Quite possibly the single worst quest Blizzard has made in the last few years.

Insanely low spawn rates and no shared tag system, eg. only the first one to hit a mob gets the loot. You get nothing if you're not fast enough.

And to top it off, people who stubbornly refuse to group up for no apparent reason.

I've been here for the last 40 minutes without managing to get a group, and have only gotten two kills that gave me loot. 11/33.

Well. I have been farming Bloodsail rep via the quest Return to Revilgaz, which turns all the 90 elites into level 35 non elites. But! Now I can't see the shark or other players. This only happens in booty bay. If I swim out into the Southern Savage Coastal area, all's dandy. Any solutions?

/cast (any instant spell you have here)

Sit in pool, tap away and hope for lootdrop.

The amcro seems to prioritise alive ones, so you're "as fast as possible".

Fastest way to do this is flying close to the surface and when you spotted a shark use a gap closer (charge, heroic leap, infernal strike etc.) into the water. Also create or find a 5 man group.

If you manage to get the tag on one of these before the opposing faction, don't just kill it as fast as you can. Hit it to get the tag and aggro, then drag it back toward the crowd so that people in your faction can also get a chance to tag and loot it. Hopefully Blizzard will hotfix these to a quicker spawn rate, but until then we might as well help each other out.

The sharks are seeming to spawn more often deep into the cove, as opposed to where the boats come in

BEST METHOD FOR FARMING SHARK TEETH:

Use the following macro to instantly target and tag the Hungry Sharks as they spawn:

/tar hungry
/focus (Setting the shark to focus makes it appear as a red dot on your minimap.)
/cast ________ (Insert your furthest ranged instant-cast spell into the macro. Taunts will also work.)
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 2);

This last line of the macro places an orange marker on the sharks head, that only the members in your party can see, for easy visibility.

The macro will always target a live shark over a dead one. Even if you are targeting a dead shark, the macro will automatically switch to a live shark if one spawns.

Place the macro on your action bar and fly around, just above the water, spamming the macro and looking for a red dot to show up on your minimap. Just fly towards the red dot and you will tag the shark.

You will not be able to loot the quest item if you are in a raid group, so try to find a group of 5 people or less.

If you are on a PvP realm, and keep getting ganked by the opposite faction, use an addon such as Cross Realm Assist in order to phase to a different realm that is dominated by your faction. If you use the addon, choose the 'manual join' option to search for groups by size.

I'm having issue looting the sharks at all. My character goes into the loot animation but no window pops up, and on the rare occasion that it does, I get only "Partially Digested Meat." The mobs continue to display loot sparkles.

I have tried relogging, abandoning and retaking the quest, and looting other mobs (that works fine).

Just like Ayush, this quest is impossible for me, atm. I'm currently at war with and hated by Booty Bay and the rest of the steamweedle cartel, and I'm currently in the middle of the quest that causes Booty Bay to be phased into a seige with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. So, I can barely get near the sharks, and something seems to be preventing me from looting the few I'm able to kill. Boooo.

I like how the water causes LoS and the sharks so far ALL OF THEM have no teeth. IF you can even loot them that is.

I have done this quest twice now. First time, bay was crowded, grouping helped a lot; got credit for kills from my party, thus able to loot more than I could kill on my own. Sharks that dropped quest teeth dropped a fair number; took around ten to twelve, counting several nulls.

Second time, late evening, bay was empty. There were many sharks that no one was killing, so I had my pick; took less than ten minutes, five or six kills. Most had quest teeth this time.

A fair number of sharks yielded no quest teeth, but the ones that dropped teeth sometimes dropped quite a few. The quest is not as unreasonable as it seems at first.

I'm truly not sure if it's worth the effort, though.

FWIW, on the first one, I was in the bay anyway, hunting Ol' Eary for the toy, so it wasn't like it was out of the way to do this. On the second, I only did it because I saw the bay was empty and there were a lot of sharks available.

Recommend - try this morning right after restart, before people log back on.

It seems that if you are on the last quest chain for Booty Bay starting with The Bloodsail Buccaneers, you need to actually finish the full chain which ends up phasing Booty Bay due to the quest The Final Voyage of the Brashtide. Once you've finished the last quest out in Booty Bay for this chain, Booty Bay will phase back to normal and you can pick up this quest from Dread Captain DeMeza.

Note: If you don't see any quests available and you are stuck in the phased version where the Brashtide invasion is going on, you will need to get at least Friendly reputation to start/see any quests in Booty Bay.

This quest is bugged. Once I flew to the 38.27, 62.63 area then down to the water level they started to appear a lot. Hope this helps.
