This quest requires Cooking 1 to obtain. As the quest giver is also the cooking trainer, this is fairly simple.

Any spider on Teldrassil can drop this. A good spot is 60,58 for the level 5-6 ones. :)

The drop rate was quite poor for me, i will killing the webwood lurkers found nearest dolanar, but then i ventured south. I found some venomfangs with a better drop rate. I found these south west of the lake, (around 45,79). Im not sure why the drop rate was so low on the lurkers, i mean they have 8 legs and i cant even get one of them, strange. Happy hunting!

The spiders at 60,58 had a decent drop rate but there was an insufficient amount with a slow respawn rate, I gathered about 5 there then went to 45,79 and collected the rest.

This quest did not count towards the Loremaster of Kalimdor achievement for me...

I'm trying to fill out my cookbook at lvl 80. I visited Zarrin, but he does not offer me this quest. Anyone else have this problem, or can give me an idea why he doesn't offer it? I'm a night elf and exalted with Darnassus, so I doubt race or rep's a problem.

I came here because I looted the Small Spider Leg from the little spiders in the Elwynn Forest, around Goldshire.

Probably because that is a horde achievement and this is an alliance quest.

Is this quest still doable? My lv 6 Rogue has cooking and it's not showing up for me.

There have been many quests that were marked as obsolete and unobtainable on wowhead recently that I was still able to pick up and complete, so I did just go check this one out. Provided there are no prerequisite quests barring me from getting it, there is no longer a quest available from Zarrin at this time.

Description

Long ago, the night elves were called the kaldorei, a name that means "children of the stars." Learning of the past is an important step in your path as a <class>, <name>, so listen well to what I have to tell you.

The kaldorei have always taken much pride in their harmonious relationship with nature. This means that we only take from nature what is necessary, and that we return in kind. This balance has afforded us much, <name>.

Go out and collect seven small spider legs -- no more than that, and return to me.
