. Just forget Kirin Tor.

I've just completed this quest but failed, then watched the videos, failed again.

However, on my 3rd attempt, I flew up to the mage, accepted the quest and wasn't dismounted, so I flew through the orbs, taking the same path as in the videos, stopped on the platform, carried on again and completed the quest.

job done :)

This quest seems to have become more buggy than it was at launch. Occasionally my dashes will not move me, or sometimes they will do a super-dash and bring me twice as far forward.

Super easy with flying now, just start at the waterfall and fly through the blue orbs... avoid the yellow stuff and win -- I did land on the platform half way through, not sure if needed just happened to do it.

Doing it the first time now in 7.3.5.
I would say it is not the easiest of the Kirin Tor quests, but it is also not that terrible, as you people present it.
Just starfe forward from ball to ball. The only problem was the first energy orb, as I was always hitting it with my head or something.
I also missed the goal one time, you must fall down, so that you are in the proper height, so you can go through the circle.

After coming here to see if anyone had any pointers for the success of this WQ, I saw many a comment that basically went "This is such a bad design! I'm NEVER trying this again! Kawaaaaaahhh!" I was so disappointed that I decided to create a more positive one. I did have some help from a youtube video titled "Like the Wind Suramar - WoW". (As of this posting, I am still working on getting the achievements to enable flying while in The Broken Isles. My fault for taking a two year break. Life happens...)

I do hope that I can decrease the annoyance factor with this post. This is what I suggest in order to successfully complete this WQ:

1) Keep calm and be patient, above all else.

2) Use the number one key at the top of your keyboard as a "fire button".

3) Hold the right button of your mouse at all times and move it sideways according to the direction needed.

4) Try to visualize the line between you and the target orb as you progress through the course. * A level line is ideal.*

Notes:

a) At the beginning of the course, jump on top of the tallest boulder that is the farthest away from Archmage Kesalon (the guy that starts the course up for you). This will enable you to sight down the first two orbs like the barrel of a gun. This might even get your mind trained on how the course is overall. I would suggest you stare at that sight for a minute.

b) Once you make it to the blue runic platform (i.e., checkpoint), there is an orb off the edge. Once you go through it, immediately turn approximately 90 degrees to the right and allow yourself to fall for about 1-2 seconds (I didn't count any numbers here, just "fired" when I my toon was "on the level"). This will enable you to miss the fireball and hit the orb that is directly under it.

c) The basic jest of this quest is aiming and firing at the correct time but doing it in a snap.

d) I know it's a bit cliche, but "If that horse bucks you off o' his back, get back up there and show 'im who the boss is!"

Why so much belly aching about this quest? I found it pretty easy and really fun! You just press dash when it looks like you're level with the top of the purple bubble in front of you. Simple.

If you've got Legion Pathfinder Part 2 (and therefore flying) on any of your characters, this goes from being annoying as hell to real easy.

If you approach Kesalon while still on a flying mount (and don't get off it), the quest toolbar should appear and you should be able to just fly the course in your mount. Should you get off your mount for whatever reason (e.g. to directly interact with Kesalon) - It's not 100%, but it should be possible to get the state where the orbs pop up while still on your flying mount.

Assuming you're still on your flying mount and seeing the orbs, this becomes very easy: Simply follow the path of orbs until you see the purple portal at the end, and then just fly through it. Job done.

I don't really know which is worst. When the very first jump goes 5 feet and doesn't make it to the first orb or when the very last one goes only 5 feet and doesn't make it to the last one....It seems completely random as to how far it's going to go. Last three are the same distance apart, you'd think it would travel the same distance, but it's random.
Edit: I decided. It's when the very last one slams you into the circle like it's a wall and nothing happens...

They must have fixed this, because it wasn't so bad today. There were two keys to the quest:

If you look up at a 45 degree angle and use the air dash, you can hit the first target (and later dash over the 1st negative ball)
Sometimes you need to fall for a half second or so to avoid hitting a negative ball

This quest absolutely sucks and is completely buggy. Skip if at all possible. You will fall to your death or extreme low health and no way to get back so you have to take the res. sickness. needs a fix!

Just did it in Stormheim... trick is to go down to platform first, skip the immediate uplift diamonds in front of you at start. Be sure to use sprint to actually get to platform. From this checkpoint you can have multiple attempts to his the recharge globes and uplift diamonds to get to goal.
